“So be it. I’ve long found you disagreeable. Better to do it sooner than later.”
Gracia narrowed her beautiful eyes, then drew her blood moon curved blade. Rather than charging straight at Namira, she hurled the blade like a boomerang toward Namira’s knee.
Namira casually raised her rifle to block. As expected, the curved blade was deflected, then flew back toward Gracia. Seizing the opportunity, Namira quickly chambered a round, aiming carefully at the blade circling in midair.
Bang!
The curved blade deviated from its trajectory, snagging into a nearby wall.
“Sis, now that that child is here, there’s a chance she’s our new sister. I won’t allow you to bully her.”
“What arrogance, you bastard. I’ve let you live peacefully for over two hundred years, and now you’ve got the nerve to oppose me, your big sister? If this weren’t the old hag’s house… hmph.”
Despite Gracia’s stream of insulting words, Namira’s heart remained calm as still water.
“Please do not speak ill of Mother, big sister.”
“Oh ho, now you’re lecturing me. Looks like you want to go head-to-head with me?”
With a slight curl of her pinky finger, the curved blade flew down from the wall, landing steadily into Gracia’s left hand. At the same time, her right hand mysteriously wielded a giant scythe, nearly several heads taller than herself.
“Ling’er, move away, Sister will be done soon.”
Lingling Lan was already petrified. She could feel the anger between the two sisters rising like a storm. We’re supposed to be a family, sisters…Why do they have to fight like this… She hurried to a small corner, curling up and covering her head.
“I’ll tear out your ponytail and leave it all over the place!” Gracia charged at Namira at a speed surpassing sound.
“So fast.”
Namira’s reaction wasn’t as quick, though she immediately held the rifle across her chest, preparing a defensive spell, before the protective shield formed, Gracia’s scythe was already inches from her forehead.
There was no choice but to aim the loaded rifle at her big sister, hoping to block the attack for just a moment…
At that critical moment, the strange loli who was tied to the pillar earlier now appeared between the two. Her wounds had inexplicably vanished, her black formal dress perfectly restored.
“Stop, stop, stop. Family harmony comes first. No need for infighting.”
The sheer aura radiated by this mysterious loli forcefully repelled the weapons of both Gracia and Namira, making them each take a step back. They stared at the loli, puzzled by her presence.
“How dare you interfere with my fight! Today, you’ll be the first to be ruined!”
Gracia nearly went mad, swinging the scythe furiously at the innocent loli.
Namira stepped forward quickly, just about to stop her when—A huge irregular black claw suddenly materialized, wrapping tightly around Gracia’s scythe. At the same time, a massive black tentacle erupted from the ground, piercing Gracia from below straight up through her body.
“Ughhh!!!”
Gracia didn’t even manage a full scream before the tentacle swiftly pierced through her throat from beneath. Namira felt no energy radiating from the loli at all, but somehow an intense fear gripped her heart, paralyzing her. Such overwhelming power…There was no way this could be Mama’s new daughter…It had to be another evil god.
The loli seemed entirely unaware of Gracia’s fate. Instead, her curiosity shifted toward Namira. She tiptoed over, her soft little hand gently pinched Namira’s fairly well-developed chest. Namira felt a strange warmth surge from the loli’s touch, spreading chaotically throughout her body.
“Hm? How is this possible? The probability should be ridiculously low!”
The loli grinned cheekily, released her hold, then helped arrange Namira’s disheveled ponytail.
“Miss, may I ask if you are a friend of Mother? Regarding the earlier incident, I apologize on behalf of my big sister. After all, she is also Mother’s daughter, so please let her go.”
Though her cheeks were faintly flushed from the touch, Namira remained polite and bowed respectfully to this possible evil god Invited by Mama Nyara.
Gracia, dumbfounded and unable to respond, could only stare pitifully. For the first time in a long while, she felt genuine regret for her reckless and violent behavior.
“Oh my, I’m not telling you who I am for now. Wouldn’t that be boring otherwise? Since Gracia already feels remorse, I’ll let her go. Remember to be polite like Namira from now on.”
The loli suddenly vanished into thin air, along with the claw and tentacle that had held Gracia.
“Big sister, you’re badly injured. Let me take you to get treated…”
“No need for your meddling, you bastard. Hmph.”
It wasn’t just physical injury. Gracia’s attack had damaged her soul, preventing her from fully recovering for the time being. Gracia struggled, using her scythe to prop up her blood-soaked body, her sharp eyes burning cold as they stared at Namira.
With a spiteful grimace, she wiped blood from the corner of her mouth, then limped away, clutching her wounded chest.
Watching Gracia slowly disappear, Namira sighed helplessly, then quietly tidied up the chaotic mess on the floor.
Lingling Lan, having emerged from a safe corner, helped silently, sweeping the room alongside Namira.
Having witnessed such a terrifying scene… Lingling Lan was sure she’d have nightmares tonight. Though her big sister was scary too, being treated so brutally seemed a bit… excessive. She even felt a little sorry for her. But the one she pitied the most was definitely Sister Namira.
“Sister Namira… you’re hurt…”
“I’ll heal soon. It doesn’t hurt anymore. From now on, Ling’er, remember to stay farther away, okay? Sister worries you’ll get caught in the crossfire.”
A portion of tissue was scraped off her finger during the battle, but thankfully, it wasn’t a serious wound to Namira. It was nothing compared to the kitchen knife cuts she’d once gotten trying to help around the house.
For this family, she had already sacrificed so much. Even if neither Mama nor Big Sister acknowledged her, she would silently bear her responsibilities as daughter, sister, and elder sister to Lingling Lan…
“Let’s go, Ling’er. We’ll eat some fruit.”
“Mm.”
Lingling Lan willingly reached out her small hand, taking Namira’s injured hand and leading her forward.
Ha… My little sister has really grown up now…She actually cares about big sister…
The kitchen was at the end of the corridor.
Namira picked up a knife, just like always, peeling fruit for Mama and the big sisters. She softly sliced along the apple’s skin, spinning it with ease, leaving a perfect apple peel. But when her hand hurt, it was nowhere near as easy as before…
“Sister Namira, take a break. I’ll peel the apple for you.”
“But Ling’er, it doesn’t hurt…Sister can just eat it as is.”
“Ling’er can peel it too!”
The apple knife glided around the rosy, plump apple, Lingling Lan’s nimble little hands danced playfully, revealing translucent pale yellow flesh before Namira’s eyes.
“Sister, please eat the apple!”
Seeing Lingling Lan’s warm, smiling eyes, Namira felt her pain melt away, her only desire now was to embrace Ling’er and return her love…
“Thank you, Ling’er…Sister feels so touched…”
“So sweet…”
