Chapter 3: Attack!

Guardian Knight—this was a title in the Holy Church, used to classify the ranks of knights. It was also a mark of honor.

Knight ranks were divided into seven levels:

  • Holy Knight

  • Judgment Knight

  • Guardian Knight

  • Brave Knight

  • Loyal Knight

  • Knight of Hope

  • Diligent Knight

From top to bottom, each rank was separated by ten levels. The lowest rank, Diligent Knight, started at Level 10.

A Brave Knight, for example, was already Level 40—a powerful veteran.

However, even if a human and a demon were the same level, the demon would still be far stronger.

Martha had already become a demon. And Luo Li remembered—her starting level was 30.

In other words, in the current Glorious City, besides the Eight Guardian Knights and the Judgment Knight,

there was basically no one who could defeat Martha one-on-one.

That was also why Luo Li hadn’t tried to resist.

She was a Level 30 boss!

While Luo Li was just Level 1!

There was no other choice now!

If Martha took her out of the city, her fate would become something unspeakable and censored.

Even death would be a luxury.

Right now, she had to bet everything on this one chance!

If Martha won, then she might as well die here and be buried along with Glorious City!

Outside the carriage, Adam furrowed his brow—but because his back was to Martha, she couldn’t see the change in his

expression.

“So that’s how it is… It seems Her Holiness is also in a difficult position.”

Adam sighed and looked toward the city gates.

“Her Holiness the Saintess is here. Open the gates!

Whether it was the soldiers guarding the wall or the farmers helping with barricades, they all showed puzzled expressions.

Changing orders so suddenly—it was clearly suspicious.

But orders were still orders.

The soldiers and farmers started clearing the sandbags and debris blocking the gate, getting ready to make way for the

Holy Carriage.

Inside the carriage, Luo Li’s heart was pounding like crazy.

Other than Martha, there was another knight who was a traitor. But when she had played this part in the game,

her attention had been entirely on the Saintess.

The reason she remembered Martha as the traitor was because she came up with so many twisted ways to torture the

Saintess.

The naive Saintess couldn’t handle it at all.

The very first scene already broke her.

Every detail was burned into memory.

But if Adam Dresus turned out to be the traitor now—she was totally screwed.

Up ahead, the obstacles blocking the gate were slowly being removed.

Suddenly, from outside the carriage, she heard Adam’s voice, extremely low, like a whisper from a mosquito. If she

hadn’t been hyper-focused, she wouldn’t have heard it at all.

“Your Holiness, I will open the gate soon and escort the Holy Carriage. When we pass by Sister Martha—I will

act.

If you don’t have enough means to help, then leave at once.

But if you can—please, strike together with me.”

Hearing those words, Luo Li finally relaxed, her heart falling back into her chest, and she let out a long, quiet breath.

Her scalp tingled—a natural reaction after being so tense.

“…Alright.”

She sneakily glanced over.

Right now, Martha was still in her human form, not her demonic one, so her senses were no different from a normal

person’s.

Demons, when infiltrating human society, usually took on human form, though that restricted their powers

somewhat.

This was the best opportunity to strike!

She had to stay calm and patient!

To be a successful hunter, the first rule is: learn to hide.

Stay still as a mountain.

She stabilized her breath and gently lifted the carriage curtain, creating a small slit.

Target locked!

Through the narrow gap, her eyes locked onto Martha’s back, staring intensely.

Ready to attack!

The Sword of Chastity was gripped tightly in her hand, her palm already sweating from nerves.

Move swift as the wind!

Just as the carriage passed Martha, she flung open the curtain—

Martha!!

Startled by the voice, Martha instinctively turned her head.

Skill—activate!

Although her skills were a bit rusty, to make sure the attack worked perfectly, Luo Li had no choice but to shout out the

super-cringe magic line!

Under my eyes, no evil shall escape judgment! Martha, receive God’s judgment!!

The moment she finished speaking, Martha’s expression changed drastically.

She clearly realized something was wrong.

The aura of a demon burst from under her nun’s robe, exploding like a shockwave and sweeping outward!

But even though Martha was a Level 30 demon, this skill—“Eye of Judgment”—was a special Saintess ability.

Even high-level demons, under its power, would freeze for a moment in inner guilt and contradiction.

And Martha was only a recently converted low-level demon!

Before anyone around could react, a bright silver figure shot forward faster than the eye could follow—like a streak of

silver light slicing the air.

In that moment, even the sunlight seemed to dim.

A heavy sound echoed as a cross-shaped greatsword plunged into Martha’s frozen chest at lightning speed.

Black blood sprayed from her back, splashing to the ground.

The sunlight hitting it caused it to sizzle

Martha let out a strange, inhuman cry

Her body suddenly swelled like a balloon, rapidly growing to over two meters tall.

A single horn sprouted from her head.

Even her face became bizarrely youthful, with features bigger than Luo Li’s whole head.

(“No wonder this is an 18+ game world. Even old women can become this freaky!”)

Luo Li’s mind raced, but her body didn’t hesitate—she reached into the air and pulled out the Moon Banner from the

void.

She raised her head and looked at the angelic flag fluttering in the wind, then held it high and drove the sharp

end of the flagpole into the ground.

With my banner of the moon, I protect the Glorious Night—

O Saint, please protect me and my people
