Red hair and red eyes. The confident woman was the master of Blazing Castle, Armil.
She greeted me warmly.
“Yeah. It’s been a while since we met in person. How have you been?”
“I’ve been doing good as usual. By the way, what are you doing?”
Armil looked around.
A thousand alchemists were sitting at their desks. Those who saw Armil’s face were all astonished.
I smiled bitterly at the completely different reaction from when they saw me earlier.
“It’s nothing much. I’m just teaching them recipes to make potions that can be used in the Demon Realm, like magic resistance potions.”
“Hmm. Really?”
Armil looked around again. Unlike before, sharp insight filled her eyes.
She carefully examined the expressions of the alchemists and smirked.
“It seems like they’re not listening to you. Am I right?”
“Huh? Um…”
I don’t know what to say.
If they had nothing to do with me, I would just say yes, but we have to make potions in the future, and we have to work together whether I like it or not.
I wonder if it would make things worse if I said yes.
‘But, we’re going to part ways once we stop the Demon King anyway. Even if I try to build a relationship with them, I don’t think I can.’
The alchemists were making eye signals at me. I ignored their signs and nodded.
“I think they’re not listening to me because I’m a Baronet.”
“Right? I knew it. Alchemists are more stubborn than you think.”
Armil seems to have a negative view of alchemists too. Well. As a Tower Master, you see all sorts of things.
Armil thought for a moment and flicked her hand.
The red magic from her hand covered the area.
A small red dot appeared on the foreheads of the alchemists.
The alchemists noticed the change in their bodies and kept touching their foreheads.
“What is this? It’s strange? I didn’t have this dot before?”
“Ugh. This is getting hotter and hotter? What the hell did you do to my body!”
“Archmage Armil! What on earth is this! You, an Archmage, used magic on people who can’t even use magic!”
Some were flustered and didn’t know how to react, while others were angry.
I shook my head at those guys.
‘She’s completely crazy. That one.’
If this was Earth, where human rights exist, it would have been a valid response.
In a world where everyone is equal, majority rule is law.
But not here.
There is a huge difference in status between magic users and ordinary people, and Armil is the Queen of those mages.
She is the master of Blazing Castle, which is considered the world’s largest magic tower, and an Archmage who has reached the 8th circle.
And they’re reacting like that to her?
“Hmm. It’s strange. What on earth are they trusting to be so rude to me?”
“I know. I don’t know either.”
“Sigh. This is why I hate alchemists. They must have eaten some poisonous herbs and gone crazy.”
I laughed at Armil’s words. Then I asked about the magic she had just used on them.
“By the way, did you cast some kind of magic?”
“Yeah. It’s nothing much. It’s one of the binding magic that burns them to death if they don’t listen to your orders.”
At that, the eyes of the confused alchemists widened. If Armil’s words are true, it means that they can’t disobey Rachel’s orders from now on.
I also thought it was too much and tried to stop Armil. But Armil said to the alchemists as if it was no problem.
“Do you know why I’m here even though I’m busy with research? It’s because of the Demon King. I came to stop the Demon King’s awakening and for the peace of mankind.
Alchemists. Do you think this situation is a joke? If we lose, the border will be directly breached. Strictly speaking, the fate of mankind and demons will be decided by the previous war.”
It is a much more serious and important situation than a war between humans. Everyone here needs to work together, but what are they doing?
“I’m more curious. Why don’t you want to make a potion that has already been proven effective? You’re not hoping for the demons to win, are you? That’s treason and you can be executed here. Come out. I’ll burn you myself.”
Whoosh.
Red flames surged beside her. The killing intent emanating from Armil engulfed the room.
She sighed and released her magic. Then she continued.
“You must think you’ve risen in status because you, a commoner, can do alchemy in a strict class system? Even though Baronet Arcane Rachel is a Baronet who cannot enter the peerage, she is still a noble.
She even belongs to the Muelia Duchy. You should be grateful that she has overlooked your disobedience to her orders until now.”
At her scolding, the alchemists’ mouths shut. Various emotions were in their eyes. But they held back what they wanted to say.
They thought that if they acted up one more time in this place, they would really die.
“Why? Do you have a problem?”
“…”
“Oh? No answer? Why? Do you think your masters will protect you? Mere underlings of a Marquis? They don’t have the ability, and they won’t have the intention, so let’s cooperate.”
She released her psychokinesis.
The alchemist, who had been clenching his teeth, collapsed to the ground, his legs giving way.
Seeing that it had become quiet, Armil finally sighed and smiled.
“Then, see you alive later.”
“Are you leaving already?”
“Yeah. They’re not fools, so they’ll try to attack before the troops gather.”
I took out a top-grade recovery potion from subspace and gave it to her.
It’s a potion that has improved its efficacy by adding my own method to the existing top-grade recovery potion.
I made it so that it could save a life as long as the person doesn’t die.
“Be careful.”
“I’ll be back. If I come back alive, let’s have a drink.”
Showing her carefree attitude until the end, she disappeared with the flames.
The scene where Armil disappeared. The alchemists, still overwhelmed by her aura and spirit, remained silent.
“Then let’s continue making the potions. You’re all skilled alchemists, so you’ll be able to do it.”
The alchemists looked around, and then they started making potions according to my recipe.
Time went on for a long time.
If there is only a magic resistance potion, the expeditionary force can completely overcome the disadvantages of the Demon Realm.
In other words, this potion is very important in this expedition.
I have to teach them properly when I teach them once, so that high-quality potions will come out, and they can also teach other alchemists.
But there are always exceptions.
As time passed and Armil’s influence faded, some alchemists rebelled.
They slammed the table.
Bang!
“Sigh. Damn it. Isn’t this enough? What else are you teaching? Do you even have that kind of skill in the first place?”
“Who are you?”
“I am Victor, employed as the head alchemist of the Great Hounds Marquisate. I just can’t believe it. I have to learn from someone who is less skilled than me.”
In short, it’s shameful.
About 10 out of 1000 people had similar eyes to him.
‘What should I do.’
According to Armil’s words, I can just kill them. But I’m human.
Burning a person in front of my eyes is a bit, I’m reluctant.
But Victor crossed the line I had set exactly.
“Isn’t the position of Baronet itself something you got by selling your body to an elder? Huh?”
“…”
If you’re going to provoke, you should do it properly. He couldn’t touch Delkarmen, so he mentioned an elder who wasn’t here.
But the part that bothered me was the story of selling my body.
Grind.
I gave my first to the elders who tried to kill me?
They’re crazy.
My patience exploded, and the thread of reason snapped, I opened my mouth.
“It seems that we have no choice but to make an example of some people for the sake of everyone’s unity.”
I muttered quietly, “Die.” Then, the red dot on Victor’s forehead instantly grew and split into dozens of strands.
It filled his entire body with red lines. And soon it started to heat up.
Sizzle.
“Aaaaargh!!!”
His flesh began to burn with white smoke. Victor rolled on the floor to put out the fire, but it was meaningless.
The flames, fueled by Armil’s magic, continued until his screams stopped.
It burned, burned, and burned.
The sight of a human burning alive. It was definitely terrible, but the effect was certain.
Those who were rebelling until just now shut their mouths.
I glared at them sharply, and then I walked between them again and corrected the wrong parts.
So night came, and the class ended without any further casualties.

Again, a lot of this hassle could have been avoided, by just stating who you are.
While the guy who got burnt admittedly crossed the line, I can’t get fault the alchemists in general for getting annoyed at a parachute hire bossing them around.
The mc has no qualifications, no public achievements, nothing. Just a recipe that they can’t verify came from her and the backing of a dukedom. They’re obviously going to be pissy about it, especially those with similar backings.
But, that guy didn’t have to said that line, in this world that would have gotten him killed anyway. If the MC does not do that, then her authority would be at a all time low and rumors will start if what the guy said is true.
I agree that the guy who got burnt deserved it. He went way too far.
But I can not fault common discontent.
Nepotism and Parachute hiring is soul crushing when you’ve experienced it. And considering that Alchemy is a high skill job, it’s even more unacceptable to them.
I think its because Rachel thinking in the long run. She is not the real Heir of Medicine King, she just use it as it is convenient at that time. Although Rachel know some backstory here and there about this world, not necessarily means she know everything.
In ‘If scenario’ that she reveal her title here, I doubt those alchemist would even believe her in the spot. Even if they believe her, it would only complicate things, noble and royality would put their eyes on her, put anyone near her into danger of ‘villain’ who want to get her. Comforting and easy life is thrown out of window the moment she publicize her Heir of Medicine King title.
Moreover, imagine if all this demon king is over, and the real Heir of Medicine King shows up.
Just like she doesn’t know who the Poison King heir is (turned out to be Yona), she also doesnt know the real heir of Medicine King. If at that point public know she been faking her title, how the public opinion would be? To the Emily family reputation? The worst case is if the real heir get hunted as the fake and executed, the world would lose it’s real Medicine King.
By not revealing her status as Heir of Medicine King to the public, she can just apologize to everyone who know it, saying it was necessary at that moment. Thus saving herself SO MANY Problem in the future
