“Ugh, seriously, you disrupted Huangwei’s class. Why do I have to stand here with you?”
Luoyao balanced two books on her head.
Her hands steadied their edges to keep them from falling. “Kindergarten, nine years of school, three years of high school, four years of college—
I’ve never been punished to stand!”
Noah leaned against the wall, flipping through a book she was supposed to balance on her head.
She drawled, “Pretty nice, huh? Your first time was with me, and now your first punishment stand is too.”
“That’s not how it works!”
“Why not? Stand straight, little dummy. Don’t let Huangwei catch you slacking.”
As she spoke, Noah closed her book.
She placed it atop Luoyao’s head, smiling smugly. “Take my share too.”
“You can push my body around, but not my dignity! Take it back! Hold your own!”
Luoyao, with a spark of defiance, yanked the book off.
She smacked it onto Noah’s face.
Noah chuckled, pulling the book away.
She sidled closer to Luoyao.
Seeing Noah’s mischievous grin, Luoyao tensed, inching away. “What’re you up to?”
“Hold the books steady. No lowering your hands.”
“…What are you—hey! Stop tickling my waist!”
Luoyao clutched the books, swaying to dodge Noah’s attack.
But that darn vampire knew her too well.
She even predicted where Luoyao would dodge.
In the end, Noah seized her chance, pulling Luoyao into her arms.
The three books clattered to the floor.
Luoyao leaned against Noah’s chest, turning her head. “This is the hallway. People are passing by. Let go.”
“Nope.”
“Come on, it’s embarrassing… What if someone sees?”
Noah raised an eyebrow. “If you’re shy, bury your face in my chest. No one’ll see you then.”
“Is that how vampire logic works? So bold?”
“Not vampires. Me. Come on, look up, gimme a kiss.”
“No way!”
“Just one kiss~”
“No. Hey, don’t lean in—stop—”
Just as they were about to “break class rules” again—
“Class is over~ Let’s—oh wow, that’s spicy…”
“Ahh, sorry, Lady Vampire, I saw nothing! Carry on, carry on!”
Students trickled out of the classroom, interrupting their moment.
Luoyao shoved Noah away, stepping aside.
Her flushed face turned, fingers tucking hair behind her ear to hide her embarrassment.
Noah didn’t care.
Under the stunned gazes, she picked up the fallen books.
“Class is done. Go home, feed your masters. Stop gossiping,” Noah said coolly, glancing at them.
“Hurry, hurry, that’s the silver-haired vampire who slapped Aleng yesterday!”
“Let’s go, let’s go.”
The students left in pairs or trios.
Only Xiaan emerged alone from the classroom.
“Wait, Xiaan! Let’s go back together!”
Luoyao jogged to Xiaan’s side, naturally linking arms with her.
Xiaan smiled, then glanced back at Noah by the door. “Not staying with your master?”
“Forget her. She’s always teasing me, hmph.”
Luoyao stuck her tongue out at Noah, then pulled Xiaan away from the top floor.
Noah crossed her arms, leaning against the wall.
She pouted, muttering, “Brat, actually leaving me here alone.”
“Jealous?” Huangwei poked her head out of the classroom, teasing.
Noah smacked the book onto Huangwei’s head. “Mind your own business.”
“Tch, bottling up your little feelings? Not your style, Noah.”
“Stop stirring the pot. Luoyao and I are fine.”
Huangwei chuckled, stepping out and closing the door. “You two are too close.”
“That’s why you indulge her. But sometimes, you gotta stake your claim.”
“Stake my claim?”
“Maybe not the best phrase, but let Luoyao know your feelings. Eating vinegar alone is boring, right?”
Noah bit her lip.
Huangwei had a point.
She knew she was jealous.
Seeing her beloved link arms with another girl and leave, even if their bond was innocent, it stung.
That’s probably the struggle of lesbian love.
Like most straight couples, neither likes their partner having a close opposite-s*x friend.
The same applied to girls in love.
Even close girlfriends, like Luoyao and Xiaan, sometimes linked arms.
It put Noah in a tough spot.
“Looks like our pure love warrior Noah’s taking my words seriously,” Huangwei said.
“I am, and I’ve figured out how to talk to Luoyao about it.”
“Oh? Spill.”
“Why tell you? I haven’t settled the score for making us stand.”
Huangwei feigned innocence. “Wah, I had to uphold my teacherly authority.”
“Stop acting flirty. Back to your clock tower.”
“Hmph, you called me big sister in front of everyone. Now you tell me to stop acting flirty. No wonder your girlfriend’s ignoring you.”
“Your age could make you my mom. Calling you sister was giving you face.”
Huangwei’s eye twitched. “Little Noah’s getting feisty. Speaking of Mother…”
Her tone shifted, suddenly serious.
Noah sobered at the word “Mother,” asking gravely, “What about her?”
“Hmm… when will you become Luoyao’s mom?” Huangwei mused, dead serious. “I’m so curious.”
Noah was speechless.
She thought this blonde old bat had something serious to say… and that’s it?
When could she become Luoyao’s mom?
She… kinda wanted to know too.
“Forget it, bye.”
Noah waved, heading for the stairs.
Huangwei watched her back, murmuring softly, “Cherish this time, Noah. Be with your love while you can. Mother… is coming back.”
