What if Mugetsu wasn’t a single-form attack? What if Ichigo had used it on Yhwach instead of Aizen?
In reality, the basis of my plan wasn’t much different.
No matter how much Ichigo honed his power, it’s doubtful he could surpass Mugetsu.

That power was enough to defeat Ichibei Hyosube, the leader of the Zero Division, so even a normal Yhwach was too threatening to ignore.

The potential of an individual and whether or not the body can handle the power of that potential are two different things.
A good example is Toshiro, who mastered Bankai at a young age and trained hard.
Even he couldn’t endure the power of Hyorinmaru, the strongest ice-type Zanpakuto, and evaluated his own Bankai as incomplete.
In order to use the complete Daiguren Hyorinmaru, he had to forcibly grow his body, even saying that it still put a strain on his body.
The same goes for Kenpachi Zaraki.
When Kenpachi’s Bankai was activated, his body couldn’t handle its own power, and his arm broke and got ripped off.
