Chapter 38: The Yandere Sister is a Big Problem

There were three children in the Faxtius family.

The eldest sister, Margaret, was the oldest and had the best reputation among the children, being twenty-three this year.

She had long reached the age for marriage, but three years ago, at the age of twenty, Margaret graduated from Holy Light University with exceptionally outstanding grades and was quickly selected by the College of Cardinals to participate in a secret project.

To this day, among the students who graduated in her year, legends of her excellence and all-around abilities still circulate.

The second child, Hall, had a similar reputation to Margaret in his childhood. However, compared to his dazzling older sister, Hall’s excellence seemed more reserved to others, and he wasn’t as comprehensively outstanding as Margaret, only excelling in swordsmanship and physical constitution.

But three years ago, his reputation collapsed, and many considered his true colors to be revealed. When compared to his older sister, who was personally chosen by the College of Cardinals during the same period, the colored glasses through which people viewed Hall became even more pronounced.

The young miss was naturally Lorraine. Although Lorraine’s other grades were average, and she had never passed the physical fitness assessments, she had shown astonishing theological talent during Mass at the age of seven.

At nine, she became an apprentice nun at the large cathedral near the Faxtius estate.

Two years later, she officially became a nun, and not long after, Lorraine was specially invited to study at the Theology Faculty of Holy Light University.

This timing was also around the same time Hall’s reputation collapsed.

And then…

In short, a saying circulated during that time: ‘Don’t be a Faxtius boy; they’re disappointing.’

And now, hearing the news of Lorraine’s return had nothing to do with reputation.

The key was that this sister of his was, judging from the game’s text, a confirmed yandere.

To be honest, Lorraine was indeed very cute, with blonde twin tails, always tied with white ribbons and adorned with daisy hair clips. She wore a pink and white princess dress, and liked to wear white pantyhose and cute round-toed princess shoes.

In the game, Lorraine’s room was also very girly, filled with cute dolls like bears, kittens, and puppies. She was also very clingy to him, and even if he made a mistake, Lorraine would defend him.

Having such a sister, as a brother, one would definitely want to love and protect her doubly.

Unfortunately, she was a yandere.

A yandere who could turn dark and stab him at any moment.

What was even more fatal was that Hall recalled the text from when he died in Lorraine’s route.

It usually mentioned Lorraine making tea for him or something similar.

This meant that when he was stabbed, he had likely been drugged.

He had to be careful, because some of the girls from the Theology Faculty who had approached him before and in the past few days might have a very good relationship with Lorraine.

Some of them had probably already told Lorraine about him and Leticia, and Christine.

“What’s wrong, Young Master? Aren’t you going to see the Young Miss?”

Seeing Hall hesitate, Lov asked again.

Her feelings for Lorraine were also quite complicated. She felt that the Young Miss didn’t like her very much, but Lorraine was Hall’s sister, and she was a servant of the Faxtius family.

It was unlikely she could bring herself to dislike Lorraine in return.

“Ah, wait a—”

Before the black-haired young man could finish his sentence, he heard a cute, shy, and slightly weak voice beside him.

“Brother… you’re back~”

Looking up, the girl leaning on the railing seemed to be teetering, about to fall at any moment.

Lorraine Faxtius was indeed very delicate.

Just like Hall’s first impression when he chose Lorraine as the heroine to play the game, she was extremely delicate.

Fragile and endearing.

She spoke softly, like an exquisite porcelain doll, as if speaking to her loudly would cause her to shatter on the spot.

And now, seeing Lorraine in person, this feeling only deepened.

If he didn’t know she was the heroine most prone to turning dark, he would definitely have gone forward to hug her and, out of brotherly concern, told her to go back and rest well.

But now, he could only maintain his distance and say in a tone devoid of much emotion.

“Yes, I’m back.”

That’s right, he had to be cold to Lorraine.

Why did Lorraine turn dark in the mid-to-late game?

Wasn’t it because Lorraine liked him?

If Lorraine didn’t like him, then the condition for her turning dark wouldn’t be met.

However, pushing Lorraine away too aggressively might backfire, causing her to turn dark ahead of schedule.

Instead, he needed to make Lorraine gradually feel that he, her brother, was uninteresting, and have her slowly shift her gaze and attention away from him.

“I heard that brother has been very popular at school recently?”

The girl in the pink one-piece nightgown spoke.

Hall’s heart immediately went on alert. Although he knew this would happen, he didn’t expect it to come so quickly.

He hadn’t even prepared his words.

“What are you saying, Young Miss? The Second Young Master has always been very popular with girls.”

Lov suddenly interjected with such a sentence.

Sweat was about to drip from Hall’s forehead.

“Is that so, brother?”

Lorraine seemed to be answering Lov.

But in reality, her gaze never left Hall. Seeing that Hall didn’t answer, the girl dragged her little bear slippers and slowly approached him.

Then, like a little puppy, she sniffed around the young man, revealing a rather meaningful expression.

Hall certainly understood what she meant by this action.

He knew she was probably sniffing for the scent of other women on him.

This sister of his, she really had a big problem…

Faced with such an action, Hall’s brain was also spinning rapidly.

But he didn’t say it out loud, only asking.

“By the way, Lorraine, let’s not talk about this for now. How many days off do you have this time?”

“Hmm, I don’t know. I don’t have too many theological tasks to do for now, so I plan to come back and spend time with brother.”

She shook her head.

Lorraine was almost finished with all the required courses at the Theology Faculty. Her mentor had told her to go to the Fayo River Cathedral to serve as the master of ceremonies for the daily Mass.

This position was not low.

Because although there were many churches in Saint Louis, there were only five official cathedrals.

Three of them, like Rohn Cathedral where Christine was, each belonged to one of the three Cardinals.

Lorraine was not a candidate for sainthood, so she couldn’t serve as a master of ceremonies in these three places.

And for the remaining two cathedrals, there were only two positions.

For any woman who wanted to achieve a high position in the church in the future, these two positions were their necessary promotion channels.

After hearing Lorraine’s words, Hall felt a little apprehensive; it seemed she was on a long break.

However, his mentality soon calmed down.

He would slip out of Saint Louis after Lorraine went back to school. That way, they would be temporarily out of each other’s hair.

According to the game’s plot, Lorraine wouldn’t leave Saint Louis unless she was taken along on a runaway trip.

Anyway, he couldn’t get far out of Saint Louis right now. From a timeline perspective, Lorraine shouldn’t be turning dark this early.

“Then you should rest well at home these days.”

Hall patted Lorraine’s small shoulder.

If this girl wasn’t a yandere, he would definitely have patted her head.

“Okay, brother~”

Lorraine’s clear, azure eyes blinked like shimmering waves.

She suddenly said.

“By the way, brother, I brought back a painting about theological mysteries. There are some parts of the painting I don’t understand. Can brother come to my room tonight and teach me?”

She first lowered her head, then raised her eyes slightly again, her ten fingers intertwined, her pupils and words filled with nothing but anticipation.
