Fortunately, the rain wasn’t heavy enough to halt the bus service.
After standing in the biting cold wind for another ten minutes or so, an old bus finally pulled up in front of us.
Surprisingly, there were only a few scattered passengers on board.
There were plenty of empty seats, but most of them bore the damp stains left by previous occupants.
Water droplets from hair and clothing hems dripped onto the metal floor, gathering together and mixing with the mud brought in on everyone’s shoes, making the floor wet and dirty.
Sister Yuan took out the last few tissues she had and wiped the water off a plastic seat, motioning for me to sit.
The determination revealed beneath her slender, curled lashes dispelled any thought I had of being polite.
I had no choice but to sit down, covered in dirty water, and in doing so, dirtied the seat even more than the previous passenger.
A small puddle of water remained on the seat next to me, but Sister Yuan had no more tissues to dry it.
She had to stand beside me, holding onto the handrail.
Outside the window, the wind and rain continued to bully the pedestrians struggling with their umbrellas and the withered, ancient trees.
Amidst this apocalyptic scene, the old bus didn’t provide much of a sense of security.
What put my mind at ease was the sister standing beside me, who seemed to be omnipotent.
“What do you want for dinner?”
Sister Yuan looked down at me.
Water dripped from her long, hanging hair, falling from the black tips to my feet.
“I think we still have some ribs and radishes at home.
How about we make a pot of rib soup?
It’ll be perfect for warming you up, Xiao You.”
“Yes, yes, that sounds great.
I’d love some.”
In the chilling cold, a bowl of hot meat soup was indeed an excellent choice.
I found myself looking forward to the warmth of home even more.
But the bus was moving incredibly slowly, as if it would never reach our stop.
Figures opening and closing their umbrellas got on and off, and the number of people on the bus gradually increased.
Suddenly thinking of something, I took off the backpack on my back, placed it on my lap, and pulled out a thin scratchpad from inside.
I tore off a few pages, crumpled them into a ball, and wiped the seat next to me clean.
I blinked at Sister Yuan, patted the now-dry seat, and motioned for her to sit down.
As Sister Yuan sat, a strand of her hair brushed past my nose, bringing that familiar, faint fragrance even closer.
“Sister Yuan, how were our class’s English scores on the last mid-term exam?”
I rested my head against the glass window, gazing at the chaotic scene outside, and started another random conversation with Sister Yuan.
“Not bad.
First in the grade.
Although I’m reluctant to admit it, those two good friends of yours, Su Ye Mi and An Xue Ruo, along with a few other girls, really did play a big part in raising the average score.”
“What’s there to be reluctant about?
Isn’t it something to be happy about when your own students get excellent grades?”
“But they’re bad people who might steal you away, Xiao You.
I don’t want to say anything good about them.”
“…I’ll just be normal friends with them.
Is it really okay for you to talk about your own students like that, Sister Yuan?”
“You’re just normal friends now, but who knows about the future?
Maybe one day when I’m old and faded, you’ll start to despise me.”
Sister Yuan feigned a sorrowful tone, making an improper joke.
“Yes, yes.
When you get old, Sister Yuan, I’ll abandon you and run far, far away to live a carefree and unrestrained life, leaving you to die old and alone.”
I replied to her casually.
Even though I was also joking, the words, so contrary to my heart, still made me feel inexplicably upset.
“Even if it’s a joke, a response like that, Xiao You, could easily cost you a night’s sleep.”
“You’re the one who started it.
How could I possibly despise you…”
The last few words grew quieter and quieter.
Such words were, after all, a bit embarrassing.
“Alright, alright, I get it.
Xiao You likes me the most and could never despise me.”
Sister Yuan turned my head from the window and rested it on her shoulder, stroking it as if comforting a small child.
A crimson blush spread from my face to my earlobes.
I gently broke free from her hand and turned to look out the window again.
There were already quite a few passengers on the bus.
Being comforted like a child by Sister Yuan in front of everyone… I just couldn’t suppress the overwhelming shyness.
“What’s wrong?
Didn’t you just say you wouldn’t despise me?”
“I… but that’s no reason to do this.
I’m not a child.”
“Heh~”
A sweet, gentle chuckle came from behind my head.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sister Yuan tilting her head and staring at me.
“You’re clearly just an easily embarrassed little brat, yet you say you’re not a child.”
I fell silent and didn’t reply.
Raindrops flew at the window, their faint sound passing through the hard glass.
A jolt hit us, and my head couldn’t help but knock against the window, causing a dull pain.
“Haha, stupid Xiao You.
I told you not to lean on the window instead of my shoulder.
You bumped your head now, didn’t you?
It’s still not too late to lean over here, you know.”
Sister Yuan’s teasing voice fell upon my ear.
I glanced back at her but stubbornly continued to lean against the window.
Amidst the bumpy stops and starts, a familiar station sign appeared before my eyes.
We had arrived.
…
By the time we got home, it was almost completely dark.
I didn’t even try to argue with Sister Yuan about who should shower first.
She just shooed me directly into the bathroom, and her claim that she would find me a change of clothes gave me a bad feeling.
The bathroom, lined with white ceramic tiles, was filled with hazy steam.
Sitting in the bathtub full of hot water, my vision was blurry, as if I had entered a dreamscape.
My body, soaking in the hot water, felt as if it had suddenly awakened.
I could clearly feel my pores opening, a warm and pleasant feeling washing over me.
The unlocked door suddenly opened.
Sister Yuan walked in calmly and placed the clothes in the basket.
Completely naked, I reflexively curled up in embarrassment, staring at Sister Yuan, who had taken off her outer coat before entering.
She was left wearing only the white shirt underneath, which was quite wet and clung to her chest, looking almost transparent.
I could vaguely see the mature, black lingerie and a portion of her full, snow-white breasts beneath.
“Don’t be so scared.
Relax.
At least for now, I won’t do anything to you, Xiao You.
Finish your bath and come out for dinner.”
Sister Yuan glanced at me, huddled in the bathtub, and calmly walked out of the bathroom.
After she closed the door, I stood up on slightly numb legs, rinsed the foam off my body with the water pouring down from the showerhead, and dried myself.
Just as I was about to get dressed, I froze, staring at the women’s lace underwear in the clothing basket.
“Sister Yuan!
Is this underwear you found for me yours?!”
“Yes, it is.
Try it on.
My underwear might be more comfortable.”
“No way it’s more comfortable!
Where’s my own underwear?!”
“Gone!
Wear it or don’t.
Otherwise, you can just stay in there, Xiao You.
I’ll come in later and force them on you.”
…I just knew Sister Yuan was going to pull something on me again.
Looking at the dark purple underwear in my hand, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
I hesitated for a long time before finally swallowing my immense shame and putting it on.
A sumptuous dinner prepared by Sister Yuan was already set on the table.
I pulled out a chair and sat down, the feeling of the silky fabric on my lower body making me feel as if I were sitting on pins and needles.
“Sister Yuan, did you just buy these?”
“Of course not.
They’re ones I’ve worn before.
You really did put them on, Xiao You.
So obedient.”
…It’s not like I had a choice!
“It’s not like I don’t have my own underwear.
Why did you make me wear yours?”
“Because I want that place of yours to be scented with my fragrance too.
Since you won’t let me touch it, I have no choice but to do this.”
‘Doesn’t it occur to you that this makes me seem like a pervert?’
