Chapter 1: The False Saintess’s Awakening and a Traitorous System

Chilling moonlight pierced through the gaps of the barred window, casting a faint glow upon the gloomy prison cell.

Within the cage, cold iron chains held a fragile girl tightly bound.

Allyrose hung her head, her body trembling uncontrollably in the frigid wind.

Suddenly, a piercing shriek cut through the air.

Then, with a resounding *CRACK!*, a brutal whip lashed out, striking Allyrose and sending her to her knees, eliciting a cry of agony.

“Cough… Aaaargh!”

“Hehehe~ Sister Allyrose, you’re quite resilient, aren’t you? It’s been three days, and you still haven’t kicked the bucket?”

“Ugh… Vi… Vivian, wh… why? Aren’t we… friends?”

Allyrose desperately lifted her head, her eyes brimming with tears and terror.

Across from her, the blonde loli merely sneered, then drew a dagger and slowly approached Allyrose.

“Why? If you don’t die, how can Brother Jason and I be together~? Heh, don’t blame me, False Saintess. This is simply… the debt you owe!”

The dagger plunged down, and blood gushed from Allyrose’s throat.

Her eyes wide in death, Allyrose stared fixedly at Vivian’s cold face.

The former Saintess of the Church, the fiancée of the Hero, Sir Jason, had never imagined she would meet such a fate.

‘However, this was what that wicked woman deserved…’

‘Like hell it was!’

****

Allyrose’s eyes snapped open.

She gritted her teeth in frustration, glaring into the darkness of the dungeon.

‘Hoo… hoo—’

‘This… this is truly infuriating. Just a fleeting thought of the original novel’s text almost sends me into a berserk rage.’

The girl collected herself, glancing around at her surroundings, her memories still a bit fragmented.

The gloomy stone bricks, the hanging decorations of monster skulls, the magical candle lamps flickering with an ethereal blue flame—everything reminded Allyrose that this place was vastly different from her modern world in her previous life.

Yes, the modern world!

Indeed, Allyrose was a transmigrator.

In fact, before she transmigrated, she had been a boy.

More precisely, Allyrose had transmigrated into a book.

The world she now inhabited was the very plot world of the female-oriented novel she had just recalled: *Western Fantasy: The True Saintess’s Counterattack*.

The character she had transmigrated into was Allyrose herself, the kind and lovely Saintess of the Church, chosen by the Holy See from birth to become the embodiment of the people’s faith.

Originally, Allyrose was destined for a perfect life: revered by nobles, worshipped by the populace, spending her days in prayer and charity, carefree, and ultimately, fulfilling a prophecy by marrying her beloved Hero, Sir Jason.

Alas, in the year she turned eighteen, orchestrated by the Church, the novel’s protagonist, the True Saintess—Vivian—appeared.

Allyrose was abruptly informed that her identity as the Saintess for over a decade was, in fact, due to a prophetic error years ago.

Vivian, born at the same time as her, was revealed to be the true reincarnation of the Saintess.

In essence, their lives had been swapped from birth.

Allyrose was taken to the Church, raised to become the Saintess, while the True Saintess, Vivian, endured over a decade of hardship as a village girl in the countryside.

Had it not been for the Archbishop of the Church accidentally discovering Vivian, this colossal error would have continued indefinitely, and Vivian would have remained obscure for her entire life.

Therefore, with the truth revealed, Allyrose naturally had no right to continue as the Saintess.

The Church announced this news to the entire kingdom, and Vivian was officially instated as the True Saintess.

Originally, this might have simply been a story of things returning to their rightful place.

For Allyrose, though somewhat cruel, perhaps the position of Saintess was never truly hers to begin with.

In the novel, Allyrose behaved similarly.

Despite her reluctance, she eventually let go, even proactively attempting to befriend Vivian and share her experiences from her years as Saintess.

Alas…

Allyrose had let go, but the True Saintess, Vivian, had not!

Indeed, in the novel, becoming the True Saintess did not satisfy Vivian.

Instead, she harbored a persistent grudge against Allyrose for ‘stealing’ her life as the Saintess for over a decade and forcing her to endure such hardship.

Even though becoming the Saintess was never Allyrose’s own desire.

Thus, in the novel’s plot, Vivian, consumed by a desire for revenge, only pretended to befriend the protagonist.

In reality, she constantly set traps, backstabbed the protagonist, played the innocent victim, and even seduced the protagonist’s fiancé, Jason, causing the Hero to cheat and betray her.

The Allyrose in the novel, due to her gentle and overly naive nature, tolerated all of this.

In the end, she even willingly made concessions to preserve their relationship, hoping only that Jason would spare her a little affection.

Sadly, despite such profound humility, Vivian never forgave her.

Ultimately, halfway through the novel’s plot, a satisfied Vivian conspired with Jason to murder Allyrose.

The poor Allyrose only discovered the true nature of this despicable duo at her very end.

‘Damn it!’

Indeed, in her previous life, it was precisely at this point in the novel, around three in the morning, that she completely lost her composure.

She watched as the comment section erupted in cheers for Vivian.

Comments like, “Big heroine Vivian is so cool!”, “The fake Saintess deserves to be tormented!”, and “That b*tch finally died, so satisfying!” filled the screen.

Infuriated, she furiously argued with other readers in the comment section for hundreds of posts, until she saw black and died suddenly on the spot.

Then she woke up to find… she had become Allyrose.

‘This is meant for me to save this foolish False Saintess from her tragic fate, damn it!’

‘However, perhaps this is… exactly what I wanted to do?’

Reborn into this life, Allyrose was no longer her former self.

Though she had assimilated the original Allyrose’s memories, the current Allyrose possessed the knowledge and experience of having read half of the novel.

Her luck, however, was not great.

She had transmigrated precisely to the moment Vivian had just arrived at the Church and become the True Saintess.

After all, Vivian was the novel’s protagonist, blessed with a protagonist’s halo.

Her fiancé, Jason, was the strongest Hero in the entire kingdom.

Moreover, this despicable duo was backed by the immensely powerful Church.

How, then, was she to deal with this abominable pair?

Just as Allyrose was agonizing over this dilemma, a ‘ding’ suddenly sounded in her mind.

Indeed, the standard system for transmigrators had, as expected, come online.

[Ding-dong~ Congratulations, Host, on successfully binding the Ultimate Enemy-Sponsoring Traitor System. This system is dedicated to helping you avenge yourself against that despicable duo and change the tragic fate of the False Saintess, Allyrose!]

[The Host can provide various forms of assistance to the Demon Lord’s army to earn sponsorship points, which can then be exchanged for powerful items in the System Shop. Additionally, completing the system’s periodically issued enemy-aiding missions will unlock more mysterious rewards.]

[Successfully altering the ending will allow the Host to return to the real world and receive a one hundred million cash reward. Failure will result in facing the same tragic end as Allyrose in the novel!]

[Ding-dong, now issuing a novice mission: Please complete one act of sponsorship for the Demon Lord’s army within one day. Successfully completing this mission will grant you one hundred thousand sponsorship points and the golden item, ‘Holy Light Absorption Bracelet.’ Failure will result in the loss of all novel plot memories!]

‘Hiss—’

‘Oh, this?’

Allyrose genuinely hadn’t expected to awaken an enemy-sponsoring system, let alone be told to aid the Demon Lord’s army.

‘Hmm… but, thinking about it, it does make sense. After all… the enemy of my enemy is my friend.’

Although Allyrose hadn’t read the latter half of the novel, she knew from the comment section that Vivian’s opponent later became the Demon Lord.

Given this, wouldn’t it be perfectly acceptable for her, a False Saintess, to side with a Demon Lord?

‘Anyway… my only goal now is revenge. If aiding the Demon Lord’s army makes me stronger, then of course I’ll lend a hand!’

Even if she were to take a thousand steps back, a world dominated by someone like Vivian wouldn’t necessarily be much better than one ruled by a Demon Lord.

Thus, Allyrose hardened her resolve.

She would make good use of this enemy-sponsoring system, complete all tasks, exact her brutal revenge on that despicable duo, and then… return to modern society with her goal of one hundred million, to live a life of ultimate luxury!

However, the system’s very first mission filled Allyrose with a sense of dread.

While the reward for completing it seemed quite enticing, what if… she failed the mission?

‘If I lose all my memories of the novel’s plot, I’m absolutely doomed!’

‘No, no!’

With this thought, Allyrose quickly began to ponder how she could manage to sponsor the Demon Lord’s army just once.

Though the girl had spoken so casually just moments ago, when it came to actually devising a plan, Allyrose found herself in a predicament.

The reason was simple: it was still early in the novel’s plot.

The Demon Lord’s army was still in slumber, with very little activity within the kingdom.

As for the Demon Lord themselves, who hadn’t even appeared yet, there wasn’t a single trace.

‘What to do, what to do? Where am I supposed to find a Demon Lord’s army?’

‘Wait…’

‘Hold on, just a moment!’

A flash of inspiration suddenly struck the girl’s mind.

‘That’s right… the dungeon!’
