The once brightly lit vampire castle now lay in ruins.

Half an hour ago, the Blood Hunt Church had somehow pinpointed the castle’s location.

They launched a sudden artillery assault.

Amid towering barrages and flames, the usually proud vampire girls scattered in panic.

After over twenty minutes of bombardment, the shattered castle grounds echoed with sporadic gunfire (killing resisting vampires) and weak screams.

Those screams could come from vampires or… humans.

Judging by the massive ammunition and firepower coverage, the Church no longer cared about the human blood slaves in the castle.

A few team members tried to dissuade the commanding captain.

But the captain’s response was brutal: two slaps, a kick, and “Get back to your positions! I’ll take responsibility for any issues!”

For some extremist followers, killing hundreds of vampires while “accidentally” injuring or killing a few humans was common and unavoidable.

Compared to “unintentionally killing their own,” the “honor of slaying more vampires” mattered more to these radicals.

It was nearly sunrise, the vampires’ weakest time.

The Church had chosen this moment deliberately, clearly premeditated.

Beyond enough ammunition to level the place, they brought high-power sun lamps.

Powered on, they illuminated the forest like daylight, severely weakening the vampires’ mobility.

Under the double suppression of sunrise and lights, the monster girls couldn’t muster their usual strength.

They were herded like livestock into the Church’s prepared cages.

Two vampires tried to fight back.

But the followers’ bone-titanium silver bullets mercilessly pierced their heads, killing them instantly.

Those who didn’t resist were captured alive, hands and feet shackled with silver chains.

Silver metal was deadly to vampires; bone-titanium silver bullets were an improved version.

The human blood slaves were detained in another area, guarded by followers with conventional weapons.

Before the ruins, a girl slumped on the ground.

A grenade fragment embedded in her calf, raw pain, blood flowing nonstop.

She lifted her head, brows furrowed.

She tried pressing her hands on her calf muscles to stop the bleeding.

But the wound was deep, and the explosion’s shockwave left her body aching.

She had no strength to staunch it.

Pain was her only way to stay conscious now.

She raised her head, gazing into the forest.

Silently praying Luoyao hadn’t returned yet, hadn’t been caught by the Church.

***

“Long time no see, my dear little Luoyao.”

From the crowd, a woman in black combat gear approached Luoyao slowly.

The voice was familiar; Luoyao knew who it was before seeing her face.

“Suyue…”

“Hey, you remember me. Looks like Yelan Noah didn’t brainwash you much.”

Suyue strolled to Luoyao, kneeling halfway, appraising her dust- and blood-smeared face with amusement.

Suyue reached to wipe the blood from Luoyao’s face.

But Luoyao twisted away.

Glaring at Suyue’s eyes, she said with near-menace,

“Don’t touch me.”

Suyue paused, then sneered. “Hah, Luoyao, you think I still want you? Tell you what, girls like you—I can have as many as I want.”

“You’re not afraid of catching something?”

“You—!”

Suyue had no idea what kind of scheming soul hid beneath Luoyao’s harmless exterior.

Every verbal clash with Luoyao, she lost immediately.

Fine.

Even if her wit was sharp, it was just talk.

Suyue roughly grabbed Luoyao’s chin.

No matter how Luoyao struggled, she wouldn’t let go.

“Get this straight, Luoyao—I’m here on behalf of the Blood Hunt Church to rescue you unfortunate humans from vampires.”

“You should be grateful, not talking back.”

Hearing Suyue’s words, Luoyao’s gaze swept the ruins’ incomplete human corpses.

Her heart chilled with disgust.

Luoyao didn’t understand how a life-disregarding psycho like Suyue could be so obsessed with the “savior” role.

Tonight’s assault on the vampire castle, paired with her speech to Luoyao, screamed personal grudge.

Suyue was a complete lunatic.

Luoyao gave up trying to comprehend her twisted psyche.

Seeming because she hadn’t caught Noah yet, Suyue’s already irritable mood escalated.

She grabbed Luoyao’s collar, demanding, “You must know where your girlfriend is, right? Tell me!”

“I don’t know,” Luoyao replied calmly.

The expected answer.

But Suyue wouldn’t give up easily.

She sneered, her right hand darting toward Luoyao’s injured calf.

The closer Suyue’s fingertips got to the embedded fragment, the more she felt Luoyao’s muscles tremble from intense pain.

This was exactly the effect Suyue wanted.

Her lips curled in a creepy smile.

She pressed her right hand slowly over Luoyao’s wound, asking,

“I’ll ask again—where is Yelan Noah?!”

“I don’t know! Ah—!”

Explosive pain shot from her calf, as if countless knives stabbed into her skin at once.

Suyue’s hand pressed hard on the wound.

Sharp fragments cut into her muscle tissue.

Blood gushed from the gaps between Luoyao’s wound and Suyue’s palm.

The pain nearly made her faint, but Suyue gripped her hair tightly.

“Tell me! Where is Yelan Noah?!”

Tears flowed uncontrollably from the excruciating pain.

Luoyao’s lips trembled nonstop.

But she stared into Suyue’s eyes, repeating word by word, “I. Don’t. Know!”

Slap—

A resounding slap landed.

Blood seeped from Luoyao’s mouth, her oral cavity filled with metallic taste.

“Luoyao, your stubbornness doesn’t matter. I won’t kill you—I’ll torment you slowly, slowly, until you tell me where Noah is.”

“Or until she can’t stand it and shows up for some clichéd hero-rescue routine.”

Suyue finished, shoving Luoyao to the ground.

“So… let’s start with your dignity.”

With that, Suyue began violently tearing at Luoyao’s clothes.

The sound of ripping fabric echoed.

Luoyao struggled at first.

But all she got was more ruthless slaps and escalating abuse.

Finally, she closed her eyes helplessly, lying there, letting Suyue trample her dignity.

Luoyao bit her lip hard.

Powerlessness flooded her, drowning her.

She wanted to save herself, but she was helpless.

Her dignity meant nothing before Suyue.

“Come on, little sl*t, let me appreciate your body.

Ah, you really like Yelan Noah, huh? With your personality, you’d never feel desire for anyone but her, right? But now you’re almost stripped bare—doesn’t that excite you?

Tch, this kiss mark on your neck is disgusting. How about… I help you remove it?”

As she spoke, Suyue drew a dagger from her waist.

“Don’t be afraid. I’ll be as gentle as possible, slowly slicing off that patch of skin on your neck. Hehe, hahaha—”

Crack—

In Suyue’s deranged laughter, the two sun lamps behind her suddenly went out.

The team members panicked instantly, forming a back-to-back circle with their submachine guns.

It was still over half an hour until sunrise; the sky was dark, and they didn’t dare let their guard down.

“What happened?!” Suyue turned, yelling into the darkness.

“I-I don’t know—ah!!!”

From the darkness came a team member’s agonized scream.

Then the second, third, fourth…

The sound of blood spurting from severed vessels gradually surrounded Suyue.

In the unseen shadows, it felt like a god of death lurked, slaughtering all who caused this catastrophe.

Suyue stood, gripping her dagger tightly, staring wildly around.

“Noah! I know it’s you! You finally showed up, huh?! Come on, b*tch, let’s settle old and new scores!”

Her answer was still her team members falling one by one.

“Won’t show yourself? Fine, I’ll count to three. If you don’t come out—”

Suyue drew the pistol strapped to her thigh, cocked it, and aimed at Luoyao’s heart.

“I’ll kill her.”
