X
After their playful banter, the two returned to Noah’s room.
Inside, the decor was still simple and understated.
Noah didn’t seem to like flashy things.
Everything in her room could be described as minimalist.
It starkly contrasted with the castle’s grand hall.
The most high-tech item was a fridge.
It held plenty of tomatoes, Noah’s go-to snack.
The kitchen had standard appliances.
But those were bought just a month ago when Luoyao was brought here.
Every vampire’s room had a basic kitchen for their blood slaves’ needs.
Luoyao was Noah’s first blood s*ave.
Before her, the kitchen went mostly unused—
Except when Noah practiced cooking.
“Still familiar?” Noah asked.
“Yup, clean as ever.”
Noah was a perfectionist.
She didn’t just chase ultimate intimacy with Luoyao in bed.
Even daily chores, she did herself, striving for perfection.
When Luoyao was her blood s*ave, Noah handled the cleaning.
It left Luoyao wondering: who was serving whom?
“Rest up. I’m gonna shower. I’m covered in blood, filthy,” Noah said, shedding her jacket.
“Um… I want to check on Xiaan in the classroom first.”
Luoyao added, “She seemed off. I’m worried something’s wrong.”
She hadn’t mentioned it outside.
Since she came back with Noah, she felt she should check Noah’s place first.
Then go find Xiaan.
Otherwise, Noah might get upset.
Her little dummy’s thoughts were easy to read.
Noah raised a hand, gently patting her cheek, smiling. “Go ahead.”
Luoyao grinned, tiptoeing to plant a quick kiss on Noah’s lips. “I’m off.”
“I’ll be back to fill you up later.”
“Mhm.”
Luoyao nodded, leaving for the top-floor classroom.
Along the way, she passed vampires lounging at their doors.
Their gazes sized her up like prey.
Some nearly grabbed her.
But seeing the clear kiss mark on her neck, they backed off.
Such a pity… so soft and sweet-smelling.
Who was lucky enough to claim this treasure?
Luoyao reached the top floor unscathed.
She was grateful for the kiss mark Noah left.
Back then, she thought she’d never see Noah again.
She wanted a memento.
Who knew it’d be so significant to vampires?
She touched the mark, a small smile forming.
Lost in thought, she pushed open the classroom door.
Huangwei wasn’t there.
Probably still busy with Anna’s situation.
On the way back, Noah told Luoyao about Suyue attacking Anna.
That maniac seemed completely unhinged now.
Good thing Luoyao rejected her firmly.
Being targeted by that lunatic would’ve been a headache.
Luoyao stood at the door, scanning the back for Xiaan.
She didn’t find her.
Instead, she saw four or five girls in a corner.
Pointing and whispering about someone.
Their words dripped with cruel insults.
Luoyao frowned, her heart tightening.
She recalled Xiaan’s injuries and poor state outside…
Xiaan said her master had been in the city for days.
But her wounds were fresh.
Did someone else hurt her?
Luoyao bit her lip.
Scared, but summoning courage, she approached.
“Didn’t I tell you not to come to class today?”
“Your master doesn’t want you anymore.”
“Who’re you trying to serve now?”
“Yeah, Xiaan, aren’t you just pathetic?”
“Scramble to please another vampire.”
“Or you won’t know how you’ll die.”
“Shh, stop, she’s gonna cry.”
“Cry? Good. I’ll make her cry.”
“Didn’t I say yesterday? If I see you in class again, it won’t just be a slap.”
“Got that, Xiaan?”
The girls dressed vibrantly.
But their words were vile.
Luoyao never imagined bullying among blood slaves.
All captives of vampires—how was one above another?
The strong preying on the weak could be excused as survival of the fittest.
But the weak turning on the weaker?
That was f*cking senseless.
“So, ready, Xiaan? Your pinky’s mine.”
“No… please, Feng Lili, don’t…”
Luoyao couldn’t hold back.
She shoved through the girls.
Under their shocked stares, she stood in front of Xiaan.
Facing Feng Lili, she said, “Isn’t this going too far?”
“Luoyao…”
Xiaan was stunned, then whispered, “Don’t get involved… they’re unreasonable. Get out, or you’ll get hurt too—”
“Well, who’s this little cutie?”
Feng Lili smirked, eyeing Luoyao. “Haven’t seen you before. New?”
“Does it matter if I’m new? You’re all vampire captives. Why gang up on her?”
Luoyao’s sheltered upbringing was smooth.
From elementary to college, she never faced bullying.
It shaped her naive belief in human goodness.
She thought fellow humans should unite, support each other.
But reality was absurd.
Where there were people, there were cliques.
To avoid being outcast, you needed a “backer” to join a group.
Otherwise, you’d end up like Xiaan—bullied.
“What do you mean ‘we’ are captives? You’re not?” Feng Lili shot back.
“I’m not—”
“Enough, Lili, she’s playing hero. Newbie doesn’t know the rules. Let’s teach her,” another girl egged on.
Feng Lili snorted, arms crossed, eyes narrowing. “You seem smarter than Xiaan. Wanna join us? By the way, my master’s Aleng, one of the castle’s oldest vampires.”
Feng Lili was a coward who picked on the weak.
But she had some brains.
Xiaan, nearly abandoned, was fair game.
But this new softie likely had a master.
Better sweet-talk and gauge her first.
“I’m not interested. Xiaan, let’s go.”
Luoyao grabbed Xiaan’s wrist to leave.
“Hmph, stubborn little b*tch. No one leaves that easily.”
