X
Bright moonlight filters through the pines,
clear springs flow over stones.
Quiet moonlight drapes a silvery veil over Caledonia Academy.
On the brightly lit campus paths, small groups of young students occasionally pass by, and whenever they spot Coco and Yiluo, they can’t help but steal a few extra glances.
“Caledonia Academy is really huge.”
After taking just one look at the map Sophia had given her, Yiluo had already memorized it.
As she walked, she observed the academy’s buildings and the passing students with curiosity shining in her eyes.
Hearing Coco’s comment, she tilted her head at a forty-five-degree angle and smiled.
“It really is big.
They should add some campus buses.”
Coco and Yiluo had already been walking inside Caledonia Academy for more than half an hour,
yet they were still more than halfway away from Whisper Dormitory.
This alone showed how difficult multi-disciplinary study could be.
Normally, dorms were arranged within a student’s own division.
But if one’s majors spanned multiple academies, just traveling back and forth would be enough to exhaust most students.
“Horse-drawn carriages?”
“Indeed.”
“But with so many students at Caledonia, even a few carriages wouldn’t be enough to carry everyone.”
“And it doesn’t seem very hygienic either.”
Coco nodded, sighing slightly.
Everyone knew horses didn’t have toilets.
Yiluo just smiled and said nothing.
After all, the campus buses she meant were from her previous life—not the horse carriages of this era.
Although magical warriors brought many conveniences to the Star Continent,
when it came to daily life, modern technology still made things far more comfortable.
“Hey, beautiful ladies.
You must be new students, right?
Which dorm were you assigned to?
I know them all—I can take you there.”
“I’m a second-year senior from the Combat Academy, Warrior specialization.
Fourth-tier mid-level strength.
My father is the city lord of Lisi Prefecture, a hereditary marquis.”
Coco and Yiluo completely ignored the tall male student trying to strike up a conversation and continued walking toward Whisper Dormitory.
In just half an hour, they had already been approached six times.
“Hey~ don’t leave.
I’m a good guy.
More friends at the academy means more options.
If you want to sit in on classes or if someone bullies you, I can help.”
Yiluo felt like a fly was buzzing nonstop beside her ear.
This kind of popularity brought her no joy at all.
Worse still, one buzzing fly was enough to cause a chain reaction.
Seeing this, other passing students would grow interested and follow along.
Yiluo felt like she and Coco had become zoo monkeys, being watched for free.
“Coco.
The big sword.”
Yiluo smiled coldly, her eyes narrowing into a thin line.
“Here.”
Hearing Yiluo’s words, Coco skillfully handed over the dazzling, golden great sword—
so bright it looked like a little sun—to Yiluo.
“Hey, that sword is really beautiful.
Miss, you’ve got great taste.
Where was it forged?
I want one too.”
The senior trying to flirt still hadn’t realized the danger.
He continued chatting cheerfully, trying to get closer to Yiluo.
Bang—
Clang—
Yiluo lifted the great sword—taller than she was—and smacked it straight down on his head.
Under the shocked gazes of the onlookers, the senior collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
“Uh, junior, while this classmate was indeed being excessive, using violence privately on campus—”
Bang—
Clang—
Another senior who had stepped up to lecture her met the same fate, knocked out cold by the now ferocious Yiluo.
The surrounding students who had planned to watch the show—or maybe flirt as well—took two steps back after seeing two seniors instantly K.O.’d.
This was not a spectacle to enjoy…
It wasn’t that the seniors were weak.
The junior was just way too fierce.
Coco smiled apologetically at the surrounding students and bowed slightly.
“Our lady is in a bad mood today.
If the noise around her gets too loud, she may lose control of her body.
Please forgive us.”
Though everyone was frightened by Yiluo’s use of violence,
seeing her maid so polite made them feel oddly understanding.
They even sighed inwardly.
This demi-human maid was amazing—
so gentle and kind.
If only they had one too.
Then Coco’s tone suddenly changed.
“So, if any of you still have questions, please step forward.
My lady will solve them all at once,
and then we can continue back to the dorm.”
As soon as Coco finished speaking, the onlookers’ hearts skipped a beat.
They turned around and left immediately.
Uh—
What did “solve them all at once” even mean?!
The silver-haired girl looked at most cutely fierce at best,
but the smile in this maid’s eyes felt like it carried a cold blade—
as if she could butcher someone on the spot.
Let’s go, let’s go—
can’t afford to mess with them…
In truth, Yiluo was just unbearably annoyed.
All the students were teenagers or barely in their early twenties,
so she wouldn’t really kill anyone without reason.
As for Coco—
she cared the most about Yiluo.
Seeing how clearly irritated Yiluo was,
a little flame of anger flared up inside her.
How could my cute, beautiful Miss Yiluo be tricked away by you people?!
Though Coco didn’t believe Yiluo would truly be taken away,
the thought still scared her.
She desperately wished everyone in front of her would disappear,
and for a moment, murderous intent actually surfaced.
Her mood was terrible.
But just as Coco was caught in these extreme emotions,
she turned her head and saw Yiluo holding that extremely gorgeous golden great sword with both hands,
grinning foolishly—clearly very happy.
All of Coco’s negative feelings vanished instantly,
replaced by fields of tiny red flowers blooming in her heart.
She hurried over and asked cheerfully,
“Miss Yiluo, why are you suddenly so happy?”
As long as Miss Yiluo was happy,
Coco would be very happy too.
Yiluo planted one hand on her hip and raised the enormous, eye-blinding great sword with the other.
“Hahaha!
So this is the joy of a true powerhouse?”
“Coco, let’s go.
Let the radiance of the great sword guide us to the dorm!”
And so, Yiluo marched toward the dorms, holding the sword that looked even bigger than herself.
Everyone who passed by stared—
but after noticing the unconscious bodies on the ground, they hurried away.
Coco tilted her head, not quite understanding, but quickly followed along.
Miss Yiluo seems to be getting strange again~
But…
isn’t Miss Yiluo being strange what’s normal?
Over the next smooth half-hour,
anyone who dared approach to flirt—
Yiluo didn’t bother asking what they wanted,
nor did she bother acting anymore.
She simply swung the great sword at their heads.
No matter their strength, everyone was knocked out in a single hit.
Among them were not only actual flirters,
but also innocent freshmen asking for directions,
members of the campus disciplinary committee,
and even a curious teacher.
Reaching the dorm building, Yiluo looked at the great sword held high in her hands,
then turned and patted Coco on the shoulder.
“When I have time, I’ll go back to the town and ask that macho blacksmith to make you a matching one too.”
“Mmm… yes, Master!”
Coco’s face flushed as she nodded eagerly.
A weapon in the same style as Miss Yiluo’s—
mm mm!
It’s like a couple’s set…
.
.
Meanwhile, in that small town famous for forging, inside a blacksmith’s shop—
the burly blacksmith was striking a weapon at a critical moment,
when suddenly he felt a chill down the back of his neck.
Clang—
That inexplicable sense of dread made him lose control of his swing,
warping the nearly finished longsword.
“Huh?
Why does it feel like I’m being watched by a demon…?”
“Don’t tell me that witch is coming back again?”
The blacksmith glanced nervously behind him.
The dark workshop walls flickered with the shifting glow of the forge,
a little eerie—
but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
He scratched his head and suddenly laughed.
“How could that demon still remember me?
I’m just a lousy blacksmith.
Ha, I’m overthinking things.”
He looked at the ruined sword, tossed it back into the furnace, and prepared to reforge it.
“Ho ho ho—
as long as the devil doesn’t come, forging every day gives me motivation…”
“Heh heh heh—
as long as the witch doesn’t come,
even if I mess up ten times, it’s fine…”
Free from the pressure of witches,
the blacksmith happily hummed a tune and continued hammering away…
