“So you inject this stuff just to counterattack?” Su Yuewei let out a long sigh. How deep was their obsession with turning the tables? Was being a weak-willed girl really that miserable?

Just as Elumeng was about to keep interrogating, the train let out a strange noise.

Boom!

The entire train plunged into darkness. All lights went out, emergency lamps stayed dark, but the air-conditioning spells still hummed.

“Yuewei!”

Elumeng instantly realized what was happening.

The Hug-Save Society behind the potions had discovered the leak! They were coming to erase all evidence—including the potions and everyone who knew about them.

She called Su Yuewei’s name, but it vanished like a stone in the sea. No response.

Elumeng reached toward where Su Yuewei had stood, fingers grasping nothing—as if she’d never been there.

“Illumination Spell.”

Tense, Elumeng tried to cast light, but her magic wouldn’t form a spell ring.

The whole train must be under a stronger spell.

It blocked light, muffled sound, sealed magic…

“Light…”

My halo!

Elumeng looked up at the soft glow of her halo.

Angelic halos were unique light sources—most suppression spells couldn’t affect them. As an angelic accessory, it illuminated and doubled as storage.

She lifted her hand, removed the halo, and used it like a flashlight.

With its faint glow, she spotted a girl’s silhouette by the halved silver food cart.

It’s Su Yue…

As Elumeng approached, she saw the girl carefully picking potions from the spilled food, slipping them into a spatial bracelet on her wrist.

Not Su Yuewei! This was the cleanup crew!

Elumeng gripped her halo and hurled it at the figure.

“Magic Shield!”

The golden halo smashed into a blue magic barrier. The girl had cast a shield spell, blocking the attack.

Earlier, Elumeng had bullied the attendant with her shield. Now, unable to cast, she got a taste of her own medicine.

“Disgusting!”

The shield repelled Elumeng. As she prepared another strike, the girl noticed her.

The girl waved, vanishing the cart, then fired a magic blade at Elumeng.

Blue light lit the area as the blade shot toward her.

It was so close…

Just as it was about to hit, Su Yuewei lunged from the shadows, tackling Elumeng to the floor. They rolled, dodging the blade.

Elumeng clearly felt Su Yuewei’s racing heartbeat. She opened her eyes, staring at Su Yuewei—and froze.

Black horns sprouted from Su Yuewei’s head, a black heart-shaped tail swayed behind her, her blue eyes now pink with heart-shaped pupils, her face flushed.

Thud!

Su Yuewei sprang up and pounced at the girl.

When darkness fell, Su Yuewei had boldly groped her way to the cart and snatched a syringe.

She’d planned to use it later to counterattack Elumeng, but then saw the halo smash into the shield.

Elumeng clearly knew magic—she’d just crushed the attendant without it. If she couldn’t cast now, something was wrong!

Without thinking, Su Yuewei injected herself, successfully saving Elumeng from the blade.

Clearly, the potion worked better on her than the attendant. Her form now closely resembled a succubus from her old world’s stories.

Su Yuewei extended her pale hand. A spell glow flickered, and a pink heart shot from her fingertip toward the girl.

“What is…”

The girl raised her shield, but the heart passed right through, hitting her.

“Hehe~ Weak… weak-willed~ So cute~ Adorable weak-willed~ Charming weak-willed…”

The girl collapsed, mumbling about staying with weak-willed girls forever.

Elumeng gripped her halo and knocked the girl out cold.

That spell… surprisingly effective!

In succubus form, Su Yuewei had instinctively cast it, unsure of its effect beforehand. Her gut just said it would work!

“Yue… Yuewei…”

Su Yuewei looked up at Elumeng’s shocked face… Did she hate this form?

She recalled the bound attendant and Elumeng’s expression—disgust, right?

She turned to flee into the darkness, vanishing from Elumeng’s sight.

“Woo.”

Her body went limp, an unfamiliar sensation flooding her.

As she tried to escape, Elumeng grabbed her heart-shaped tail. Besides the tail, Elumeng spotted small demon wings on her back.

“Let go of my tail! It’s not your toy!”

Watching her tail coil around Elumeng’s fingers, Su Yuewei’s face burned red from the overwhelming feeling. She stomped angrily—but stepped on the dead attendant’s body.

She slipped backward, pulling Elumeng, whose finger was tangled in the tail, down with her.

Su Yuewei hit the cold floor, Elumeng landing atop her. They stuck together like taffy.

“I can feel your heartbeat~ Little Yuewei~”

Elumeng blew into Su Yuewei’s ear. Their hearts were so close, each could feel the other’s pulse.

But the sound-blocking spell still held, so Su Yuewei couldn’t hear Elumeng’s words—only the warm breath on her ear.

Their faces were inches apart… Su Yuewei felt Elumeng’s breath clearly. She tried to push her off, but Elumeng didn’t budge.

She flashed a mischievous grin, looking down at the pinned Su Yuewei.

Too… too mean!

Su Yuewei glared puffily. She’d just saved her, and this was her reward?

Glancing around, she spotted Elumeng’s halo on the floor—the only light source until the light-blocking spell lifted…

So Su Yuewei controlled her tail, wrapping it around the halo and shoving it beneath herself, pinning it down.

“Woo…”
