Chapter 34: The Ghost Cultivator’s Malice

The woman in purple was petite, appearing only slightly taller than a child.

Her delicate, diminutive stature gave no hint of any ferocity.

However, the moment Shen Ruotong saw the woman in purple appear, a wary expression crossed her face.

“Zi Linglong, you’re still alive?”

“…”

Immediately, Shen Ruotong’s single question successfully cut short the woman in purple’s laughter.

She looked at Shen Ruotong, utterly speechless, thinking, ‘After centuries apart, this woman is as dull as ever!’

Although their relationship was far from friendly, after such a long period of animosity, they were, in a way, another kind of friend, weren’t they?

‘Honestly, she just wanted to kill someone. Why did they have to stop her!’

‘And that brat! How dare he ruin her plans?’

Hmph.

‘Truly, he has a death wish!’

As the thought of the little wretch who had ruined her plans crossed her mind, Zi Linglong cast a sidelong glance at Ye Cha, who stood before Shen Ruotong. Her purple eyes gleamed with undisguised malice.

The message was clear.

Ye Cha should die, and soon.

Ye Cha, observing Zi Linglong’s blatant animosity, felt a flicker of confusion. He had traversed the cultivation world for many years and encountered countless female cultivators, yet none had ever shown him such overt disgust.

‘How strange…’

Unbeknownst to Ye Cha, Zi Linglong’s unique cultivation method had caused an unusual transformation in her body.

For certain periods, she would become transparent.

Indeed, she would literally turn transparent.

Moreover, as her cultivation grew stronger, the duration of this transparency would increase.

During these periods, she was unable to make contact with anyone.

Particularly when encountering men, her transparent body would exhibit a distinct repulsive reaction, which, upon reaching Zi Linglong’s brain, would cause her immense suffering.

It felt as though ten thousand needles were ceaselessly pricking her.

Thus, Zi Linglong detested men, and she loathed their proximity even more.

Whenever she encountered a male cultivator outside, she would kill them without a second thought.

After all, she was a ghost cultivator, feared by all!

If her methods weren’t ruthless and venomous, how could she live up to the title of ‘ghost cultivator’?

However, as Zi Linglong’s cultivation continued to advance, her periods of transparency had now extended to a full week. She believed that with further improvement, maintaining transparency for an entire month would not be difficult.

While transparency was akin to a form of invisibility, Zi Linglong’s strength was considerable, and she was on the verge of breaking through to the Void Refinement Realm. There were no enemies significant enough to warrant her needing to hide.

Instead, her inability to reveal her true form before others had cost Zi Linglong many valuable opportunities and items.

Yet, due to the nature of her cultivation technique, she could not change this.

However, she could use an auxiliary item.

If only she could obtain that particular item, the problem of her transparency would also be resolved.

As this thought crystallized, Zi Linglong’s gaze suddenly became fervent. She subtly tilted her head to glance at Zhou Lingling, her eyes now filled with an even more peculiar glint.

She *had* to obtain that item!

No one would stop her.

“Shen Ruotong, four hundred years ago, though I was defeated, I left you an interesting gift. Now that we meet again, it’s time to unwrap it and see!”

Zi Linglong’s smile was triumphant. After clapping her hands together, a burst of purple smoke suddenly appeared, engulfing Shen Ruotong entirely.

The dense purple vapor, like a barrier, severed Shen Ruotong’s connection with everyone else, completely obscuring her form.
