In the game world of Blood Hunt Church, the conflict between vampires and the Church had raged for over a millennium.
Centuries of fighting had left countless dead on both sides.
Yet new generations of vampires and Church hunters continued to fight for their respective causes.
They roamed under the cover of night, ready to sacrifice their lives for their beliefs.
Today, few could trace the origins of why these two factions had been mortal enemies for centuries.
People only knew that fanged monster girls cloaked themselves in darkness.
They hunted their prey in the sprawling, noisy city.
Meanwhile, the Church’s hunters were revered as guardian deities.
In the game’s setting, players took on the role of Church hunters, embarking on a series of adventures.
The “Blood Cross” squad, under the Church, was the most popular team among the protagonists.
Its captain was a young woman named Suyue.
Her fiery, captivating appearance and mature, magnetic voice made her a fan favorite.
Of course, in the lore, Suyue’s strength was unmatched among hunters.
At this moment, she was facing off alone against an S-rank vampire, Yelan Noah.
The mall’s customers fled in droves after Suyue fired her first shot.
In this game world, battles between the Blood Hunt Church and vampires were commonplace.
So when clashes erupted, the crowd’s evacuation was practiced and swift.
Suyue wielded dual pistols, firing relentlessly at Noah.
Bullets rained down like a storm, but Noah dodged each one with precision.
As the speeding bullets grazed her hair, Noah could hear the metal slicing through the air.
After emptying both magazines, Suyue took cover behind a load-bearing wall.
Reloading, she taunted, “Why keep dodging, Noah? Not gonna fight back?”
“Oh, please, dear Church hunter. You fired twenty-four shots and missed every one.”
“How do you have time to count? You’d be better off praying.”
Click—
Magazines reloaded, Suyue leaned out, unleashing a second wave of gunfire.
This time, Noah deliberately began closing the distance.
In the previous round, she hadn’t just been dodging.
She was analyzing Suyue’s shooting rhythm.
For a vampire with superior dynamic vision and perception, this wasn’t difficult.
Once she grasped Suyue’s timing, Noah started her counterattack.
She weaved through the hail of bullets with grace, her expression calm.
Her movements and demeanor showed no sign that Suyue’s gunfire pressured her.
In a flurry of twists and turns, Noah closed in on Suyue.
“I’d love to see you begging at my feet.”
The haughty vampire leaped into the air, her right leg lashing out like lightning at Suyue’s neck.
Dual-wielding pistols had one fatal flaw:
Once an enemy got close, the wielder was defenseless.
Suyue’s body was sent flying, crashing through two rows of supermarket shelves before stopping.
Noah landed lightly, brushing dust off her jeans, then sauntered toward Suyue with feline grace.
Suyue lay sprawled, her neck and shoulders numb.
That kick was brutal.
She reached for her dropped pistols, but as her fingertips brushed the grips, Noah kicked them away.
Hands on her hips, Noah pressed the heel of her low boot onto Suyue’s stomach.
Looking down, she sneered, “Humans are just humans. Weak as bugs.”
Suyue gave a mocking chuckle.
She struggled to lift her head, meeting Noah’s eyes. “You call me ruthless? We’re two of a kind.”
“Two of a kind? Don’t make me laugh, Suyue.”
“You know how many lives are on your hands.”
Noah said coolly, “I’ve never killed anyone.”
“A blood-drinking monster saying she’s never killed? You think I’ll buy that?”
“Tch, I don’t care if you believe me.”
Noah glanced at the wall clock.
Though a bullet had chipped its edge, the hands were still legible.
Eight forty-five.
“Fifteen minutes left in the game,” Noah muttered to herself.
She crouched down, leveling her gaze with Suyue’s.
Noah reached out, gently pinching Suyue’s chin, smiling. “I don’t kill, but I hate people interrupting my date with my blood s*ave.”
“So, to teach you a lesson, I think I’ll break one of your arms. That okay?”
“You think you’re so polite?” Suyue raised an eyebrow.
“Hmph, stubborn human. Say goodbye to your right arm.”
Noah’s hand slowly reached for Suyue’s right arm.
But just as she was about to grab it, a sharp gunshot rang out from behind.
Bang—
A silver bullet pierced Noah’s chest without warning.
In that instant, it felt like a fireball exploded in her chest, searing her throat, lungs, and heart.
The intense burning pain spread rapidly through her body.
Blood poured from her chest, and the vampire’s natural healing ability failed completely.
Seeing this, Suyue easily pushed Noah aside and stood up.
She said calmly, “Bone-titanium silver bullets, designed specifically for monsters like you.”
“Where’s that proud healing power now? Where’s that smug attitude?”
Footsteps grew louder from behind.
Noah knew she was surrounded by the Blood Hunt Church.
Clutching her bleeding chest, she turned to the window, gazing at the night outside.
They were on the third floor of the mall.
Even with her healing suppressed, she shouldn’t…
Noah bit her lip, glaring fiercely at Suyue.
She growled, “This shot—I’ll remember it.”
With that, Noah sprinted toward the window.
Gunfire erupted behind her as she ran.
One shot, two, three…
Three bullets struck her legs, but Noah didn’t stop.
Limping, she charged forward, shielding her head with her arms.
Her elbows smashed through the glass, and she leaped out.
“Chase her. Don’t let her escape,” Suyue ordered.
The Blood Cross squad rushed out of the mall, searching for Noah in the vast night.
Suyue walked slowly to the window, gazing at the bright moon above.
Her lips curved slightly as she murmured,
“Noah, let’s see how you survive tonight.”
