“Can you get off me already!” Elumeng stood at the train door’s edge, helplessly patting the koala-like Su Yuewei clinging to her.
The girl hanging on her shook her head, burying her face in Elumeng’s chest, arms locked around her waist, terrified of performing a mid-air stunt or free fall.
And… Su Yuewei wasn’t just afraid of dying—she was scared of heights. Before and after transmigrating, looking down from high places made her legs turn to jelly.
She pressed her head deep into Elumeng’s embrace. If she couldn’t see, she wouldn’t be scared!
Should she just toss her down? Elumeng considered teasing the girl in her arms—she could fly while keeping Su Yuewei safe.
But remembering the darkness, Su Yuewei holding the halo, gently comforting her… Elumeng dropped the idea. She hugged Su Yuewei and leaped off the train.
Whoosh~
Wind roared past their ears as Elumeng held Su Yuewei, plummeting toward the plaza below.
Before Su Yuewei could scream, Elumeng’s wings spread wide.
With each flap, their descent slowed, landing as lightly as a feather.
The academy had set up magic in the sky—if Su Yuewei let go, a float spell would catch her and lower her safely to the plaza.
But Elumeng’s wings weren’t decorative—they were real, capable of sustained flight. She carried both of them without triggering the academy’s spell.
“Don’t look down… relax, I’ve got you!” Warm, strong arms wrapped around Su Yuewei’s waist, filling her with unexpected security.
Elumeng softly soothed the tense girl. As she spoke, her grip on Su Yuewei’s arms and legs loosened slightly, letting her breathe.
She held Su Yuewei and glided down to the empty plaza. She’d planned to fly over the academy, but with Su Yuewei’s fear of heights, she switched transport.
“We’ve landed~” Elumeng stood in the plaza, releasing Su Yuewei and folding her wings, looking helplessly at the girl in her arms.
She’d just teased Elumeng for fearing the dark—now she was the one clinging because of heights.
“Have we reached Featherdome City Witch Academy?” Su Yuewei let go of Elumeng’s legs and arms, awkwardly climbing down.
Her eyes fell on the vast plaza. At its center stood a colorful statue of a girl. Otherwise, it was empty—only a few girls summoning magic brooms and soaring into the sky.
“This plaza is the academy gate. The city you saw earlier? It’s part of the academy too. Featherdome City is the Witch Academy—a massive academy metropolis.”
Elumeng nodded, leading Su Yuewei out of the plaza.
Academy metropolis… Su Yuewei followed, eyeing the towering spires lining the streets—main academy buildings used as offices and dorms.
“Next, we’re getting your work badge, ID, academy witch uniform, and magic tools.” Elumeng pulled Su Yuewei to a barrel of brooms by the road.
Shared academy brooms—free transport for staff and students without vehicles. Elumeng usually flew with her wings.
“Later, show your work badge to borrow these brooms for free.” A blue badge flew from Elumeng’s halo. She grabbed the cord, letting it dangle before the black metal barrel.
The barrel scanned blue light. Verified, a plain red magic broom floated out, hovering beside them.
Su Yuewei sat in front, Elumeng behind. She reached around, holding Su Yuewei’s hands to teach her control.
“No… no need to stick so close…” Elumeng pressed against Su Yuewei’s back, head on her shoulder—intimately close.
Su Yuewei noticed passersby girls’ burning, envious stares. Shy under their gazes, she wanted distance, but Elumeng leaned closer.
Just a koala refusing to let go… now embarrassed by onlookers? Hmph~ Weak-willed!
Elumeng huffed. She wouldn’t listen—she’d crush that useless shame!
“I need to teach you hands-on how to control a magic broom. Do you know how?” Of course, she needed a reason Su Yuewei couldn’t refuse.
Elumeng smiled, guiding Su Yuewei’s hands to the broom’s head. Grip it to move forward, release to stop, lean to speed up…
She patiently taught, serious when it came to her job.
“Seems easy!” After quick lessons, Su Yuewei flew the broom down the empty road.
She leaned forward—the broom sped up. Buildings blurred past, streetlights casting long shadows in their soft glow…
Cool evening wind blew over them. Elumeng released her hands, letting Su Yuewei fly solo, experiencing the joy firsthand.
But before Su Yuewei could accelerate more, Elumeng cast a spell.
“Hair Gel Magic—to keep our long hair from whipping in the wind. I don’t want a mouthful of hair!” Magic permeated every aspect of life here. Most quality-of-life spells had no learning barrier—dominant or submissive, strong or weak.
Life wasn’t about attack or receive.
“Left—it’s close. That white magic tower ahead is HR. All your documents are handled by the academy.” Elumeng had Su Yuewei turn left, then grip and pull up to ascend.
They needed the third floor of the tower.
“Got it! Accelerating~”
“Hello! Miss Elumeng, for flaunting your weak-willed girl and wounding the hearts of single big sisters, you’ve committed intentional harm. Please bring your weak-willed girl to the third floor.”
