Chapter 51: A Change of Tactics and an Uninvited Guest

The Demon Lord felt a flicker of tension, but he soon realized that his display of profound knowledge had only mildly surprised those before him, stirring no significant ripples.

This was primarily because the atmosphere was fraught with tension, leaving both Allyrose and Vivian with no attention to spare for Luo Jia.

Although the black-haired girl was touched by Luo Jia’s unexpected intervention, it only served to further incense Vivian.

A mere male servant under Allyrose dared to defy her?

Tsk…

Really… had these people become utterly lawless?

This thought only fueled Vivian’s anger, and she naturally dismissed Luo Jia from her mind.

However, what the little male servant said was… damn it! It had momentarily left Vivian with no immediate rebuttal. The golden-haired loli grew even more furious at this realization.

‘Hmph… it’s mainly the fault of those stubborn old men from the Church, with their meticulous doctrines that even need to be written down in black and white. And if you’re going to write them, at least write them completely!’

‘Incomplete written doctrines only give a cunning woman like Allyrose an opportunity to exploit loopholes. Ha… if Vivian herself were in charge of these matters, she certainly wouldn’t write down a single doctrine.’

‘In other words, she would speak with divine authority. As a Saintess, whatever she declared, *was*! Why write such things to restrict herself? Tsk—’

However, seeing as things had come to this, Vivian decided to change tactics a moment later. The girl, who had just been fuming over the matter, suddenly put on a different face, forcing a relaxed smile as she began to act cute.

“Hahaha~ You’re so serious, Little Brother Luo Jia~! Oh, Sister Allyrose, I was just joking~”

“Hmm… that wasn’t a very funny joke. Don’t make it again.”

“Uh…”

Vivian, who had momentarily chosen to show weakness, was met with such a cold retort from Allyrose. She felt as though her warm overture had been met with a cold shoulder, and the corner of her mouth twitched involuntarily.

In her heart, she had already cursed Allyrose’s entire family seven or eight times over.

Nevertheless, after a long moment, Vivian managed to suppress her anger, forcing another smile. She then blinked her eyes and spoke.

“Well… Sister Allyrose, don’t be so sharp-tongued. We both know exactly what you’re doing, don’t we? But… I don’t intend to make a big deal out of this.”

As she spoke, Vivian clasped her hands behind her back and slowly walked towards the main steps, positioning herself behind Allyrose. Her voice gradually grew colder.

“What I truly care about is you, Sister Allyrose… Hmph, I know… Sister Allyrose, accepting the prayers of others has been your work for nearly ten years. From a child until now… suddenly stopping must be a bit disorienting.”

Allyrose tilted her head, then turned around to look at Vivian’s back. Indeed… the girl wasn’t wrong; she truly did feel a little unaccustomed to the change.

However, Vivian was thinking too simply of her. The establishment of this monastery was not to fulfill some desire to revisit the past, but rather… the beginning of a new denomination!

Cough, cough… but Allyrose certainly wouldn’t tell Vivian this directly. After all, these people probably hadn’t even realized that the royal family was behind the monastery.

The black-haired girl silently watched Vivian perform.

So, after all this talk, what exactly was this person trying to convey?

“All those things, I can actually understand them~ You are indeed very experienced, and I hope to learn more from you~”

After a pause, Vivian touched the religious symbol placed in the center of the monastery, then turned back to face Allyrose, revealing a disdainful smile as she continued.

“But, all these things have… completely lost their meaning now! Sister Allyrose, there’s no need for you to continue working hard~ Because… now there’s me! As the Saintess, I will guide all lost souls, accept their prayers, and spread the gospel of the Divine Lord!”

A look of ecstasy quickly bloomed on Vivian’s face. After a moment, she opened her eyes again, smiling triumphantly at Allyrose.

“And all the people will ultimately unite around me, offering their most devout everything to the Divine Lord~ So… Sister Allyrose, do you understand? This monastery actually has no reason to exist at all! That’s why I thought I’d kindly advise you. You spent so much money building such a monastery, but if no one is willing to come in the end… wouldn’t that be very awkward~ Sister Allyrose, you wouldn’t want to see that happen, would you?”

Vivian then tilted her head, let out a scoff, and then… suddenly, a voice of agreement echoed from the doorway.

“Miss Vivian is right.”

Hmm?!

Upon hearing this familiar male voice, Allyrose initially thought it was Tok, the green-haired sycophant who had been fawning over Vivian with adoring eyes.

But the girl quickly came to her senses, for the voice was far too familiar.

The black-haired girl immediately turned her head to the doorway, where the brown-haired hero hastily entered. This new, uninvited guest was none other than her fiancé… Jason.

Well, now…

Seeing a flash of surprise in Vivian’s eyes, Allyrose immediately understood. It seemed Vivian hadn’t even called him, yet this guy had heard the news from somewhere and eagerly rushed over?

And, right off the bat, he delivered an assist to Vivian.

Jason quickly strode to Allyrose’s side. Immediately, he intimately wrapped an arm around the girl’s waist, then chuckled.

“Wifey, did you miss me~ Haha, I heard your conversation just now. I can’t believe it… Wifey, you suddenly built such a large monastery and didn’t even tell me~ You were hiding a big surprise!”

The man first feigned cordiality, as if greeting Allyrose, but his gaze was entirely fixed on Vivian. The girl immediately frowned in disgust. It wasn’t until a moment later that Jason finally looked at Allyrose, and his opening words were significant.

“Hmm… but, Wifey, I think… Vivian also has a point. A monastery, or something like that, is too wasteful. But since so much money has already been spent, how about… we convert this place into a commercial venue? Like… a bar, or a hotel, perhaps. It would also give you something to do, Wifey. Do you think that’s suitable?”

“Not at all, suitable!”
