Chapter 6: Repel

Adam shouted loudly!

His sword came down in a flash of light!

Seeing this, Luo Li’s heart almost jumped into her throat.

Just one hit!
Just one clean hit!!

If he could split open Martha’s head, this battle would be over!

But—

Martha actually used the horn on her forehead to push against the silver sword, deflecting it slightly.

That slight interruption was enough. It gave Martha the time she needed to react.

She raised her arm and swung at Adam. But from the start, Adam had already decided to risk his life—he didn’t dodge at all!

The silver cross sword, tilted by the horn’s angle, slashed deep into Martha’s shoulder—down to the bone!

At the same time, Martha’s fist slammed hard into Adam’s stomach.

Adam’s body flew backward, crashing into a street stall and tumbling to the ground.

Martha staggered back two steps and dropped to one knee.

That clash ended in mutual injury—both sides wounded!

The unexpected outcome made Luo Li freeze for a moment. But the other two knights, Belu and Eddy, didn’t relax at all.

Strike while the enemy is weak. You don’t show mercy to demons!

The two Brave Knights dashed forward and appeared beside Martha in a flash—swords glowing like lightning!

But at that moment—

Two bulges suddenly rose on Martha’s back, and black blood sprayed out from them. From the blood, a pair of wings emerged!

Clang clang~

Both swords landed on her wings—but did no damage at all!

Martha’s wings gave a slight shake—and then burst open with force!

The two knights were blown backward by the shockwave!

Whoosh !

Both silver-armored knights hit the ground and quickly fell back in front of the Holy Carriage. At the same time, Adam also got back up, though the armor on his abdomen was completely dented.

Thankfully, he was okay.

Luo Li finally let out a sigh of relief.

At least with these three Brave Knights here—even if they couldn’t defeat Martha, they could stall her and keep her from attacking Luo Li directly.

At last, Luo Li allowed herself a confident smile.

No matter what—victory was certain!

Because in the distance, down the street, two figures glowing with golden light were rushing toward them!

Everyone present noticed the golden glow.

Not counting the one and only Judgment Knight of Glorious City, the eight Guardian Knights were the strongest fighters in the city.

People began to cheer.

“The Guardian Knights are here!”

“Long live the Guardian Knights!”

“Kill the demon!!”

The cheering and shouting made the area in front of the west gate erupt in excitement.

But just then—Martha, realizing things had gone bad, suddenly spread her wings and took off!

She yanked the silver sword out of her shoulder and looked down at Luo Li.

Luo Li looked up without flinching.

Martha slowly mouthed a sentence:

“One day, I’ll kill you.”

Luo Li, still smiling calmly, raised her sword and mouthed back:

“Come try.”

But clearly, Martha didn’t dare approach her now. Seeing the golden light getting closer, she knew she couldn’t stay any longer.

Her bat-like wings flapped, and she quickly flew away from Glorious City.

As the demon woman became just a small black dot in the sky, Luo Li finally relaxed the tension in her heart.

“Guardian Knight Hilda!”

“Guardian Knight Nael!”

“We greet the Saintess!”

A man and a woman, the two Guardian Knights, came before Luo Li.

“My knights, you may rise.”

Hilda stood and looked at Luo Li, eyes filled with guilt.

“Saintess, I’m sorry I came too late and caused you to suffer.”

Beside her, Nael looked at the three tired Brave Knights and asked:

“What happened here? Why were all the Saintess’s powers activated? Did the demon army break through the city?”

Luo Li shook her head. She had just calmed down and really didn’t feel like explaining anything right now. She just wanted to rest.

“Knight Adam will explain. Hilda… take me back to the Sanctuary.”

“Yes, Your Holiness.”

Hilda nodded, jumped onto the carriage, took the reins, and gently asked:

“Saintess, please sit properly.”

Luo Li nodded and stepped back to enter the carriage.

But suddenly, a cold chill crept up her spine—as if she was being watched by a venomous snake.

A feeling of dread made her instinctively turn and look behind her.

But—there was nothing there.

“Your Holiness, is something wrong?”

Hilda didn’t seem to notice anything strange and turned to ask curiously.

Luo Li scanned the area carefully but couldn’t find anything out of place. She shook her head and stepped back into the carriage.

With a light command, the Holy Carriage began to move, heading back to the Sanctuary.

But what Luo Li didn’t know was…

In the shadows near the city wall, a silver-armored knight slowly lifted his head, watching the departing Holy Carriage and muttering quietly:

“Martha failed. Looks like it’s my turn now. I have to report this to Lord Zuka immediately.”

After speaking, the figure slowly disappeared into the crowd.

Meanwhile, inside the moving Holy Carriage…

Luo Li sheathed her Sword of Chastity, then placed the Moon Banner back into her storage space. The feeling of exhaustion after surviving the ordeal made her legs go soft, and she slumped onto the bed inside the carriage.

Only now did she realize—her back was completely soaked with sweat.

Her clothes clung to her skin. A breeze came through the window, bringing a slight chill.

She understood—this was just the beginning.

This world was far too cruel to her—and to all women.

Even though the danger had passed, it was only for now.

The real threat was still outside the city—in the endless demon army.

She vaguely remembered…
This time, the army was led by only one Demon General.

Luo Li looked out at the distant sky. As her class skill duration ended, the heavens returned to daylight. White clouds drifted gently across the blue sky.

Her heart was filled with complex emotions.

So many changes had caught her off guard—but at least, for now, it ended in her favor.

Sitting on the soft bed, she finally had the presence of mind to examine herself.

She stood and walked to the mirror.

The Holy Carriage was enchanted with a magical formation that made it stable even on rough roads—there wasn’t the slightest bump.

In the mirror, she saw herself.

Silver-white long hair. A pure gold crown on her head. A white and silver Saintess robe that flowed elegantly to the floor.

She glanced behind her—the long robe trailed across the floor but didn’t pick up a speck of dust. The whole robe was enchanted with divine spells.

To some extent, it could block damage. It didn’t even need washing.

Digging through the original Saintess’s memories, Luo Li sighed helplessly.

This poor Saintess only had three identical robes. Not even a proper set of armor.

Basically, she was just a mascot—someone to be placed in the Sanctuary for the public to admire and worship.

But this wasn’t Disneyland!

Luo Li clenched her fists, a fire of resolve burning in her heart.

“I, Luo Li, will never surrender!”
