Ornate wall decorations adorned the room, alongside exquisite furnishings that clearly cost a fortune.
Ever-burning lamps cast a brilliant glow, illuminating every corner.
“Liars! A pack of liars! ‘Senior pharmacists second only to the royal court’ they call themselves? All they do is the same tired old tricks, endlessly reciting the pharmacopoeia. They’re nothing but useless hacks who can only parrot books!”
The elegantly dressed girl with long black hair muttered indignantly, her anger palpable as she kicked the corner of a nearby table.
Standing respectfully behind the girl was a tall, red-haired female knight in a black uniform. With a helpless expression, she pleaded, “Princess, please don’t take your anger out on the table. What if you hurt your leg?”
Daelothys, currently twelve years old, was the Third Princess of the Kingdom of Sollefr and the most doted-upon little princess in the kingdom.
Her mother had passed away early in her childhood, and her dearest wish was to fulfill her mother’s dying request: to become the most formidable pharmacist.
The little princess was undeniably cute and of noble birth; her demeanor and etiquette were impeccable. She enjoyed immense popularity among the kingdom’s citizens.
However, in private, the little princess often revealed a side of herself quite different from her public persona.
Like at this very moment.
“Those useless pharmacists! If all you do is recite the pharmacopoeia, what good are you to me? The royal library’s pharmacopoeias are infinitely more advanced than anything you know!”
“I only politely called you ‘teacher’ out of respect for your seniority. Do you really think you’re someone important? Don’t you have any idea how limited your own abilities are?”
“And you even dared to give me homework? To design a rapid-healing topical potion that won’t cause adverse reactions, and you expect to check it next class? Ridiculous! I learned that sort of thing when I was nine years old, alright?!”
“I don’t know what Father was thinking, hiring people like *them* to be my teachers. Couldn’t he have found a Royal Pharmacist or a Hero Mentor instead?!”
The female knight respectfully replied, “Princess, Hero Mentors hold esteemed positions; His Majesty cannot simply summon them at will.
Furthermore, the Royal Pharmacists are currently at their busiest, preparing supplies for the warriors of the expeditionary force. They simply cannot spare the time.”
“So Father just hired some useless people to placate me?” Daelothys pouted, utterly displeased.
The female knight patiently explained, “Princess, His Majesty also has his difficulties…”
“Enough, enough!” The princess waved her hand dismissively. “Tong Ya, I don’t want to hear a lecture.”
“In that case, Princess, would you like to bathe? The bathroom has already been prepared.”
“Alright, I’ll take a bath and then go to sleep. I’ve been in the alchemy workshop all day, and I reek of herbs.”
The royal bathroom was an enormous, hall-sized structure, located beside the princess’s bedchamber.
It was a single-story building, with hot water supplied around the clock and maintained by magic.
The entire pool surface was paved with marble.
The roof was supported by over a dozen ornate pillars, each so massive it would take six people to encircle one. The entire bathhouse was resplendent and magnificent, truly exuding royal grandeur.
Under the female knight’s attendance, Daelothys shed her clothes and formal gown, revealing her fair, tender body. She then slowly stepped into the bathhouse.
A beauty entering the bath, a vision of delectable grace.
“Princess…”
Daelothys heard a distinct gulp from behind her.
“What is it, Tong Ya?”
The female knight knelt on one knee at the edge of the bath, her face slightly flushed. “Would you like me to scrub your back?”
“No, you don’t! Get out! Now! Immediately! At once!”
Hearing the princess’s furious command, the female knight reluctantly cast one last glance at the little princess’s delicate form, submerged in the pristine bathwater. She then slowly retreated, closing the bathroom door behind her.
“‘Although I couldn’t personally touch Her Royal Highness’s jade body, it was worth it just to feast my eyes. It wasn’t in vain that I sent all the maids away.’ A satisfied smile spread across the female knight’s face.
Whenever she thought of Daelothys’s alluring, yet undeveloped, delicate figure, the female knight would feel grateful for her past decision.
She had chosen to forgo joining the expeditionary force and instead remain as the princess’s personal knight.
Just then, Daelothys’s voice echoed from within the bathhouse: “Tong Ya!”
“Princess, I’m here.”
“I command you! Now, move away from the bathroom door, get one hundred meters from here! No, wait! Go to my room and await orders!”
“Huh?” The female knight paused, momentarily stunned. She quickly responded, “But then no one will be protecting you!”
“I don’t need anyone! There are so many guards outside the royal city; is someone going to fly in from the sky?”
“Ugh… very well, Princess.” The female knight could only comply, albeit reluctantly.
