The little dummy was often soft or slow when facing emotions head-on.

But her understanding of their love always put Noah at ease.

The simplest way to express love was through words.

But if the heart didn’t feel it, even flowery words meant nothing.

Luoyao’s simple, sincere words made Noah feel her genuine emotional investment.

Wasn’t that enough?

After that, they talked more about feelings.

Lovers naturally discussed their relationship when alone.

It was a good way to polish their bond, avoiding clashes in their views on love.

At 1:40 a.m., Xiaan knocked, ready to head to class with Luoyao.

“Alright, I’m off.”

“Mhm.”

Luoyao slipped on her shoes, opened the door, and left with Xiaan for the top-floor classroom.

A few steps out, Xiaan noticed Luoyao’s mood was brighter than yesterday.

She even smirked to herself as they walked.

“What’s got you so happy?” Xiaan asked. “Did Lady Noah say something?”

“Huh? Oh… she said a lot…”

Luoyao scratched her nose, smiling shyly. “You know we’re tight. Don’t pry so much. Tell me about you and Anna. How’d last night go?”

Xiaan’s step faltered, and she glanced away, mumbling, “It… was okay.”

“Did she feed on you?”

“Yeah… but Anna’s not skilled. Took her a few tries to find a vein.”

Pfft—can’t help it. She’s never had a blood s*ave. She’s still figuring things out.”

“I’ll guide Anna slowly. I think we’ll get along well,” Xiaan said, smiling.

Luoyao pursed her lips, muttering, “A vampire needing her blood s*ave to teach her how to feed… Times have changed.”

Xiaan chuckled, continuing, “Anna said she’ll take me to her workplace tonight. I’m excited.”

Anna’s workplace?

Oh~

The castle’s blood bank, where Anna worked as keeper.

Luoyao felt relieved.

Anna seemed genuinely invested in getting close to Xiaan.

When someone shared their daily life, friends, or private spaces, it showed honesty.

Honesty was key in relationships.

Especially since Anna, a vampire, didn’t need to be so earnest with a blood s*ave like Xiaan.

Yet she wanted Xiaan to be part of her life.

It didn’t prove Anna had those feelings for Xiaan.

But it was enough for Luoyao to be sure they’d develop a bond beyond master and s*ave.

Having feelings was a good thing.

Just…

Luoyao sighed inwardly.

Just not like her and Noah, loving so loud the whole world knew.

Low-key, keep it low-key.

“Hmm, feels a bit weird, though,” Luoyao said.

“Weird? Why?”

“Taking a human to tour a human blood bank… Like bringing a chicken to KFC’s processing plant?”

Pfft, haha, so weird. But I didn’t overthink it. I just do what Anna says,” Xiaan said.

“Mhm.”

They chatted, climbing to the third floor.

At the stairwell corner, Xiaan froze.

Luoyao took two steps before noticing Xiaan had stopped.

She looked back, seeing Xiaan staring at the first room ahead.

Following her gaze, Luoyao saw a long-haired girl step out.

She wore a flowing white dress, black hair cascading like a waterfall.

Her figure was graceful, her bare face delicate, like the ethereal “white moonlight” of love stories—otherworldly, elegant.

Trailing behind this “white moonlight” was Xiaan’s old acquaintance.

Xiyue.

Luoyao frowned slightly.

So this “little fairy” was Xiyue’s new blood s*ave?

She studied her—tch.

Not as pretty as Xiaan!

As Luoyao and Xiaan paused, Xiyue and her companion noticed them.

Meeting Xiyue’s gaze, Xiaan instinctively hid behind Luoyao.

“Don’t be scared. I’m here,” Luoyao said.

“Mhm…”

In the castle, besides Luoyao, hardly any human dared face a vampire so calmly.

Thanks to Noah’s slap on Aleng a few days back, Luoyao’s status among these monstrous girls was cemented—

‘Mess with my girl, and I’ll slap you silly.’

Xiyue approached, holding the white-dress girl’s hand.

Her eyes passed Luoyao’s shoulder to Xiaan.

She smirked. “What, Xiaan, off to class?”

“I…” Xiaan clutched Luoyao’s hem, stammering.

“You’re with Noah’s little girlfriend. Did she take you as a blood s*ave too?”

“No, it’s not like that! I…”

Xiyue chuckled. “So you found a new master, huh? Pretty quick, Xiaan. Not even a day since you left me. You looked like you were about to cry then. I thought you’d miss me.

Mind sharing your new master’s name? Maybe I know them.”

Each of Xiyue’s words stabbed Xiaan’s heart.

She didn’t know what Xiaan endured those days she was gone.

Or how much Xiaan… wanted her to come back.

She did return, but that home had no place for Xiaan anymore.

Miss Xiyue?

A little.

But mostly, it was resentment.

“Xiyue… Whether Xiaan finds a new master is none of your business,” Luoyao cut in.

“You kicked her out. What she does now isn’t your concern.”

Xiyue’s brow furrowed. “Little thing, don’t think Noah’s protection lets you mouth off to all vampires.”

Luoyao shrugged. “I’m not mouthing off to all vampires.”

“I respect Teacher Huangwei. I like Anna. But I won’t be polite to someone who dumps a girl and then gets snarky. Got a problem with that?”

“You—”

“Alright, Lady Xiyue, don’t argue.”

The white-dress girl tugged Xiyue’s arm, her voice sweet and soft. “Didn’t you say you’d take me to class?”

“We’re gonna be late. Let’s go.”

Xiyue glared at Luoyao, said nothing more, and left with the girl’s hand in hers.

As the white-dress girl passed Xiaan, Xiaan caught her giving a subtle nod.

What… did that mean?

Once Xiyue and her companion climbed the stairs, Xiaan exhaled. “Thanks, Luoyao.”

“No big deal. Xiyue’s got such a weird vibe. She dumped you and still gets all snarky.”

Xiaan gave a wry smile. “Can’t help it. Not all vampires are kind like Lady Noah. But her new s*ave didn’t seem hostile. She looks like a simple girl.”

Luoyao raised an eyebrow, shaking her head. “Simple? I don’t think she’s simple at all.”

“Huh? Why?”

“If she was some pure lotus, ‘white moonlight’ type… She wouldn’t have given Xiyue an out. She’s clever. Xiyue and I were about to clash.

If she hadn’t pulled Xiyue away, Xiyue would’ve made empty threats, lost face, and still couldn’t touch me, right?”

Xiaan blinked, processing for a moment. “Oh… I get it. Luoyao, you’re amazing.”

“Amazing, my foot. Without my silver-haired goof, we’d both be dodging Xiyue.”

Luoyao openly admitted to borrowing Noah’s clout.

No shame in it—Xiaan wasn’t an outsider.

“Hahaha, you cling to Lady Noah’s leg, I’ll cling to yours,” Xiaan teased.

“Don’t you have a leg at home?  Go cling to Anna’s.”

“Anna’s too tiny, like a fifteen-year-old. Hmm, maybe treating her like a little sister works?”

Luoyao gave a thumbs-up. “Talk about bold. I thought having a vampire wife was wild. You’re wilder, calling a vampire your sister.”

“No way, just joking!”

The two friends laughed, heading to class.
