Chapter 9: The Fiend God

In the early morning of the wasteland, the sky was just beginning to turn pale.

The outlines of distant mountains are faintly visible in the gray sky.

Beneath the solid iron curtain steel wall, the area around [Eisenburg] is quite quiet, as always.

However, in the towering watchtower, the experienced sentinel, with the help of his high-precision telescope, captured the unrest at the edge of the territory.

Several furtive groups of armed bandits, like hungry hyenas, were rapidly approaching the fortress’s weak points from different directions, taking advantage of the faint light of dawn and the lingering fog…

Although their equipment was messy, they were numerous and their actions were well-directed and organized.

I don’t know why these guys, who usually only dare to rob lone refugees and small caravans, dare to extend their claws to the sleeping giant [Eisenburg] today.

However, the alarm did not sound inside Eisenburg.

Because Seraphina has already stood at the top of the command tower.

“Queen! Over thirty armed men have been spotted in the northwest, and two forces are gathering in the southeast!”

The sentry’s hurried report came from the communicator.

She stood in front of the huge sand table in the command room, her long silver hair neatly tied into a high ponytail, revealing her slender, snow-white neck.

What’s even more exaggerated is that Seraphina is wearing a set of black heavy combat armor with the emblem of Aisenburg inlaid on her chest.

——A huge steel city with a ferocious appearance.

The woman still had the energy pistol hanging around her waist.

The family crest carved on the gun body shone with a cold luster under the light above.

“Number of people? Equipment situation?” Her voice was calm, as if the enemy attack she had just heard about was just a simple weather forecast for today.

“About eighty people in total, carrying a large number of light and heavy firearms and modified chariots.”

“The other party is suspected to be a mercenary group from the [Golden Rangers] Alliance!”

“A bunch of uncivilized savages…” Seraphina stood up from the main seat and walked to the window of the command room. Her heterochromatic eyes stared coldly at the black spots below that were wriggling like ants.

The woman didn’t even turn her head, her voice filled with chilling murderous intent:

“Evelyn.”

“Yes, Your Majesty!” The silver-armored adjutant stood at attention and asked, “Do you need artillery fire?”

“No need.” Seraphina’s tone was filled with a hint of annoyance. “A bunch of flies who don’t know how to live or die.”

Then he turned around and swept his sharp eyes over all the officers present.

“You’re just colluding with the evil. Do you think you’re serious just because you attacked a small river valley?”

“Notify the First Armored Battalion to assemble. All personnel must arm themselves. I will lead the team personally.”

“Since these bugs dare to disturb my peace…”

“Then let them stay on this land forever.”

The adjutant and everyone else bowed their heads and responded, “As you command!”

Fifteen minutes later, the steel gate of [Eisenburg] slowly opened with a teeth-grinding sound of metal friction.

A huge armored command vehicle roared its engine and rushed out first.

The heavily modified car body is as black as night.

The armor plates were covered with hideous rivets and weld marks, and the heavy machine gun ammunition belt installed on the roof swayed slightly, making a pleasant crisp sound.

Following closely behind them were dozens of equally majestic heavy tanks…

The wheels and tracks rolled over the hard ground, gravel splashed, and a roar that made the earth tremble.

Seraphina personally drove the command vehicle, and stared indifferently through the bulletproof glass at the enemy’s gradually becoming clearer in front of her.

The bandits drove tattered modified vehicles with various scrap metal pieces welded onto the bodies as armor. They looked like a group of stray dogs that had just crawled out of a garbage dump.

“First squad, outflanking on the left flank, smash them.”

“Second squad, make a detour to the right flank and cut off their retreat.”

She gave the order through the communicator, her voice frighteningly cold:

“remember–“

“Don’t leave anybody alive.”

The group of chariots spread out in an orderly and smooth manner across the foggy wasteland, splitting into two groups.

When the distance was shortened to 500 meters, the bandits finally discovered the existence of this steel torrent.

They hadn’t anticipated Eisenburg’s swift and brutal response, even sending out an armored vehicle regiment…

Everyone hurriedly turned the car around to avoid a head-on collision, but it was too late.

Seraphina stepped on the accelerator, and the leading command vehicle rushed towards the enemy group like a missile.

She held the steering wheel with one hand, pulled out the energy pistol from her waist with the other, and lowered the car window…

Bang–!

The first gunshot tore through the tranquility of the wilderness.

A blue-white beam of energy shot out from the muzzle, instantly and accurately piercing through the fuel tank of a modified tank.

The fireball of the explosion shot up into the sky, and broken car parts fell like raindrops.

Then, she hit the rickety car in front of her, sending it spinning in the air, with people constantly being thrown out…

“Fire. Free fire!”

boom–!

Boom boom——!

The main guns on all heavy tanks fired simultaneously.

The shells streaked across the sky like meteors, exploding into flowers of death among the bandits’ array.

Mud and flesh flew everywhere, and screams and curses rang out one after another.

Seraphina’s command vehicle careened across the battlefield, her driving prowess astonishing…

The seemingly bulky armored vehicle was in her hands, moving flexibly and smoothly through the dense rain of bullets.

A bandit stuck his upper body out of the window, holding a rocket launcher and aiming at her car.

But before he could pull the trigger, he was hit in the head by a precise energy beam, and his entire head was instantly vaporized…

“This damn crazy woman!” A bandit leader with scars all over his face roared and fired wildly at the command vehicle with a heavy machine gun.

Seraphina sneered, swerved the steering wheel, and slid the car sideways to avoid the dense barrage of bullets.

Bang——

Without a second thought, she allowed an enemy car to act as a speed bump for her command vehicle, then flung open the door and leaped out into the high-speed traffic.

The figure in black heavy armor was as graceful and deadly as the god of death in the air, and his long silver hair fluttered in the wind like a battle flag.

She kicked Scarface’s hood directly, smashing the front of their car and bringing it to a sudden stop.

The moment he landed, he fired three shots in a row—

The three bandits responded by merging into the leather seat, their chests pierced and smoking…

Scarface was terrified when he saw this and raised his gun to shoot.

But Seraphina is faster!

The giant armored hand shattered the windshield like lightning, and glass and iron pieces hit him in the face, causing him to wail in pain, and the pistol fell onto the floor mat.

She grabbed Scarface’s wrist with her left hand and pulled him out of the passenger seat, pressing the energy pistol in her right hand against his temple.

“Please… please… spare my life… I… I have a child!” Scarface, with blood all over his face, begged for mercy tremblingly.

“child?”

Seraphina tilted her head, a playful look flashing in her heterochromatic eyes, as if she was watching some interesting performance.

Her voice was as soft as a feather, yet chilling: “That’s a pity.”

“Regrets…?”

“They’re going to be orphans.”

Bang–!

The energy beam melted directly through Scarface’s head.

The latter’s body fell straight down, and his life force instantly disappeared.

The battle lasted less than ten minutes before it was over.

No suspense.

Over eighty bandits were killed, and not a single one of the armored regiment was even scratched…

Their bodies were scattered across the wasteland, and their blood dyed the dry earth red.

The shattered wreckage of the chariot was still burning, and billowing black smoke rushed into the sky.

Seraphina stood in a sea of corpses and blood, her black armor splattered with the blood of the enemies.

But her expression was calm as water, as if she had just stepped on a few ants.

She wiped the blood from her cheek with the back of her hand, leaving a bright red mark on her pale skin.

“Clear the battlefield and confiscate all valuable equipment.” She ordered her men.

“Burn the bodies on the spot and don’t pollute our land.”
