Chapter 14: The Heavenly Net Physique’s Secret

Though she had only conversed with Ye Cha for a short while, Lülüo’s entire perspective had undergone a monumental shift.

She began to reflect, questioning if her previous notions had been far too naive.

Having powerful cultivators as elders in her family, Lülüo had always lived a life of luxury and comfort. This continued until she grew weary of her mundane existence and resolved to enter the Lingtian Sect, seeking a new path.

With her dual spiritual roots, Lülüo smoothly gained entry into the Lingtian Sect, even without leveraging her family’s connections.

Within the Lingtian Sect, she found female cultivators to train alongside, and a considerable number of handsome male cultivators.

There was no need to worry about a lack of amusement, nor anyone to nag her incessantly.

For Lülüo, it was akin to a veritable paradise of wine and pleasure, where she indulged herself day after day.

However, her encounter with Ye Cha today had slapped her awake, so to speak.

She could not continue down this path.

Even if she wasn’t as powerful as the Sect Master, her dual spiritual roots were enough to surpass many others. In such circumstances, she possessed ample ability to pursue the Heavenly Dao, allowing herself to comprehend the Grand Dao through repeated insights!

If she had lacked a reason to strive before, Lülüo now felt she had found one.

She resolved to grow stronger. Beyond pursuing the Heavenly Dao, she would also protect Junior Brother Ye Cha!

No matter how formidable the Sect Master might be, Lülüo possessed her own unique strengths.

At the very least, a woman as aloof as the Sect Master couldn’t match her eloquence or her knack for charming men.

Once her strength ascended, she would hold even greater leverage.

“Junior Brother Ye Cha, it is truly my good fortune to have conversed with you today! From now on, no matter how arduous the path ahead, I will never speak of surrender. I hope you… Oh, look at me, saying such things. May we both achieve success in the Grand Dao and remain true to our original aspirations.”

Upon reaching Ye Cha’s dwelling, the two halted their steps. Lülüo couldn’t help but speak then.

Yet, as she spoke, gazing into Ye Cha’s sincere eyes, her words suddenly caught in her throat.

Alas!

One could always charm another with eloquent words, but true affection often led to stammering.

Ordinarily, she navigated interactions with other male cultivators with effortless grace. Now, however, she had utterly capsized in Ye Cha’s presence.

It was fate, and her destined trial.

“A formidable cultivator like Senior Sister Lülüo, I have no doubt you will succeed.”

As Ye Cha’s encouraging words reached her ears, Lülüo’s previously downcast spirits suddenly vanished like smoke.

She felt empowered once more.

Buoyed by Junior Brother Ye Cha’s encouragement, Lülüo resolved to cultivate diligently from this day forward, aiming to breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment stage as soon as possible!

****

Though Lülüo was reluctant to part ways with Ye Cha, he had now reached his destination. No matter how much she wished to linger, there was no valid reason for her to stay.

She would have to leave, sooner or later.

Ultimately, Lülüo departed, looking back three times with every step. Carrying the regret of not seeing Ye Cha again and a firm resolve to cultivate diligently, her future path, now illuminated by a clear goal, began to unfold distinctly before her.

As Lülüo’s retreating figure faded into the distance, Ye Cha’s upturned lips slowly settled. The genial smile he typically displayed to outsiders, one as warm as a spring breeze, vanished, replaced by an expression of cold indifference.

Finally, there was no need to maintain the facade any longer.

Ye Cha stepped into the room, then firmly shut the door. With the windows remaining closed, he silently walked to the wooden bed and sat down directly.

Within the quiet room, no sound could be heard save for Ye Cha’s breathing.

However, a keen ear might detect a faint, subtle sound emanating from Ye Cha’s left wrist.

“Damn this Heavenly Net Profound Poison.”

Hearing the sound, Ye Cha immediately raised his left hand, pulling back his sleeve to reveal a pale, unblemished wrist.

A striking red line could be seen, spreading upwards from his wrist, halting precisely at his elbow joint.

Upon closer inspection, the red line seemed almost alive, emitting a continuous hum that pulsed with Ye Cha’s every breath.

It even wiggled playfully a few times.

A clear testament to its extraordinary nature.

Yet, Ye Cha harbored a profound hatred for it. Recalling the recent bouts of agony, he often wished he could simply bash his head against a wall and faint whenever it flared up.

When he had first transmigrated to this cultivation world, Ye Cha hadn’t noticed anything amiss with his body.

However, less than three months after entering the Lingtian Sect, his body underwent an immediate transformation.

This red line had initially been nothing more than a tiny dot, easily mistaken for a small red mole if one didn’t look closely.

But as Ye Cha paid it little heed, the red line began to lengthen steadily.

As the red line extended, Ye Cha began to endure pain unbearable to ordinary people, each episode concluding with him gritting his teeth until blood flowed.

If it continued, Ye Cha felt even he would be unable to bear it.

In this predicament, Ye Cha recalled the pouch his nominal mother had mysteriously handed him when he left home, claiming that whenever he encountered an unsolvable problem, opening the pouch would reveal the answer.

At the time, Ye Cha had merely smiled, not taking her words seriously.

Moreover, as soon as he had stepped outside his home, he had immediately opened the pouch.

The result: nothing but a blank piece of paper. This caused Ye Cha to shake his head in resignation, though he hadn’t discarded the paper. Instead, he had tucked it back into the pouch, treating it as a keepsake.

Several years had passed since his transmigration, and as Ye Cha gradually familiarized himself with this world, he had inevitably forged various relationships.

Though his nominal mother was somewhat boisterous, one couldn’t deny her care and concern for him.

Ye Cha had slowly grown accustomed to it, no longer feeling the same resistance he had at first.

When the red line changed and the pain became unbearable, Ye Cha, treating a dead horse as if it were still alive, opened the pouch and retrieved the blank paper once more.

However, the instant he drew it out, several lines of text suddenly appeared on the white paper.

After Ye Cha quickly finished reading, he was utterly astonished. He had never imagined he wasn’t the ‘waste’ everyone spoke of, but rather an exceptionally rare and special individual.

This ‘specialness,’ however, was something Ye Cha wanted no part of.

The reason was simple: the Heavenly Net Physique. While an exceedingly rare spiritual body, it came with an unavoidable drawback.

The Heavenly Net Profound Poison…

This was the origin of the red line on Ye Cha’s wrist. Once the red line spread across his entire body, the Heavenly Net Physique would be complete!

At that point, even with Ye Cha’s ‘waste’ aptitude of five spiritual roots, he would still be capable of turning the cultivation world upside down, unrivaled within his cultivation realm.

Even challenging those above his realm would yield unpredictable outcomes.

It sounded quite impressive.

However, within the cultivation world, the Heavenly Net Physique was infamous.

Particularly since Ye Cha had already pledged allegiance to the foremost righteous sect, becoming a disciple of the Lingtian Sect.

If his Heavenly Net Physique were discovered, he would undoubtedly be executed immediately.

After all, every cultivator in history who possessed the Heavenly Net Physique had been a notorious demonic cultivator. Even if Ye Cha were to explain that it was merely those demonic cultivators who were perverse, and that it had no direct relation to the Heavenly Net Physique itself, no one would believe him.

Therefore, to preserve his own life, Ye Cha had to grow stronger.

Only by elevating his cultivation realm could he suppress the growth of the Heavenly Net Physique, granting him more time to prepare for potential dangers.
