Chapter 6: No Need to Waste Energy on a Pervert

In terms of appearance, Na Naya and Peggy had a lot in common.

For instance, both had white hair.

Na Naya’s was long, while Peggy’s was short.

Both had petite, loli-like builds, standing at one-meter-five.

(Of course, both were adults!)

(Well, everyone was an adult here, even the babies—oh, that’s just the invisible hand at work.)

“What do you mean, your type?”

Sensing the conversation veering into dangerous territory, Meng Linna tried to interrupt.

But her efforts were, of course, futile.

“Just what it sounds like.”

Na Naya flashed an innocent smile.

“After all, Scumbag Sister can’t control herself. She always ends up targeting petite girls, right?”

“What are you implying?”

Meng Linna’s expression turned annoyed.

After all, Peggy was also a petite girl.

“Implying something wrong?”

Na Naya blinked.

“Need me to spell it out?”

“No, thanks…”

This was blatant blackmail!

If Meng Linna said more, Na Naya would definitely spill what she did before.

She had no choice but to back down.

“Oh, Miss Na Naya seems to have misunderstood our relationship.”

The two had been bickering so much that Peggy, silent on the side, was almost forgotten.

“If anything, I’d be the one unable to resist making a move on Xiao Meng.”

Peggy gave an innocent smile.

Her two long fangs reminded them of her vampire identity.

“Speaking of which, Xiao Meng’s blood smells so good. I’ve always wanted a taste, but she keeps refusing.”

Her face showed regret.

“I don’t want to become a vampire.”

Meng Linna shifted her butt, putting some distance between her and Peggy.

“So go find someone else.”

“Such a pity…”

On the other side, Na Naya’s eyes darkened.

She’d hoped to provoke Peggy into leaving Meng Linna.

But their relationship wasn’t as easy to break as she thought.

“…”

A nameless anger burned in Na Naya’s heart.

This woman had hurt her so badly before.

Yet she could still live so carefree?

Na Naya couldn’t quite figure out her own feelings.

Was it a desire for revenge?

Or a need to prove she’d moved past her old wounds?

She clenched her fists.

In the end, she said nothing.

Just then, her system sent a new notification.

[Host, today’s daily special has been refreshed!]

‘Right, I’m chosen by the system.’

‘I’m destined to become a saintess.’

‘No need to waste energy on this pervert…’

Na Naya finally smiled.

“We’re finally here.”

Professor Elim jumped off the carriage first.

Her three graduate students followed, looking listless.

No one could fully explain how dungeons formed.

People only knew these strange terrains appeared randomly in uninhabited areas.

They endlessly spawned monsters until someone defeated the dungeon’s boss.

There had been tragedies where dungeon monsters overran villages.

But as people learned their patterns, these monster-spawning terrains became cash cows.

Defeated monsters were treasure troves.

Adventurer guilds often hired professionals to hunt in nearby dungeons.

Monster corpses were sent to slaughterhouses, processed into materials on assembly lines.

This was the so-called dungeon economy.

But this dungeon was different.

Being so close to the city, Yanan’s adventurer guild had no interest in developing it.

They sent people to defeat the boss instead.

Without a boss, the dungeon would likely vanish within a year.

So they had to hurry and mine its resources.

“This is the Jarvis Dungeon. If you need a ride back, call me!”

The coachman left his card and drove back toward Yanan.

The group was left at the dungeon entrance.

“Everyone, gather round. Let me explain the situation!”

As the leader, Professor Elim clapped her hands, signaling everyone to come closer.

Once they gathered, Elim stood on a rock and began the mission briefing.

“First, this mission is very important. Our main task is to identify the types and quantities of minerals in the dungeon. Time is tight, and the task is heavy.

We’re close to the city, but to save time on travel, we won’t return daily. We’ll camp at the dungeon’s outskirts instead!”

“Huh?”

The graduate students started whispering.

“Sounds nice, but isn’t this just to save on daily transport and lodging costs?”

“Don’t make wild guesses!”

Elim glared at the student who spoke.

“Do you know how important this mission is? This is a major project led by Yanan University, funded by the adventurer guild…”

Meng Linna didn’t care.

She was here for the money.

For a D-rank adventurer, one silver coin a day was hard to come by.

No reason to complain.

“Here’s the plan. We wake at six each morning, enter the dungeon before sunrise. We leave at six in the evening after sunset to rest.

Today, we’ll explore the dungeon first.Leave your stuff at the entrance and set up camp early!”

Hearing Elim’s plan, the students grumbled sparsely.

But they set their belongings down, preparing to enter the dungeon.

No choice—this was the reality.

A hundred bucks couldn’t hire a laborer, but it could easily get a college student.

The guild had reserved the dungeon.

They left their luggage outside without fear of theft.

Then they entered together.

Since it was the first day, everyone stuck close.

Na Naya led the way with her hammer-spear.

Peggy guarded the rear.

Meng Linna stayed in the middle, protecting Professor Elim.

The dungeon’s boss, reportedly a B-rank Grave Shadow, had already been defeated.

The dungeon had been mostly cleared.

Only a few scattered D-rank monsters hid in corners.

Even Meng Linna could handle those alone.
