“Why did Armil contact me?”
I tilted my head and answered her call.
“Hello? Armil?”
-Yes. It’s been a while. Rachel.
“It has been a while.”
Technically, it hasn’t been that long. I contacted her before going to the banquet.
“What’s the occasion for your call?”
–Nothing much. I just heard from Emily. You’re going to the Demon Realm? As the heir of the Poison King?
“Yes. I’m not sure how much detail you’ve heard, but the situation in the Demon Realm isn’t very good.”
-I heard. They say there are signs that the Demon King is awakening. Is that true?
“Yes.”
She seemed to want to hear it directly from me, asking the same question Emily had already told her. So I nodded firmly and answered.
If I give a vague answer here, Armil, who needs to go all out, might come with a vague mindset as well.
That can’t happen.
-I see. Is that so.
Armil’s voice was lost in thought for a moment. After a brief wait, she delivered surprising news.
-If what you say is true, we need to kill the Demon King first. I’ll try to persuade the other tower masters.
“Really? I’d appreciate that.”
Having even one more Archmage is definitely a good thing.
Even bringing thousands of regular soldiers can’t replace a single Archmage.
Especially unlike knights who excel in one-on-one or small-scale engagements, Archmages have great versatility.
The wide-area magic cast by an Archmage can temporarily alter even the terrain of the location. I hoped she would succeed.
-And the mages from Blazing Castle will probably move as well, how many magic resistance potions can you make?
“I don’t know yet. The difficulty isn’t that high, but some ingredients require high proficiency. It will depend on the proficiency of the alchemists assigned.”
They said they would gather two days before departure, so I can check their levels then.
After that, I had a few more words with Armil and ended the call.
“Phew. Let’s revise the alchemy formulas.”
I opened my notebook.
It contained the recipes for potions that could dispel magic and other potions that could be used in the Demon Realm.
If we go to the Demon Realm, there will definitely be many casualties, and no amount of potions will be enough.
But not all alchemists dispatched there can make potions.
So I need to improve the recipes so that even one more person can make them.
“Even if it means reducing the potency, it’s a gain if the difficulty is lowered.”
I created recipes for those with lower proficiency.
I closed my eyes and imagined the alchemy cauldron.
Although it was just an imaginary event happening in my head, I had been studying alchemy consistently.
The person who taught me was Liela, and surprisingly, Liela had a deep understanding of alchemy.
Well. Considering her age and working for a duke’s family as a member of the Magic Tower. Her skill itself was proven from the start.
Anyway, thanks to that, I could roughly imagine it in my head.
After numerous failures, I was able to get a few meaningful results.
“Change the order, and remove as much as possible. Replacing Ashon extract with Rosodu extract would be good too. And Prapic solution and Danap’s blood will coagulate if mixed, so…”
I immediately wrote down the modified recipes.
A total of seven came out.
“Since I thought of it, let’s make them right away.”
I got out of bed and changed my clothes. I plan to head to the alchemy workshop immediately.
It’s late, but since I don’t have any schedule for a week anyway.
Just as I was about to leave. The door burst open and someone rushed in.
It was Yona.
“Sister!”
“Gah.”
She ran straight in for a body slam.
Thanks to eating a lot and consuming all sorts of medicinal herbs, she had fully regained the weight she had lost due to her illness.
I rubbed my sore belly and hugged Yona.
“Did you have fun?”
“Yeah,”
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
Her reaction is strange.
I looked up and saw Yona’s white eyes filled with tears.
Why, why?
I clearly heard from Emily that she went out to play. And it’s not like someone made her cry, no one would dare to do that to the youngest of the Muelia Duchy’s Family.
I stroked Yona’s head and asked.
“Why are you crying?”
I met her white eyes. Transparent tears flowed down her white cheeks.
I was momentarily flustered.
I gently wiped her tears with my finger.
After waiting for a moment, Yona hugged me again. She buried her face in my chest.
“Sister. You’re going to the Demon Realm, aren’t you?”
“How, how did you know?”
Even a child who can’t reason knows that the Demon Realm is dangerous. So I tried to hide it from Yona.
It’s not like I’m going there to die, I’ll return to the family once the Demon King issue is dealt with.
I mean, we can see each other with smiles.
So I was just going to go.
Forgiveness is easier than permission. As long as I return safely, it’s fine.
“Emily sister told me.”
“Ah…”
It seems Emily gave in to Yona’s charm.
No matter how strong Emily is, she’s too weak against Yona. That’s how deadly Yona’s charm was.
“I’ll come back safely, so don’t worry too much. The Tower Master is going, and other aura masters and soldiers from various nobles will also accompany us.”
“Still.”
“Emily and I will be at the rear of the battlefield anyway. We won’t be directly involved in combat. So stop crying.”
Yona sniffled and wiped her tears with her sleeve. Then she looked at me intently and asked.
Sniffle, sniffle.
“Then when will you come back?”
“Hmm….”
There’s no set time frame.
Our goal is at least until the Demon King’s power subsides. Furthermore, if we can subdue the Demon King, the expedition will try to do so.
How long will it take?
Since I haven’t been to the Demon Realm myself, it’s hard to give a definite answer. So I said a time that was neither too long nor too short.
“One month. Just sleep for thirty nights and you will be fine.”
“Thirty nights?”
Yona’s complexion darkened. Her shoulders slumped, and she looked obviously depressed.
I hugged Yona tightly. Yona’s unique, fragrant scent gently wafted in.
“It won’t be that long. You know the family situation is not good, right?”
“Yes. I know.”
She also knew that the elders were trying to rebel because she was a Muelia.
“Emily is also leaving, so you’re the only one left beside the Duke. He must be having a hard time since the elders he trusted betrayed him. Yona needs to help him well. Can you do it? Our Yona is all grown up now.”
“Sniff. Sniff. I can do it!”
She exclaimed in a nasal voice. Her appearance was so cute that I showered her with kisses.
How can a person be this cute?
Yona didn’t seem to mind, she just stood there without any resistance.
“Shall we sleep together tonight? With Emily too.”
“Yes! Let’s sleep together!”
“Hmm. Okay. If Emily is fine with it, we can sleep together every night for a week.”
Yona’s lips curled up. She tried to hold back her smile, but her lips kept twitching.
“Then let’s get washed up.”
“Yes! I’ll go wash up first.”
Yona’s eyes curved like a bow as she entered the bathroom.
I looked out the window.
The sun had set, and the moon had risen.
Normally, I would have been working hard on potion making until late at night. But I can do that tomorrow.
Right now, comforting Yona is the priority.
Creak.
Yona came out wearing a bathrobe.
“Do you feel refreshed?”
“Yes! I feel refreshed! Sister, you should wash up quickly too!”
“Just a moment. Let me dry your hair first.”
I started drying her hair.
After applying basic lotion, I went into the bathroom.
I washed up quickly.
It’s not like I’m taking a bath, I want to spend as much time as possible with Yona before going to the Demon Realm.
“Phew.”
The cool outside air enters through the gaps in the gown. The cool air felt good.
“Sister. I’ll dry your hair for you!”
Yona went behind me as I sat on the bed and started drying my hair.
It was still awkward.
Of course.
Most noble daughters have their maids wash them and dry their hair.
Yona probably rarely dried her own hair. Still, I found that clumsiness cute.
“Shall we ask Emily now?”
“Yes!”
I picked up Yona and knocked on Emily’s door.
Knock, knock!
“Come in.”
I opened the door and entered.
Emily was sitting at her desk, working as usual.
I’ve been feeling it lately, but that look is quite sexy.
With her goddess-like beauty and intelligence combined, her charm seems to be enhanced even more.
Anyway.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts and stated the purpose of my visit.
“Yona wants to sleep together for a week starting today. Is it okay with you?”
“Yona?”
Emily looked back and forth between me and Yona and then put down her pen.
“I’ll go wash up.”
Seeing her agree immediately, it seems Emily wanted to sleep together too. I lay on Emily’s bed and waited for her.
After a while.
The bathroom door opened, and Emily appeared with warm steam and a flushed face.
