Chapter 53: Sparks in the Morning

First thought: good thing she brushed her teeth after breakfast—minty fresh.

Instinctively parting her lips, letting Su Yubai’s tongue slip in, entwining.

Breath unsteady, her ears filled with Su Yubai’s deepening breaths.

Eyes closed, head tilting up, soon feeling a hand on her neck.

Su Yubai’s fingers, slightly calloused, grazed her skin.

Heat at her nose, breath stolen, sensations swirling without direction.

Neck tickling, body trembling.

Strange, embarrassing, yet thrilling.

Arms around her waist, tongue following her lead, hooking gently, mimicking her sucking.

Breaths heavier, stark in the confined car.

A yearning rising, Jiang Yule let out a soft, “Mmm~”

Su Yubai’s hand stiffened, then released her tongue, pulling back.

Eyes damp, confused by the abrupt end, “Sister?”

Voice husky.

Her gaze deep, calming her breath.

Fingers lingering on her neck, eyes drifting to her collarbone.

Two seconds, then looking away discreetly.

Hand leaving her neck, Jiang Yule paused.

Her eyes cleared, contrasting the unspoken desire from moments ago.

Staring into them.

Su Yubai sat back, leaving only her profile.

Back to her cool, composed self.

Adjusting breath, calming heart.

Hearing movement, glancing—her buckling up, starting the car.

Looking away, but the image lingered.

That impure look, those desire-filled eyes, unshakable.

Kissing her now felt different from at home.

Yet the calm driver was the same as home.

As if the heated breath and heavy pants weren’t hers.

Silence for seconds, turning on the car stereo.

Her gaze flicked over.

Turning, “Hm?”

Looking back, coughing, “Nothing.”

“Oh.”

Connecting her phone, playing a favorite song.

Gentle melody filling the car.

Glancing at Su Yubai’s profile, recalling a campus post photo—her “faculty goddess” proof: lecturing, in doctoral robes, reading, her elegant back.

Mostly student-captured.

Snapping a photo, thinking to set it as their chat background.

But a couple’s photo would be better.

No selfies yet.

At a red light, “Sister, we don’t have a photo together.”

“Not safe now.”

In the car, risky. Nodding, “Okay, at school.”

Regretting not snapping her in the qipao yesterday—so beautiful.

Good thing only she saw it.

If students saw… campus trending!

At school, parking, unbuckling.

Raising her phone, “Sister~”

Looking at the lens, making a peace sign.

Eyes curving, kissing her cheek, clicking [shoot].

Su Yubai froze.

Pulling back, checking the photo—perfectly caught. Satisfied nod.

Smiling, meeting her slightly resentful gaze, “What’s wrong, Sister?”

“Just for a photo?”

Nodding, then realizing.

Chuckling, leaning close.

Her breath quickening, smiling deeper, brushing her cheek, kissing her earlobe, “Already got your morning kiss, Sister.”

Heart fluttering, unspoken.

Coughing, “Get out.”

Turning, catching her red earlobe.

Professor Su gets shy too.

Thought flashing, opening the door.

Su Yubai waited.

Eyeing her ring, smiling, “Professor Su, may I hold your hand?”

“Fine if not.”

At school, caution needed.

No answer, just stepping closer, taking her hand.

“Your girlfriend’s hand, hold it anytime.”

Interlocking fingers, “Not worried about bad impressions?”

“What impressions?”

Shaking head, “At B University?”

“Same.”

“What if someone reports you?”

Looking, “You’re not my student.”

“Not afraid of reports?”

Blinking, “Even for being gay?”

“No issue.”

Her concerns felt familiar, recalling a past relationship’s constraints, forgotten till now.

“What’s wrong?” Looking at their hands, gripped tighter.

Snapping back, smiling, “Nothing.”

Realizing too late, “Our office is that way.”

“No matter, to mine.”

Dazed, following—different buildings.

“How’s this office compared to B University?”

“Similar.”

“No students?”

Amused, “Scared of them?”

Touching nose, “Not scared.”

Explaining, “Just shy.”

Nodding, “No students here.”

Relieved sigh.

At the building, passersby noticed their hands, glancing.

Unfazed.

Upstairs, another stared.

“Everyone knows Professor Su here?” Smiling.

Glancing, shaking head, “Not that famous.”

Entering her HKU office, like B University’s—basic sofa, table, desk, printer.

Tea set too.

Looking around, sitting opposite.

“Tea?”

Classic opener.
Chuckling.

“Hm?” Confused.

“Want some.”

Boiling water, brewing, Jiang Yule watching.

“Trained professionally, Sister?”

Not looking, “Yup.”

“So skilled.”

Thinking of Jiang Huazhen, “Mom loves tea too.”

Listing her favorite teas, sharing stories—like high school sleepiness, Jiang Huazhen banning coffee, insisting on tea in a thermos.

“She cares about your future.”

“Yup, always comparing me.”

In her eyes, other kids excelled.

Even Su Yingying.

Unaware of her own wistful tone, noticing Su Yubai pause, look, meet her gaze.

Suddenly embraced, warmth enveloping.

“You’re great.”

Adding, “Even compared, you’re the best.”

Su Yubai praising her?

Blinking, “More praise, Sister?”

Hand on head, patting twice.

“Don’t push it.”

Lifting head, “That’s pushing it?”

Looking down.

Eyes bright, gazing, sliding to her nose, lips, collarbone.

Boldness surging, leaning, pinning her to the sofa, kissing her lips.

Light kiss, pulling back as her tongue moved.

Licking her lips twice.

Confusion in her eyes, then feeling lips on her chin.

Hooking her neck, licking her chin, “More praise, Sister?”

Puppy-like, pleading.

Chin stinging, unfamiliar, Su Yubai stifling a gasp.

Leaving faint teeth marks, licking them, sighing contentedly, then pouting, “Why ignore me?”

“Yule.” Helpless, flipping her, pinning her to the sofa.

Arms above head, no struggle, just pitiful, “What’s wrong, Sister?”

Silently watching, saying nothing.

But her eyes screamed: You’re playing with fire, woman.
