Chapter 42: A Hundred Times, A Difficult Promise

In the room, Bai Hao meticulously spoon-fed the alluring mature woman before him.

Aunt Xia, it seemed, shone with an even greater radiance after the events of the previous night.

Her mature aura, especially, bloomed like a perfectly ripe, bursting peach, stirring an irresistible longing within him.

At this moment, Bai Hao continued to offer the spoon filled with porridge to Aunt Xia’s red lips, but she refused to open her mouth again.

Seeing this, Bai Hao felt a touch of bewilderment.

He assumed Aunt Xia was throwing another tantrum, so he began to coax her.

“Be a good girl, Aunt Xia, just a little more.”

Xia Zhiquiu bristled with indignation at the young man’s tone, which he used to coax a child.

She promptly turned her head away, letting out a cold huff.

“I won’t eat! Take it away!”

Noting that his ‘little tiger’ had flared up, Bai Hao awkwardly retracted the spoon.

“Aunt Xia, please rest here for a moment.

I’ll go to the hotel reception and get a fresh bedsheet.

You should take it easy and recover today.”

Xia Zhiquiu offered no reply to the young man’s words.

Her eyes were simply cast down, her thoughts unknown.

No sooner had Bai Hao departed than Xia Zhiquiu rose from her seat, walking out of the room with a somewhat peculiar gait.

As she walked, Xia Zhiquiu inwardly cursed the young man, calling him a scoundrel.

‘It was all his fault; my legs are still trembling with every step.’

After a while, she arrived at a nearby pharmacy.

Standing at the entrance, she hesitated for a moment before finally stepping inside.

“Miss, how may I help you?”

The pharmacist, seeing Xia Zhiquiu, had a flash of admiration in their eyes before asking with warmth.

Xia Zhiquiu’s pretty face flushed at the question.

Finally, she stammered with hesitation.

“Do you, do you have safety pills here?”

Having been taken advantage of by that scoundrel Bai Hao was already difficult enough for her to accept.

The thought of having a baby in her belly was simply unimaginable for Xia Zhiquiu.

The pharmacist paused for a moment after hearing her words, then nodded.

“Yes, we do. But Miss, which kind do you require?”

Xia Zhiquiu had never encountered such knowledge before; naturally, she was completely ignorant about contraceptive pills.

Just as she was about to speak and inquire further, a figure suddenly entered, grabbing her arm.

“She doesn’t need them, thank you.”

The young man addressed the pharmacist, then, without a word of explanation, swept the mature and alluring woman into his arms and carried her out of the shop.

Xia Zhiquiu stared at Bai Hao, stunned for a moment, before immediately beginning to struggle.

Her slender legs kicked and thrashed incessantly.

“You, you let go of me, you scoundrel!”

Far from releasing her, Bai Hao tightened his embrace on the beauty in his arms.

Under the curious gazes of passersby, he carried the woman back to their hotel room.

Long before they reached the hotel, Xia Zhiquiu, unable to bear the stares of the onlookers, had buried her head in the young man’s chest, behaving with uncharacteristic docility.

Bai Hao gently placed the beautiful woman on the edge of the bed.

A flicker of anger stirred within him, causing his voice to rise by a couple of notches.

“Aunt Xia, you actually went behind my back to secretly buy those pills? Don’t you know how harmful those things are to your body?”

Hearing his words, Xia Zhiquiu felt an even greater surge of grievance.

Her large eyes instantly welled up with tears.

“Am I an idiot? Would I not know those things are bad for my body? This is all your fault! I, I don’t want a baby… Waaah…”

Watching the tear-streaked beauty, Bai Hao’s anger vanished without a trace.

He swiftly pulled her into his embrace, comforting her.

“Don’t cry, Aunt Xia. Your tears break my heart.”

“It’s all my fault. But please don’t worry, it was just once; there won’t be a baby.”

Xia Zhiquiu’s voice remained choked with sobs.

She lifted her head, staring blankly at the young man.

“There really won’t be one?”

Bai Hao paused at her question.

He couldn’t actually guarantee that, could he?

Yet, to be honest, the thought of this stunning woman before him carrying his child sent a thrill of excitement through him.

Nevertheless, to reassure the adorable beauty, he feigned seriousness.

“Aunt Xia, I promise you, there will absolutely be no baby.”

Xia Zhiquiu said nothing in response, whether she believed him or not was unclear.

Instead, she simply bit down on the young man’s chest.

“Hiss!”

Bai Hao took two sharp breaths, yet a secret pleasure bloomed within him.

From Aunt Xia’s reaction, it seemed she was gradually coming to terms with the fact that she had transformed into a true woman last night.

Just then, however, Bai Hao’s phone rang, interrupting their intense lovers’ quarrel.

Picking up his phone, Bai Hao saw it was Gu Chen calling.

Why did that kid always interrupt when he and Aunt Xia were having a tender moment?

In response, Bai Hao gave Aunt Xia a reassuring glance before answering the call with a hint of exasperation.

“What is it, Little Chenzi?”

Gu Chen felt speechless about the nickname Bai Hao had given him, but at the moment, he couldn’t care less.

His voice was tinged with excitement.

“–Brother Hao, I’ve found a lead on the Echoing Specter.

Can you and Aunt Xia come over?”

Hearing this, Bai Hao glanced at Xia Zhiquiu in his arms.

He replied immediately.

“–We’re still out of town right now, so it’ll take some time to get back.

But we’ll hurry as fast as we can.”

But Brother Hao, why are you always with Aunt Xia these days?

Don’t you have classes?”

Xia Zhiquiu, hearing the young man’s smug words, shot him an indignant glare.

The consequence, however, was that her shapely bottom was once again subjected to his teasing.

Bai Hao chatted with Gu Chen for a couple more minutes before hanging up the phone.

Then, he addressed the mature beauty in his arms.

“Aunt Xia, what’s done is done between us, and we were already husband and wife.

So please don’t be angry, alright?

It’s not good to upset your body.”

“If you really can’t let go of your anger, then hit me.

I’m thick-skinned; I’m not afraid of pain.”

As he spoke, he took her delicate hand and pressed it against his chest, urging her to strike.

Xia Zhiquiu knew perfectly well that this was merely the young man’s ploy of feigned suffering.

Yet, for some reason, much of the anger in her heart dissipated, leaving behind only a profound sense of bewilderment about the future.

With that thought, Xia Zhiquiu withdrew her hand, looking calmly at the young man before her.

“Bai Hao, can you please let me go?”

Currently, Xia Zhiquiu’s heart was a tangled mess.

She felt that the only way to untangle it was to distance herself from this young man.

Bai Hao, however, froze at her words, a pang of disappointment stirring within him.

He suddenly realized that even though he had possessed Aunt Xia’s body, he couldn’t change her desire to escape him.

Considering this, Bai Hao gritted his teeth and spoke directly.

“Aunt Xia, you’re so eager to distance yourself from me? Fine, I’ll grant your wish. If you stay with me a hundred times, I’ll let you go!”

Bai Hao had said this deliberately, certain that Aunt Xia would never agree to such an outrageous demand.

This time, however, Xia Zhiquiu fell into a rare silence after hearing him.

After a long pause, she spoke in a low voice.

“Are you planning to trick me again this time?”

Bai Hao stared, momentarily failing to grasp her meaning.

The next moment, Xia Zhiquiu lifted her head, her eyes holding an emotion Bai Hao couldn’t decipher.

Her red lips parted, and she spoke each word distinctly.

“If not, then I will agree to your terms.”
