X
After settling her affairs, Violet was completely at ease.
With Old Qien and Tia around, Salna Village should soon develop into her main base.
This way, even if she was hunted by the Empire in the future, she would have a place to hide for the time being.
With this matter settled, the next thing to do was to gain Icarus’s trust and follow the chamber of commerce to Fortuna City.
Violet already had a rough idea, provided that those players from her past life hadn’t been lying.
Icarus looked at the girl who had returned to him, a hint of vigilance in his eyes.
He had traded in Salna Village many times, but this was the first time he had seen the person before him.
Unfamiliarity meant variables, and what’s more, he had a mission on this trip.
“Miss, is there anything that has caught your eye?”
Saying this, Icarus stepped aside, leading Violet to another carriage.
He lifted the waterproof tarp covering the carriage, revealing the goods underneath.
“As a friend of Miss Tia and as a new customer, miss, you can take anything you like.”
Violet gave a cursory glance and found that most of the items were weapons and potions, which further confirmed her thoughts.
So she ignored Icarus’s introduction and walked straight up to him, looking up to meet his gaze.
“Compared to these goods, I’m more interested in you.”
“Oh? That is truly my honor…”
Icarus feigned surprise, but the girl’s next words made his face darken.
“President of the Albatross Chamber of Commerce, you are a member of the revolutionary army, aren’t you?”
Violet could feel a sudden chill erupt from Icarus.
Locked on by his killing intent, she remained expressionless, merely taking a step back.
“I’m sorry, if the young lady is not here to do business, then please leave.”
“President Icarus, do you know? You’re going to die, die in this operation.”
The moment the words fell, a greatsword the size of a door panel appeared in Icarus’s hand.
A strong wind blew in her face, but the violent airflow only moved Violet’s hair.
The greatsword stopped less than three inches from her face, its wielder’s face contorted, unable to make the blade fall despite using all his strength.
A slender tentacle was wrapped around his wrist.
It was this finger-width little thing that erupted with a force that even Icarus, a fifth-tier powerhouse, couldn’t move against.
“Please don’t be so agitated.”
Violet gently sidestepped, moving around the greatsword and returning to Icarus’s front.
She looked into his eyes.
The tentacle on Nastasia’s head squeezed, and with a “clang,” the greatsword fell to the ground.
Disarmed, Icarus panted like an ox.
His face flushed, he held his breath and threw another punch at Violet.
The result was naturally in vain.
The soft tentacle, like a skipped frame in an animation, instantly bound him tightly.
Even if he was unwilling to admit it, Icarus could see the strength gap between them.
He lowered his head with a gloomy expression, facing the girl in front of him.
Looking at Icarus’s eyes, which were almost popping out of their sockets, Violet smiled faintly, gently patting Nastasia’s body to signal Her to let go.
“I think we are not enemies. At least, my goal is also to overthrow the Empire.
I know your plan, and I can lend you a hand.”
Freed, Icarus took a few steps back, his face full of suspicion.
“How can I trust you?”
“Very simple, because I am a follower of an evil god.”
With that, Nastasia’s aura was no longer concealed and burst forth.
In an instant, Icarus felt the space around him begin to distort.
Chaotic elements struck his body, suppressing him with a grunt and forcing him to his knees.
The commotion here naturally attracted the attention of the villagers and the caravan members.
Many caravan members picked up their weapons and surrounded them.
Many of the villagers hesitated, but still stood up and blocked their way.
The previously harmonious atmosphere suddenly became tense.
In this tense atmosphere, Violet was whispering to Nastasia.
“Little Na, you’re about to crush him.”
Hearing this, Nastasia retracted half of her aura.
Icarus was immediately much more relaxed, at least able to stand up on trembling legs.
He looked at Violet with apprehension, as if he had made some kind of decision.
That evil aura was no fake.
The seemingly harmless girl in front of him might really be a follower of an evil god.
In that case, she couldn’t be on the Empire’s side.
After all, the Eternal Sect was a very exclusive church, with many restrictions even on some neutral sects, let alone an evil god sect.
However, Icarus did not let his guard down completely.
You see, followers of evil gods were all lunatics.
Who knew what conditions this “follower of an evil god” would propose.
He couldn’t win a fight, and he couldn’t run away.
The only thing he could do now was to beg for mercy.
His life was not worth mentioning, but his master was still sitting in that carriage over there.
“Miss, I wonder if there is anything the Albatross Chamber of Commerce can do to help you.”
Icarus said, giving a look to the caravan members over there.
The person understood and ran towards the exquisitely patterned carriage.
Violet ignored his small movements and continued to tease Nastasia.
“Very simple, I want to go to Fortuna City with you.”
The Lord Evil God turned over in enjoyment, separating her tentacles to expose her soft main body to Violet’s fingers.
While Icarus was still considering, she continued:
“I swear by Nastasia, the Lord of Chaos and Disorder, that I will not harm you, and if we encounter any insurmountable difficulties on the road, I will help.”
Icarus’s expression moved.
For a believer, swearing by the god they believe in was the most solemn oath.
Since the other party had made such a heavy oath, she could basically be trusted.
“I want to go to Fortuna City, and you will gain a powerful companion. This is a very good deal.”
Violet said, continuing to knead Nastasia’s body.
She didn’t look at Icarus; she believed he would agree.
After all, besides being a butler, Icarus was also a merchant.
After a few minutes of silence, Icarus slowly nodded.
“I agree, but you have to add a condition.
You cannot interfere with us in any way, including exposing our identities, deliberately framing us, etc.”
After saying this, Icarus’s expression was tense, and his muscles were tight, ready to turn hostile with Violet.
“Yes, I agree.”
Unexpectedly, the girl agreed to his request without any hesitation and repeated the oath in front of him.
Seeing this, Icarus let out a long sigh of relief.
Just this brief confrontation had made his mood rise and fall, almost walking back and forth in front of the gates of hell several times.
He extended his hand to Violet, even using a respectful tone.
“Welcome. May I ask how I should address you?”
“My name is Elynne, a follower of the Evil God—Nastasia.”
Their hands touched and separated.
Nastasia was also brought back to Violet’s head.
Seeing the conflict resolved, the two sides, who had been eyeing each other warily, dispersed.
However, anyone with discerning eyes could see that a pitifully thick barrier had already appeared between them.
Icarus deliberately paid attention to the goods the villagers were looking at, intending to do them a favor.
But when he saw the goods the villagers were buying, his expression froze.
“The people of Salna Village seem to be in urgent need of daily necessities?”
“Because they just suffered a monster attack not long ago.”
Violet replied concisely.
The two of them talked like this all the way to the carriage.
Icarus specially arranged a single carriage for her.
Violet didn’t mind, but Nastasia had a big opinion.
“My kin! My kin! Our diary!”
The Lord Evil God lay on the ground, twisted into a messy ball.
Violet sighed helplessly.
She didn’t know why Nastasia was so obsessed with Her “landscape painting.”
Just as she was about to get up and leave the carriage, a faint sound suddenly came from outside.
“Miss, come over here, this is a spare empty carriage!”
