Chapter 54: The Dragon Princess’s Playful Proposal

“Pineapple buns? And so many?”

Gudou Shaotian’s brows furrowed involuntarily as he gazed at the pineapple buns, which were piled high like a small burial mound.

“How could there possibly be pineapple buns here? How was this even possible!”

As he looked around, he noticed a plethora of miscellaneous items.

Many of them seemed strangely familiar.

“Oh crap… we’re going to be discovered…”

A shiver ran through the Dragon Princess, causing her cowlick to stand on end.

If these individuals failed to heed her warnings and chose to fight here, all the flowers, plants, and trees she had meticulously cultivated would surely suffer.

“Young Master Gudou,” one person interjected, “these are all possessions belonging to those who participated in the hunting event. It seems they were transported here, likely deemed useful, much like these demon beast corpses.”

The Dragon Princess felt a flicker of excitement, fervently hoping this young man wouldn’t prove so foolish as to defy them!

‘Otherwise, she would simply have the Great Strength Bear flatten them.’

“What is it you wish for us to do?”

Gudou Shaotian was no fool; he knew he stood no chance against the Great Strength Bear accompanying Luo Tiantian.

Even less so could he contend with the mysterious master who had brought them all to this place.

‘He would submit for now, or at least feign submission. Only by remaining alive would he have the opportunity to uncover the truth of their situation.’

“You all?” Luo Tiantian’s voice was sharp. “This heap of items here is far too disorganized. Your task is to dismantle and sort them.”

“Of course, as it is now sleeping time, you may rest to the side. Simply ensure you do not stray too far from this area.”

“Great Strength Bear, keep a close watch on them for me. Should any dare to venture beyond fifty meters, bring them back!”

Having delivered her instructions with an icy demeanor, Luo Tiantian vanished from her spot.

Gudou Shaotian gazed at the vast pile of demon beast corpses before him, interspersed with an assortment of medicinal herbs and arcane artifacts.

He felt as though he had been transported to another realm entirely.

Instead of beginning his task, his small eyes darted restlessly around, an unmistakable sign of his mischievous intent.

“Little Dragon Princess, he’s wandering about and looking everywhere. Will something go wrong, meow~?”

Mao Yuxia and her companions, cloaked in invisibility, secretly observed whether the men were obeying the instructions.

The two archers, for their part, were quite obedient, diligently sifting through the demon beast corpses for useful materials.

Gudou Shaotian, however, was a different story; he darted about, seemingly intent on uncovering the secrets of this place.

“No need to worry,” the Dragon Princess reassured. “Let’s go out and continue with our own affairs.”

The Dragon Princess merely felt that as long as the fellow wasn’t causing significant destruction, his actions were inconsequential.

“How about I stay behind,” Luo Tiantian volunteered, “and supervise that person alongside the Great Strength Bear?”

“Little Tiantian,” the Dragon Princess chuckled, “you were so aloof just now. If you were to reappear, it would surely reveal a flaw in your act. Hehe, pay him no mind; let us depart!”

As the Dragon Princess was the one in charge here, she led the others out of the Mirage Dragon Pearl immediately after speaking.

The battle outside continued unabated.

The Dragon Princess glanced at the colossal defensive tree tower, which resembled a monstrous beast, and a whimsical idea sparked in her mind: she wanted to ensnare it within her Mirage Dragon Pearl.

“Kitty,” she mused to Mao Yuxia, “what do you think about bringing that massive tree demon into the Mirage Dragon Pearl as well?”

“Meow~ ah! What a ridiculous idea!” Mao Yuxia exclaimed, her fur bristling. “That thing would undoubtedly wreak havoc on our side! Absolutely not, meow!”

Mao Yuxia was frightened half to death.

Indeed, it was just like the Dragon Princess to conceive of such a suicidal notion; perhaps only she could ever entertain such a thought!

“I think it’s perfectly feasible!” the Dragon Princess countered, undeterred. “When it’s on the verge of defeat, we can secretly spirit it away. Controlling such a colossal beast would undoubtedly be glorious!”

The Dragon Princess grew increasingly inflated with her own grandiose ideas, already envisioning herself standing atop that immense defensive tree tower in the future, with countless subordinates kneeling in homage below.

Such a magnificent and enviable spectacle, the Dragon Princess concluded, was something she absolutely had to achieve!

“Sister Dragon Princess,” Luo Tiantian interjected, “the defensive tree tower is a sacred treasure of the Elf race. It cannot be tamed by any other species.”

“If you were to bring it into the Mirage Dragon Pearl, Sister, the Great Strength Bear inside would surely be overwhelmed and cause untold destruction.”

Luo Tiantian’s words splashed over the Dragon Princess like a bucket of icy water, dousing her enthusiasm.

With a hint of disappointment, she responded:

“Ugh… is there truly no other way?”

“There isn’t,” Luo Tiantian confirmed. “Even if you were to acquire the defensive tree tower’s core and replant it, it would still turn against you once it matured.”

The core of a defensive tree tower was, in essence, its seed.

It was a creation the Elf race had painstakingly developed, pouring their very essence into its research.

As long as its core remained intact, the defensive tree tower possessed the potential for infinite enhancement.

‘How could they possibly allow their enemies to obtain such an invaluable asset?’

“Sigh… I’ve suddenly lost a great deal of interest,” the Dragon Princess lamented, her back slumping as she peered towards the battlefield.

The battle had now reached a fever pitch, with everyone seemingly holding back only their ultimate moves.

Then her gaze drifted skyward, settling on Yue Guangyao, who had transformed into a radiant full moon.

The man stood so high, so conspicuously.

The Dragon Princess felt that if she didn’t seize the opportunity to mess with him, it would be an insult to his very prominence!

“Little Dragon Princess, don’t go over there, meow! Have you forgotten what happened last night? Yue Yi’s mental attack alone was enough to make us faint.”

“If Yue Guangyao hits us even once, we’ll surely be reduced to idiots!”

Catching the Dragon Princess’s smug little gleam, Mao Yuxia instantly knew what mischief the small creature was brewing.

She quickly issued a warning.

For any of them to approach him now would undoubtedly be courting death!

“Since we can’t do anything, I’m terribly bored!”

Almost all the demon beast corpses along the path had been collected.

If the Dragon Princess wasn’t given something amusing to occupy herself with, she would surely die of boredom!

“How about we venture deeper into the forest, towards its roots?” the Dragon Princess suggested. “Sister Rou’er isn’t here, nor is Gudou Ritien. They’re both so powerful, they’ve probably gone to hunt Level Five demon beasts in the forest’s deeper reaches.”

A surge of delight filled the Dragon Princess’s heart; something exciting was finally on the horizon.

“Absolutely not, meow!” Mao Yuxia declared firmly. “Little Dragon Princess, Sister Yueli explicitly said we must stay here, meow! If we run off again, Sister Yueli will be furious, meow!”

Mao Yuxia, strictly adhering to Yao Yueli’s commands, was resolute in her decision not to let the Dragon Princess cause any more mischief here.

“If I’m not allowed to do anything, I might as well just go back to sleep!”

Upon this realization, the Dragon Princess genuinely felt sleepy, having been busy for such an extended period.

To stay up late without sleeping, without cuddling with a cute little loli, was simply unbearable.

“Sleeping is fine, meow~,” Mao Yuxia conceded, “but if we enter the Mirage Dragon Pearl, those three people will surely discover us. As for outside, you’ve witnessed the chaotic situation; it would undoubtedly be too noisy to sleep.”

“Then let’s go to that cave from before!” the Dragon Princess exclaimed. “It’s very quiet there, and there’s no one else around. When the time comes, the three of us can play ‘two slices of bread sandwiching cheese,’ hehehe…”

A sly grin spread across the Dragon Princess’s face; she had yet to engage in such playful antics with a little loli like Luo Tiantian.

‘Tonight, she was determined to have a thoroughly enjoyable time.’

“What? What is ‘two slices of bread sandwiching cheese,’ Sister?”

How could the pure and innocent Luo Tiantian possibly comprehend such things?

“Hehehe, you’ll find out soon enough,” the Dragon Princess chirped. “Let’s hurry! Hehehe! Time for sleepy-sleepy! Time for sleepy-sleepy~~”

The Dragon Princess was in an exceptionally good mood, cheerfully humming a joyful tune.

“Sleep…?!” Luo Tiantian’s face flushed so crimson it felt as if smoke might rise from her head.

She glanced up at the Dragon Princess’s retreating back, her shame intensifying.

Hanging her head low, she allowed Mao Yuxia to lead her away.
