The bitter and slightly sweet taste of the medicine still lingered on the tip of her tongue, but Su Cheng no longer had the strength to scold the girl before her.
She was completely sunk into the bedding, her fever-flushed face like a ripe cherry that looked as if it would drip juice with a single touch.
Lin Shiyue’s soft fingertips gently pinched Su Cheng’s cheek, making Su Cheng frown slightly in pain.
Her gaze upon Su Cheng was as gentle as water, like the warm sun in winter.
Su Cheng’s eyelids were half-closed, her lashes dotted with tiny beads of water.
She wanted to say something, but her throat felt like it had been scraped by sandpaper, only able to produce a whimper as faint as a breath.
Lin Shiyue heard it and leaned in closer, “Do you want more water?”
Su Cheng gave the slightest of nods, but then quickly shook her head.
It was because she saw Lin Shiyue’s triumphant smile as she picked up the water bottle and took two gulps herself.
“No… I don’t…”
Lin Shiyue once again pressed her tongue, which had just held the fever medicine, against her teeth.
The sweet taste spread once more, and Su Cheng’s fingertips crumpled the bedsheet into tiny wrinkles.
The words she had yet to speak were drowned in a flood of fragrance.
When they parted again, Su Cheng’s eyes had already lost their focus.
In her dazed state, she heard Lin Shiyue’s soft chuckle, “Feeding you like this helps the fever go down faster.”
Su Cheng’s dizzy mind couldn’t think; she just stared blankly at the ever-smiling Lin Shiyue before her.
A faint blush was creeping up her slender neck, like a vine gradually spreading across her face.
Lin Shiyue gently leaned down, stopping at a distance where her breath could just brush against Su Cheng’s cheek.
“Chengcheng, you’re sweating so much, your clothes are all wet. Let me help you change.”
“You… don’t you dare do anything funny… I’m already sick, and you still want to bully me.”
Su Cheng’s weak and feeble scolding held no threat in Lin Shiyue’s eyes.
Her warm palm cupped Su Cheng’s flawless, crimson cheek as she gave a relaxed smile.
“I know, I won’t bully you anymore.”
Su Cheng panted heavily and slid down into the blankets, revealing only a pair of eyes clouded with a faint haze.
“I hope you mean what you say.”
She could no longer trust Lin Shiyue’s words one hundred percent.
It seemed that every ex-girlfriend she’d encountered so far was prone to lying.
“Alright, alright, I swear. I absolutely won’t bully Chengcheng.”
Lin Shiyue climbed off the bed, took the washbasin to the bathroom to fill it with hot water, a pathological smile flashing across her face.
‘Hmph, hmph, my little baby, you’re mine…’
Yin Xuelian had already kissed Su Cheng right in front of her; naturally, Lin Shiyue refused to fall behind.
Rather than leaving this fertile field for others to covet, it was better to eat her fill and have a taste first.
No matter what, the first bite always tastes better than the last.
She carried the basin filled with hot water back to Su Cheng’s bedside.
After wringing the excess water from the towel, Lin Shiyue once again climbed the ladder and came to Su Cheng’s side.
“Alright, sit up.”
While helping Su Cheng up, she took the opportunity to touch her forehead.
“It seems the fever has gone down a bit. Are you feeling any better?”
“Mm, much better.”
Su Cheng’s cheeks were still crimson, though the blush had faded slightly, and her face wasn’t as hot.
“It seems my special way of feeding you medicine is quite effective.”
“You still have the nerve to mention that.”
Lin Shiyue grinned smugly, but Su Cheng looked at her as if she were an idiot.
‘If we’re talking about the reason my temperature went up, a part of it is because of Lin Shiyue.’
Lin Shiyue quickened her movements, moving behind Su Cheng and grabbing the hem of her shirt, intending to help her take it off.
“Lift your arms, or how am I supposed to take this off?”
“I can do it myself, don’t be in such a hurry.”
“It’ll be faster if I help you.”
Faced with Lin Shiyue’s impatience, Su Cheng was truly at a loss and could only cooperate by raising her arms.
A cunning smile appeared on Lin Shiyue’s pretty face, a dark undercurrent swirling in her eyes.
‘Question: What’s the most satisfying way to take off clothes?’
‘Answer: Of course, it’s most satisfying to strip someone else’s clothes off for them.’
That was what Lin Shiyue thought, and that was what she did.
“Ah!”
Su Cheng was suddenly bare. Even her chest wrap was gone. After an instinctive cry of surprise, her hands immediately flew to cover her chest.
Fortunately, she still had her shorts on.
Her porcelain-white back was truly stunning. Lin Shiyue, who considered her own skin to be quite good, found herself staring at Su Cheng’s fair, tender back for a good while.
Then she saw the dark red mark left on her shoulder; it was an eyesore.
She hadn’t noticed it before, but the closer she looked, the more something felt wrong.
“Chengcheng, what happened to your shoulder? Right here.”
“Here?”
Feeling the light press of Lin Shiyue’s fingertip, Su Cheng frowned in puzzlement.
‘Before it was my neck, how did it get to my shoulder now?’
After thinking it over, there was only one answer.
‘That damn Hajilian did it!’
‘Damn it, playing dirty with me, are we?’
This time, Su Cheng couldn’t say it was a mosquito bite.
“I scratched it. It was itchy, so I scratched it.”
Lin Shiyue was half-convinced, rubbing her fingertip over the mark a few more times, unable to find anything else amiss.
Unsure if it was because the air conditioning was too cold or because she was scared, Su Cheng’s delicate body couldn’t help but tremble.
“Shiyue, hurry up, I’m cold.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll believe you this time.”
The warm towel touched Su Cheng’s back, and the sudden warmth made her eyes widen uncontrollably.
That warmth seemed to carry the heat from Lin Shiyue’s palm as it roamed over her back.
“Your skin is so nice, I’m really jealous.”
Lin Shiyue admired the pristine, beautiful back, a hint of envy in her bright eyes.
“There’s no use being jealous. Do you want to take it and use it?”
“It’s not that serious. Lift your arms, quickly.”
“Can… can I not lift them?”
Lin Shiyue’s tone left no room for argument, “Of course not. Hurry up.”
Su Cheng reluctantly raised her arms. Without their protection, the great plains were exposed, vulnerable to invasion at any moment.
Although Lin Shiyue had seen her bare upper body in her past life, the current her was not the old Su Cheng.
The shame of being topless in front of someone else was many times greater than it had been in her past life.
“Hngh…”
As the soft towel brushed past her armpit, Su Cheng couldn’t help but close her eyes and let out a whimper as light as a breeze.
“Gently…”
“I know.”
Both arms were quickly wiped clean. Just as Su Cheng was about to lower her arms and re-establish her defenses, Lin Shiyue beat her to it, launching a sneak attack on her Pearl Harbor.
“Waah, Shiyue, what-what-what are you doing?”
“This part needs to be wiped too. What are you shy about?”
Lin Shiyue could no longer suppress the triumphant smirk on her face, laughing mischievously as a pathological flush quietly bloomed on her cheeks.
But Su Cheng was oblivious to all of this.
Unconsciously, she felt a soft touch on her back; she could feel the warmth even through the thin fabric.
“Hngh…”
Lin Shiyue was galloping her horse across the plains, riding in circles.
Su Cheng, biting her teeth and pressing her lips together, could only let Lin Shiyue do as she pleased.
She was like fish on a chopping block, to be played with however one pleased.
“Are… are you not done yet?” a low, hoarse, and shy voice echoed between the two of them.
“Not yet. I have to wipe you down properly.”
The gentle, soft voice echoed by her ear, and the heat that had just subsided on Su Cheng’s fragrant cheeks began to rise again.
Her jaw, which had just relaxed, clenched shut once more, not wanting to make a single sound.
If Su Cheng could see the crimson flush on Lin Shiyue’s face, she would definitely be frightened.
The faint fragrance lingering around her nose had been tugging at Lin Shiyue’s heartstrings for a long time. Overwhelmed with emotion, she couldn’t stop herself from lowering her head.
“Chengcheng, you smell so good…”
The soft whisper dissipated, and Su Cheng only felt a weight on her shoulder, followed by a wet sensation.
The sudden feeling made Su Cheng let out a low cry of alarm, her face burning red.
“What-what are you doing!”
“Let me hug you, baby.”
The moment the form of address changed, alarms immediately went off in Su Cheng’s mind, entering a state of high alert.
It all happened in an instant. Lin Shiyue pressed one hand on Su Cheng’s chest and wrapped her other arm around Su Cheng’s smooth stomach, her body held firmly under Lin Shiyue’s control.
Coupled with the fact that she had just recovered and didn’t have much strength, she simply wasn’t strong enough to break free from Lin Shiyue’s grasp.
And at this moment, Su Cheng finally understood. She had been stepping into Lin Shiyue’s trap all along.
Everything she had done was for this very moment.
‘Hajiyue! I’m not done with you!’
