“Today’s lunch is amazing. There’s chicken!”
Yixin Xue sat across from Ling Yuan, clearly satisfied with her plate.
“Class President, can’t you handle spice…?”
He looked puzzled at her dish.
The chicken was drenched in red chili oil. For someone like her who couldn’t tolerate spice, it seemed unbearable.
She picked up a piece with her chopsticks.
“Since you like spicy food, I’ve got to practice eating it too~”
“No need for that… My kind of spicy isn’t normal—it’s in my blood.”
“Who said I’m aiming for that level~?”
She shook her head, gazing softly at his lips.
“Yesterday, after hotpot, kissing you was so spicy. Without milk tea, I couldn’t handle it. To avoid that next time, I’m training my spice tolerance.”
With that, she took a small bite of the chicken.
“Mm~ Not as spicy as I thought.”
She closed her eyes, content.
“The saltiness is just right. Here, darling~”
“Huh?”
He stared, dumbfounded, as she held the half-bitten chicken to his mouth.
“Take a bite.”
“Uh…”
Her move drew several dark, envious glares toward him.
“Open up, ah~”
He hesitantly took a small bite. Though only half, the chicken, soaked in flavorful broth, was delicious.
Not spicy, just savory-sweet.
“Good boy~”
She popped the rest into her mouth, chewing happily.
“It tastes different with your flavor—way better~”
Huh?
He was stunned. What kind of wild idea was that?
Facing the cafeteria line, he noticed a familiar figure in the crowd.
Yan Xi chatted cheerfully with some classmates. Scanning for a seat, her eyes met his.
[Brother? Wait, why’s Yixin Xue across from him?]
The smile vanished from her face, her brown eyes blazing with resentment as she glared at his awkward grin.
He could only keep smiling dumbly.
[I’m screwed, so screwed. Why’s Yan Xi eating on this floor? What are the odds?]
She turned slightly, spoke to her group, and they headed elsewhere. But Yan Xi marched straight toward him.
[Done for! Done for! Totally done for!]
“Afternoon, Yixin Xue.”
Her voice was icy, dripping with hostility, as if flaunting her bond with Ling Yuan. She sat right beside him.
“Afternoon.”
Yixin Xue’s brows furrowed, her good mood plummeting.
The sudden tension made him panic. These two were two of the school’s top four—no, five, with Yingnan Xue—beauties.
Yet, sitting between two campus queens made him the school’s public enemy.
Why does this guy get two beauties?
“Brother, just one dish for lunch?”
“No money on my card…”
He rubbed his forehead, head aching.
“Here, have some of mine.”
Yan Xi tilted her plate, sliding some meat onto his.
“Not true.”
Yixin Xue smirked coldly.
“He wanted to share my dish to bond.”
Bond?
Yan Xi’s veins popped, her lips twitching, chopsticks gripped tightly.
“No big deal.”
She took a deep breath, feigning indifference.
“After all, Brother and I have kissed.”
“?”
Not just Yixin Xue—Ling Yuan was baffled too.
“Don’t talk nonsense! When did we kiss?”
He gaped, swearing to the heavens he’d never kissed her.
She adjusted her collar, tying her loose hair up slowly before speaking.
“We sleep together all the time.”
[Yan Xi, shut the hell up!]
“Is that so, Ling Yuan?”
Yixin Xue’s flame-red eyes turned cold, the warm cafeteria suddenly freezing.
“She’s… she’s lying…”
He waved his hands frantically, a guillotine over his neck.
“Eh? How can you deny it?”
She looked shocked.
“You even grabbed my buns while sleeping.”
“!?”
[That’s pure nonsense!]
But he was defenseless. Yixin Xue’s expression showed she believed every word. No amount of explaining could clear his name now.
“Alright, I’m off. Bye, dear Brother~”
Yan Xi winked, flashing a victor’s smile as she headed to another table.
“So that’s the kind of person you are.”
Yixin Xue bit her spoon, channeling her anger into it.
“Don’t believe her nonsense… Class President, you’re not really mad, right? With your smarts, you can tell she’s trying to rile you up!”
He pleaded, desperate to clear himself.
“Really?”
She smiled coldly.
“Prove it.”
“Prove… how?”
He was dumbfounded.
How could he prove that?
“How about staying at my place one night? That’ll prove it.”
She seemed to find a perfect excuse.
“Huh?”
“Yup, let me study you closely to see if you did those things.”
She gave a strange smile.
Her words yanked him back to that Saturday. In seconds, he relived everything that happened.
If she was this wild at school, at her place… His mind spiraled with wild, vivid scenarios.
He’d seen those kinds of shows…
“But we have school the next day, so that’s tricky~”
She tilted her head, thinking.
“How about Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at my place? I’ll supervise your holiday homework~”
The reason sounded legitimate…
“Class President… what homework takes three days…?”
He asked shakily.
“One night’s enough…”
“One night won’t do~”
She leaned forward slightly.
“You’re too naughty. You need more punishment.”
“Uh…”
His eyes widened.
She licked her lips lightly.
“Why does Yan Xi get your affection, but not me? I’m super unwilling!”
