Chapter 21: The Princess’s New Disguise

In a clean and tidy carriage, Icarus was pinching the “Miss'” philtrum, trying to wake her up.

But as soon as she woke up, she glanced at Violet calmly drinking tea on the side and fainted in fear again.

Icarus looked at the “Miss,” then at Violet, his expression strange.

She didn’t look scary, so why did his young lady react as if she’d seen a ghost?

“Miss Elynne, perhaps you could step aside for a moment?”

Violet nodded silently and turned to leave the carriage.

The reason she followed Icarus was because she was worried that the young lady would take advantage of her absence to reveal her identity to him.

If she missed the first opportunity to explain, the difficulty of explaining clearly would increase exponentially.

Who would have thought that the “Miss” was so timid that she would faint at the sight of her?

“My kin, our diary…”

Nastasia, who had been neglected for ten minutes, weakly tugged at Violet’s hair, her tentacles pointing in the direction of home.

Only then did she remember her promise to Her and turned to walk towards their small house.

Violet didn’t have anything that needed special packing, but Nastasia had quite a few things.

So she watched as the Lord Evil God crawled around on the floor, her tentacles rummaging through the room, stuffing one item after another into her body.

“Pen, ink, and diary… My kin, should we take the bed with us too?”

As she said this, Nastasia was coiling a tentacle around the entire bed, as if she was about to stuff it into her body.

Seeing this, Violet hurriedly stopped Her.

“When we get to Fortuna City, we can stay in an inn.”

“An inn?”

Nastasia scratched her head and asked in confusion:

“Will that be our new home?”

“It will be a temporary place for us to stay. When things are settled there, we will come back.”

Violet answered truthfully.

Although she knew that Nastasia had a four-dimensional pocket comparable to Doraemon’s, the thought of carrying the Lord Evil God, who had packed so many things, on her head felt strange.

“Alright then…”

Nastasia’s voice sounded a little reluctant.

She reluctantly put down the bed and turned to swallow the desk into her body.

To this, Her answer was serious and righteous:

“I’m used to this desk. I’m not used to writing my diary on other desks!”

Violet sighed but had to nod in agreement.

Looking at the nearly half-empty small house, Nastasia waved her tentacles in satisfaction, clearly in a good mood.

In Her eyes, this had already become a sweet trip for her and her kin.

“My kin, let’s go!”

Nastasia said, leaping high into the air, the entire tentacle monster landing steadily on Violet’s head.

Feeling the Evil God on her head, who hadn’t become heavier or larger at all, she let out a soft “huh” and took Her off her head to knead.

Nastasia, who had packed half a house, didn’t even feel different.

She was still as smooth as the finest silk.

Just as Violet was about to return the way she came, Nastasia struggled and jumped out of her palm.

“My kin, I’m still not at ease!”

Her voice was grave, but her words confused her.

“What if our home is occupied by someone else while we’re away?”

Violet was silent for a moment, then walked to the ancient tree not far away and peeled off a piece of bark the size of her palm.

She handed the bark to Nastasia and said:

“Here, make a mark.”

The Lord Evil God’s eyes lit up.

She spat out a quill pen, dipped it in ink, and began to write stroke by stroke.

She wrote very slowly, but very seriously.

Violet felt an unprecedented caution from Her.

A few minutes later, Nastasia finished writing.

Before them, a piece of bark with Chinese characters written on it lay quietly on the ground.

From the crooked handwriting, Violet could read these few words:

“Nastasia and Violet’s Little House!”

There seemed to be a few smaller characters below, probably some kind of threat.

At the end, Nastasia even drew a knife, as if to show the consequences of trespassing.

“All done!”

Nastasia wriggled her body excitedly, squealing as she carried the piece of bark and nailed it to the door frame.

Thanks to the morning sun, the ink didn’t smudge this time.

“Are you satisfied?”

Violet looked at the piece of bark, which looked like a house number, and suppressed a laugh as she scooped Her up from the ground.

Nastasia climbed up her arm and back to her head, collapsing into a comfortable pile, her single eye narrowed to a thin line.

“Satisfied. My kin, let’s go.”

Saying this, She pointed to the members of the chamber of commerce who had already started packing, clearly more eager than her.

The Albatross Chamber of Commerce would stay in Salna Village for about two hours.

Clearly, it was time to leave.

Since her carriage was destroyed, Violet had to go to the place where she had parted with Icarus earlier.

Before she could get close to the exquisitely patterned carriage, the “Miss'” urgent voice came from inside.

“Uncle Icarus, that person is really that tyrant! I couldn’t have mistaken her!”

“I understand, but we don’t have any other choice right now.”

The two were in a heated discussion.

Violet simply pushed open the door and entered.

“It seems someone is speaking ill of me?”

Seeing that it was her, the “Miss” was startled and reflexively shrank behind Icarus, curling up like an ostrich.

Violet ignored her appearance, sat down at the table, and took a sip of the already cold tea.

“I heard someone talking about a tyrant. Were you talking about me?”

An invisible aura spread out, pressing down on Icarus and causing cold sweat to form on his forehead.

“I’m sorry, Miss Elynne. My young lady is just ignorant and was just talking nonsense.”

Violet didn’t look at him.

Her gaze was fixed on the teacup, her face expressionless, but her pupils were staring at them blankly, as if seeing that tyrant through the “Miss'” eyes.

Her demeanor was cold, but for some reason, the two of them could feel a faint sadness from her.

“If you think I’m Violet, you can go to the Imperial Capital and take a look.

If I remember correctly, there will be a speech by the Imperial Princess in three days.

At that time, you will know whether I am that tyrant or not.”

Icarus and the “Miss” were stunned, not expecting such an answer.

They had thought Violet would be angry and embarrassed, and they had also thought she would refuse to talk about it.

Icarus was even prepared to trade his life for hers.

But her words now were really beyond their expectations.

Looking at Violet staring blankly at the teacup, Icarus suddenly had a bold guess.

“Miss Elynne, I have something to say, but I don’t know if I should.”

Violet cast her gaze towards him, signaling him to continue.

Seeing this, Icarus braced himself and said:

“Are you… related to that Imperial Princess by blood?”

He believed his young lady.

She couldn’t be lying about something like this.

And as the one who killed her father, she would definitely not mistake Violet’s face.

To look so similar and not be the same person, it could only be explained by them being twin sisters.

Only then could it explain why she would appear here, with the face of the Imperial Princess.

As for why she hated the Empire so much, even to the point of helping the revolutionary army and trying to overthrow the Empire’s rule…

In that instant, a melodramatic plot unfolded in the minds of Icarus and the “Miss,” so much so that when Violet came back to her senses, she found them looking at her with pitying eyes.
