Chapter 12: The Princess’s Fury and a Knight’s Dilemma

Princess Daelothys’s face flushed crimson with fury. She had never imagined Tong Ya would falter at such a crucial moment.

‘Why isn’t she just coming in?!’

‘Aren’t you usually so proactive? Why have you suddenly withered at the critical juncture? Can you even do this?!’

Daelothys was utterly exasperated. ‘Why do I have such an unreliable knight?’

Her anger soon gave way to tears once more.

Even Lu Yuan felt a flicker of surprise. Of course, he couldn’t comprehend the female knight’s inner turmoil outside; he had too many other concerns, and even if he knew, he wouldn’t understand.

As long as no one burst in, it was a good outcome for him.

Then, Lu Yuan realized the little princess in his arms had started crying again.

“Stop crying!” Lu Yuan leaned in close to the princess’s ear once more, threatening her fiercely.

“Wuwu… Wuwu…” The little princess whimpered incoherently, her murmurs indistinguishable.

Lu Yuan paid no mind, simply continuing, “Just be obedient. If you cooperate, I’ll let you go. It’s better for everyone this way. I imagine you wouldn’t want to appear outside completely naked, would you?”

‘This man is a demon!’ The little princess seethed with sorrow and indignation. In her mind, she silently cursed Lu Yuan’s female relatives with the most venomous language. Yet, she had no choice but to comply, so she nodded indignantly.

“Now, whatever I say, you repeat?”

“Wuwu.”

Lu Yuan’s arm, which had been cinched around the little princess, slowly loosened. Her legs went weak, and she nearly slipped into the water, but Lu Yuan steadied her. She gasped, gulping in air.

She shot Lu Yuan a hateful glare, wishing she could tear the demon apart with her bare hands.

Lu Yuan’s face, however, remained utterly calm, entirely unfazed.

Outside the door, the female knight Tong Ya grew puzzled when no one responded for a long time. ‘Could Her Royal Highness have fainted in the bath?’

This wasn’t an unprecedented occurrence.

She raised her hand, preparing to push the door open.

“Tong Ya!” The little princess’s voice suddenly drifted out.

“Your Royal Highness!”

“Do! Not! Come! In!” The princess’s tone sounded utterly displeased.

“Ugh… Understood, Your Highness.” Tong Ya’s face was a picture of distress; she had no idea how she had managed to offend the little princess this time.

“Go and see what’s happening outside! Report back to me shortly!”

“As you command, Your Royal Highness.”

And so, the beleaguered female knight could only scurry away pitifully once more.

Lu Yuan kept his spiritual sense spread out, only sighing in relief once the female knight had exited the courtyard. At this moment, no one else remained within the courtyard.

“Can you let me go now?” the little princess asked weakly.

Though she had been forced to compromise, she knew this was the most perilous moment. If this man truly went back on his word, then only a deity could save her.

Fortunately, the little princess didn’t notice any signs of Lu Yuan intending to vent his desires.

The man with the disheveled stubble merely gave a faint “Mm,” then his large, fan-like palm pushed directly against her chest.

The little princess was startled. ‘Was this scoundrel truly deceiving her?!’ She instinctively tried to retreat, but being in the water, her movements were hampered. Though her body pulled back, her feet failed to follow.

Then, Her Royal Highness Princess Daelothys simply tumbled backward into the water with a splash, immediately choking on a mouthful of bathwater.

She thrashed about in the water several times before finally struggling back to her feet.

By the time she stood upright, there was no one else left in the room.

“Where is he?”

Daelothys blinked blankly. The bathroom was indeed empty; the man had simply vanished into thin air.
