Chapter 34: The Prophet of Another World (2)

Prophecy is a very complex thing.

First of all, only those who are born with the talent can prophesy.

Among those who are not born with it, only those who are chosen by God and can receive divine oracles would be able to do such a thing.

Ah, of course, Cassandra was not the type to receive divine oracles. She was the type who possessed predictive abilities herself.

Because of that, she was branded as a witch and at one time cursed her abilities, and often faced life-threatening crises while being hated by the world… but now, she cherishes this predictive ability, which has helped her improve her skills, move to other places, earn money, and even brought her precious relationships.

Because she now knows very well that this predictive ability, the talent for divination that gives her the power to see the future, is a truly amazing thing. Unlike when she was young, she had grown older and gained experience.

Seeing the future was… such a power. A power that even great transcendents would envy.

The future is not fixed as one.

That means that a prophet can change the future they see. Because it can be changed, the foresight of a fortuneteller who has predicted the future becomes even more valuable.

If the future seen is completely fixed… it means that it cannot be changed, and in that case, there is no choice but to accept it, but if there is a possibility to change even a bad future, people would want to change it even if they have to give a thousand gold.

Therefore, different fortunetellers who can prophesy often see different futures. But that doesn’t mean that those who see different futures are treated badly. Because that too is one of the other futures.

Good fortunetellers are those who can instinctively see more clearly among the many branches of the future that are still only possibilities, and find a sure path.

It means that a better fortuneteller is one who can foresee not only the future but also the process of reaching it. Because the future is fickle.

It’s common for people to see the future and try to act differently, only for the future to come true, or for people to be satisfied with the future they see and try to live according to that future, only to end up in a bad situation.

They are all prophecies of fortunetellers who saw the future but did not see the path to reach it.

For reference, in the case of divine oracles, unless they are very cherished, they do not tell you the solution even if they see a bad fortune. Even if you ask a priest, a priest who only receives divine oracles cannot give a clear answer.

The reason why Cassandra herself, who lived in a religious country, was branded as a witch was also because of this.

To some gods, fortunetellers and prophets who give fortunes whenever they are paid well, unlike the gods who discriminate and do not give proper oracles, would feel unpleasant, as if they were challenging their authority or taking away their influence.

That’s why they are branded as witches, killed, and treated badly.

Well, anyway, let’s put aside the trivial old stories…

Cassandra Strada, who had finished her divination and was considered to have the most outstanding divination ability in the original world and was called the witch of foresight, was confident in her divination, so as soon as she divined and saw the way, she began to move confidently.

When she didn’t know, of course, she had to be clumsy, but since she had already foreseen it with divination and knew the way to the future she had seen, there was no reason to be embarrassed, confused, or clumsy. She just had to walk confidently on the path she saw.

‘Your fortune, your prophecy is not a curse. It’s a great and wonderful blessing that makes even the gods who try to kill you full of jealousy.’

How could she doubt the ability that the man who believed in her more than anyone else, even more than her parents who tried to sell her when she was branded as a witch, had praised?

‘Be confident. You are as great as the gods of the sky, and the most blessed person in this world. Huh, hard to believe? If you can’t believe in yourself… can you believe in me, who believes in you?’

Especially, the fortune-telling she had just performed was a fortune-telling for the path to the lover who believed in her.

Even if she got everything else wrong, if it was a divination for the relationship that was closest, deepest, and most firmly intertwined with her, there was no reason for it to be wrong. It couldn’t be wrong.

Therefore, Cassandra moved forward, believing in the fortune without a single hesitation.

[Turn right after going straight for 1376m.]

Surprisingly, the other-world fortuneteller who uses the metric system moved forward according to the guidance.

[Turn right soon.]
[Go straight for 508m and then turn left. Proceed in the 8 o’clock direction.]
[Go straight, then go straight into the alley diagonally to the right, and when you reach the main road, turn left.]

The guidance was surprisingly detailed, so there was nothing to be confused about.

In fact, was it because the divination she saw was so accurate that she was so confused even though it was a place she didn’t know? Because once you get used to something so comfortable, it becomes uncomfortable to live without it, and you can no longer go back to before you were used to it.

Anyway, after moving forward like that, Cassandra arrived at a not-so-large park.

‘According to the fortune, people wearing suits, who have a way to go to a place called Australia, where that Zion guy is waiting, will come here in a hurry and take a breather.’

Two men and one woman. They are all wearing white shirts, black ties, and black suits, one has dark skin, and the others have white skin, although it has turned red.

Cassandra didn’t know much about this organization, but they were people who were looking for Zion, who was also Cassandra’s goal.

To be more precise, it wasn’t exactly that they were looking for Zion, but they were searching for the being that was presumed to have caused the sudden appearance of absolute powerhouses that were happening on Earth.

Anyway, the important thing was that they wanted the same thing.

And… Cassandra was confident that she could persuade them.

Of course, they would be surprised if a stranger approached them, but you had to be good at persuasion to make a good living as a fortuneteller.

Diviners who can foresee are rare, but there are also many scammers, so you had to use some tricks to gain the trust of suspicious customers who came to you.

And the best way to persuade them was always to show them the fortuneteller’s ability.

What could be more reliable than a proven ability? That’s enough to make them fall for it and immediately have faith.

Anyway, first, Cassandra, who had settled nearby, snapped her fingers and created a tent that surrounded her.

She wasn’t just good at divination. This kind of trick was basic.

She was weak compared to other monstrous transcendents, but compared to the strength of Earth, she was more of a strong person than a weak person.

If… she had been born on Earth, she would probably be active as a member of the Nine Stars by now. She would be greatly treated because of her talent.

Well… it’s a bit short of ‘Nine’ Stars now, but… anyway.

She simply transformed the surrounding objects with alchemy to create a simple table, chairs, and cushions, and placed a crystal ball on top of them to create an atmosphere, and she waited patiently.

“Arrival in 10, 9, 8, 7……… Arrival.”

Sensing the three people in suits who had come to the front of the tent to catch their breath as predicted, she immediately sent telepathy into their minds and said.

“I have divined the path to your goal. I have also divined a path that could save this star from destruction, all by chance. If you wish, I will be happy to lend a hand… If you don’t believe me, I will be happy to show you.”

Smiling at their reactions, which were immediately flashing! reactions, Cassandra added a little more.

“You don’t have to force yourselves to believe in me. I will show you. As many of you as you want. Come, my little tent may be of poor quality, but it is a good place to talk for a while.”

At those words, the trio was surprised, but they obediently entered the tent.

Seeing them, Cassandra greeted them with a business-like, relaxed smile that she had learned to automatically put on while doing business to give confidence to the other party.

“Nice to meet you. Well, at this point, you must be wondering who I am, right? There will be no information about me, of course… So first, I need to tell you who I am.”

She knew they were wary, but she didn’t care.

“From the right, Bron, Carter, and Rosie, right? Ages 27, 49, and 31, respectively. Never been in a relationship,

divorced twice, and recently broke up with your boyfriend, and your positions are assistant manager, deputy

manager, and assistant manager, respectively. You belong to the 4th Phenomenon Management Team of the World

Dimensional Phenomenon Management Organization.”

“?!”

“!!”

Seeing their surprised reactions, Cassandra smiled.

Now, if she surprised them a little more, it wouldn’t be difficult to make them believe her, Cassandra thought, and she opened her mouth to shake their mental state again.
