Chapter 5: Su Yu, Qin Xiao’s Demonic Shadow

Inside a private hospital with a beautiful environment.

A young man with sword-like eyebrows and star-like eyes was sitting on a special chair, watching a video on the television.

On the TV, a martial artist exchange competition between martial arts university students was taking place.

In the frame, two female martial artists, one wielding a saber and the other a sword, were dressed in combat suits, fighting back and forth…

Ordinarily, watching two slender, agile, and heroic female martial artists fight would be a pleasant sight.

But the young man before him had a pained expression, his face was slightly beaded with cold sweat, his body felt unconsciously uncomfortable, and his breathing had become somewhat rapid.

Qin Xiao waved his hand slightly, signaling to stop the playback.

A person beside him in a white coat, looking like a doctor, quickly used the remote control to turn off the TV.

“Young Master, your illness seems to be getting worse. If this continues without treatment, it could very well deteriorate further,” the doctor in the white coat said.

“How serious could it get?” Qin Xiao asked.

“In the future… it could very well affect your interactions with ordinary women,” Luo Yuanhang hesitated for a moment, but still spoke the truth.

Qin Xiao wiped the cold sweat from his head with a tissue, a chilling look in his eyes.

“Su Yu…” Qin Xiao gritted his teeth and slowly said the name.

Clearly, he was furious.

Qin Xiao was suffering from a mental illness called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

That’s right.

The unlucky fellow from Su Yu’s memories, the one she had beaten for three years, was precisely this Qin Xiao before him.

During middle school, after the other students were beaten by Su Yu, they would learn how formidable she was. Forget provoking her, they would even take detours to avoid her.

Only this classmate, Qin Xiao, would spout harsh words every time he was beaten, and then challenge her again the next day.

As for why the two of them started fighting, even Su Yu no longer remembered.

But it wasn’t important anymore.

In this world where martial artists were revered, fights between children in school were commonplace; a school without fights would be abnormal.

And this Qin Xiao before him, thanks to those three years with Su Yu, had developed this mental illness.

To put it more accurately, it should be called “Female Martial Artist Phobia.”

Every time Qin Xiao saw a female martial artist who looked like she could fight, or a woman carrying a weapon or currently in combat, he would be reminded of his three years in middle school, and then he would feel unwell, break out in a cold sweat, his body would stiffen, and he would have difficulty breathing.

If it were just an inability to be around female martial artists, that would be one thing, but according to the doctor, if it continued to worsen without treatment, it was very likely that even ordinary women would affect him, making him afraid to face them.

This would not do!

He couldn’t possibly spend his whole life hiding from women, could he?

Wouldn’t that make him no different from a eunuch…

No, he, Qin Xiao, was a man, a proper martial artist.

Fortunately, his close relatives were not affected, so he could interact with his mother and sister as usual.

In these three years, Qin Xiao had trained diligently in martial arts. Coupled with his special constitution that allowed for easy absorption of spiritual energy, he was now a peak 3rd-stage martial artist. If he were to fight Su Yu again, he was confident he could win!

Of course, that was on the premise that he didn’t have an episode.

“Su Yu! One day, I will make you pay it all back, with interest!”

But even though Qin Xiao thought this in his heart, when he saw an obvious female martial artist, his body would still unconsciously think of his experiences three years ago, triggering a stress reaction…

“What exactly is wrong with me?” Qin Xiao asked Doctor Luo beside him.

“The emotional scars of adolescence are difficult to heal…”

“In the words of martial artists, the person you speak of has become a heart-demon in your mind, Young Master,” Luo Yuanhang said truthfully.

“How do I treat it?” Qin Xiao frowned and asked.

“According to the expert consultation between our hospital and the chief physician of the psychiatry department at Zhaoge First Hospital…”

“Get to the point!” Qin Xiao interrupted impatiently.

“Two methods, one conservative, one radical.”

“The conservative treatment is to try to interact with groups opposite to female martial artists, such as gentle, elegant women. This can prevent the condition from worsening.”

“As for the radical treatment, that would be to find Su Yu… and slay the heart-demon!” Doctor Luo said, waving his hand forward.

“You mean, make her disappear?”

Qin Xiao narrowed his eyes, a hint of killing intent in his expression. He seriously considered this method. If doing so could cure his illness, it was worth considering…

“No, no, no, that’s not what I mean…”

“Given the Young Master’s current condition, only by facing the heart-demon directly, by calmly confronting the event in your heart, can you eradicate the root of the illness.”

“The best way is to directly interact with the person herself.”

“Face the heart-demon, recreate the scene that caused the trauma, and achieve a different outcome. Perhaps only then can this illness be truly eradicated,” Doctor Luo added.

“Face the heart-demon…” Qin Xiao muttered to himself, the scene in his mind once again returning to a day many years ago.

That day.

The 12-year-old Qin Xiao had his legs crossed, feeling secretly pleased with himself. He had beaten all the male classmates in his class into submission, and they were willing to acknowledge him as their boss.

Just then, a classmate came crying, saying he had been beaten by a female demon from the class next door.

His adolescent self naturally couldn’t stand for it.

No matter what, he was the boss of this class. His underlings could only be bullied by him.

And so began his unlucky three years of middle school.

He still remembered the first time he fought Su Yu. He was pinned underneath her, Su Yu’s flurry of fists raining down on him, while he could only cover his head with his hands to reduce the damage. The scene was extremely pathetic.

“Let’s go with the more conservative treatment for now. As for slaying the heart-demon, I still need to prepare,” Qin Xiao said after falling into his memories and pondering for a moment.

“Yes, Young Master.”

“This is what I have prepared for your illness.”

With that, Doctor Luo opened a box from the table behind him and handed it to Qin Xiao.

Qin Xiao’s cold gaze swept over it. When he saw the contents of the box, his brow furrowed tightly.

Inside the box were photos of various scantily clad models.

In the middle of the box was a mobile phone, and on either side of the box, Qin Xiao also found some special DVDs…

“Doctor Luo… Luo Yuanhang! Is this what you call a treatment method?” Qin Xiao’s sword-like eyebrows knitted together, his tone rising, clearly impatient.

“Young Master, please don’t misunderstand. This is a normal treatment method. This way, you can discover the beauty of women. Please don’t… avoid treatment out of shame,” the young doctor said, still stating his position in the face of the angry Qin Xiao.

“Hmph! I refuse.” Qin Xiao glared at Luo Yuanhang.

With his status, he could be a match for even the daughters of princes and nobles. When had he stooped to looking at this kind of thing?

“In that case, please accept this mobile phone, Young Master.” Luo Yuanhang seemed to have been prepared for this, picking up the phone and saying.

“What’s the meaning of this phone?” Qin Xiao asked.

“There’s a live streaming platform app on the phone…”
