The Coastal Long Kingdom is a nation in Westchuan Continent, long along the coast.
Though not the largest in territory, it became the leading force in development.
The West Peninsula Kingdom belonged to the same continent.
The king indulged in women, alcohol, and luxury, neglecting duties.
Uprisings broke out repeatedly in the Coastal Long region but were suppressed.
Ministers worried for survival of the nation.
The king dismissed concerns, saying:
“These uprisings are the fault of the local governor for failing to govern properly.
He should be demoted.”
The governor of Coastal Long, Qiuma Jila, was demoted.
Unwilling, he went to the court to confront the king and ministers.
All ministers sided with the king out of fear.
Qiuma Jila was executed for defiance, and his headless corpse was paraded through the streets the next day.
The scene was so horrifying that many could not look.
Children were forbidden to go outside.
This day became a national holiday shared by both nations:
Qiuma Jila Memorial Day, lasting three days.
Children are still forbidden outdoors.
Anyone who violates — child, adult, or elder — is executed.
The Coastal Long Kingdom later gained independence, championed technological governance, developed rapidly, reached the peak of Westchuan within three years, and built friendly relations with neighbors.
In the end:
Neglecting responsibility destroys a nation.
Following the needs of the people is the path of rule.
Blaming others is unacceptable.
Technology saving the nation is the true way of a new era.
