Hello everyone, this is Hakoniwa White Rabbit.
As March 2025 draws to a close, I will have officially completed two years on my writing journey.
In just two more months, I will be graduating from university and transitioning to full-time writing.
Mo Qiu and Bai Chen, too, have accompanied me through a truly memorable period.
Over these past two years, I’ve likely started a double-digit number of books, yet their performance consistently fell short, repeatedly prompting me to consider giving up.
After ‘Miss Demoness’ achieved a modest success, I mistakenly believed I had found my stride.
Instead, my next attempt bombed so spectacularly that even its own mother wouldn’t recognize it.
When I began writing this current book, I even entertained the thought that if it, too, failed, I would lay down my pen for good.
Fortunately, a turning point arrived.
This marks my second completed novel to surpass a million characters, and its performance is three times that of my previous work, ‘Miss Demoness’.
Such significant progress unequivocally proves that I am, indeed, capable of making a living from writing.
It’s simply that I possess no world-shaking talent, nor have I been blessed with sudden, immense traffic.
While I’ve been writing for two years, a friend of mine has already completed an S-rank novel, earning a substantial fortune, whereas I am still merely at the nascent stage of my upward trajectory.
The time and effort I must dedicate are far greater than what others invest, yet as long as I continue to make progress, I shall never cease my endeavors.
Emulating that illustrious author, I have also set a few modest life goals for myself:
1. Complete a novel that achieves a ‘thousand average subscriptions’ (TL Note: A benchmark in Chinese web novel publishing, referring to a novel with an average of 1000 paid subscriptions per chapter, indicating significant popularity and revenue).
2. Complete an A-rank novel.
3. Complete a novel spanning two million characters.
4. Complete an S-rank novel.
With these objectives firmly in sight, I now have a clear direction for my efforts, and I shall no longer feel lost.
As long as my finger bones remain unbroken, even if tenosynovitis flares up, I will not stop!
It was also while writing this book that my casual chat group swelled with new members, allowing me to forge many new friendships.
My heartfelt thanks go out to all the group members for your unwavering support!
It is your passion alone that fuels this Rabbit’s (TL Note: The author refers to themselves by their pen name, ‘Hakoniwa White Rabbit’.) drive to press forward!
Some group members (you can find the group number in the pinned comment section) have approached me, asking if I could write a bit more.
Completing a book feels akin to bidding farewell to an old friend—a bittersweet moment filled with reluctance and profound emotion.
But my friends, look ahead, for I am already returning to you with my new book in hand!!
For the next few days, I will be updating the after-story, which comprises five chapters, with one chapter released each day.
I will also take these few days to rest thoroughly, and once the after-story concludes, I will launch my new book.
I hope you will all continue to support me then.
Ah, I will forever love my readers! (TL Note: The author is making a finger heart gesture.)
