Join the ServerIt seemed he was focusing his senses on the direction where hostility could be felt, now that all his perceptions had sharpened.
“I think it’s over there.”
Baek Eun-hoo stared toward the direction Mo Jun-young pointed. As electricity crackled around him, the growling sound grew louder.
So they found it!
A wave of regret hit late, if they had used the kiss skill in advance, it would have been much easier to deal with the vampire when it appeared.
Mo Jun-young clenched his fist, his body trembling. It felt as though all power had gathered into him, an overwhelming pressure like that of a wild beast emanating from him.
The reason for his nickname, Invincible body, was because he could turn his entire body as hard as rock and crush enemies with immense physical force.
“Se-yoon, freeze the point where Jun-young’s power is gathering so it can’t move!”
As Seong Ju-an pointed, Gong Se-yoon shouted and thrust his hand forward. Moisture from all around the dungeon gathered into one place, forming a massive block of ice. Something that had been invisible as a vampire now appeared, a giant bat trapped inside transparent ice.
“N-now!”
At Ju-an’s shout, Mo Jun-young was just about to charge at full speed toward the ice…
Krrr! Kkik!
From behind the ice, the remaining bats began pouring out. The vampire at the center couldn’t move, but it was gathering power to break the ice.
Kyaaa!
The vampire bats surrounded the frozen vampire, biting at the ice with sharp fangs as if trying to free their boss. Mo Jun-young paused briefly to steady his breath, and in that moment, Baek Eun-hoo swung his whip.
“I held back in case the ice broke, but this won’t do. Let’s clear out the annoying ones first.”
Struck by the lightning whip, the bats were fried one by one and fell to the ground.
Ju-an checked the remaining count.
“About 500 left. Ji-chan, take the rear!”
The remaining bats kept flooding behind the vampire. Joo Ji-chan gathered power, flames rising around him.
“To beat birds, you become a bird!”
“Technically, bats are mammals.”
Ignoring Baek Eun-hoo’s jab, Ji-chan slammed the ground and launched himself upward. Activating his skill, Successor of the Vermilion Bird, he transformed into a massive flaming bird. Just flying through the swarm turned the bats to ashes.
“Now it’s up to me.”
With all the bats guarding the vampire gone, Mo Jun-young stomped forward and launched himself toward the ice.
Boom! Boom! Crash!
With explosive sounds like a mountain shattering, the ice broke apart. The vampire inside took the full force of Mo Jun-young’s relentless assault and was slammed into the cave wall.
Seizing the moment, Joo Ji-chan drew a massive blade.
“Wow… your weapons are really something.”
With a smirk, he unleashed flames in all directions and drove the blade into the vampire’s heart.
“Graaah!”
Burned black, the vampire roared. Even after the finishing blow, it staggered forward toward Mo Jun-young.
“Not happening!”
Gong Se-yoon fired an ice bomb, freezing it again. Mo Jun-young immediately followed up with a body slam, shattering the ice, and the vampire collapsed.
“Kaaah…!”
As its groan echoed through the cave, the vampire dissolved into smoke. The hundreds of bats on the ground vanished as well.
“Is it over?”
As the bats disappeared and the party relaxed, the dungeon itself faded. Light poured in, and the damp cave transformed into an open field under bright sunlight.
Ju-an staggered slightly at the sudden brightness. Se-yoon quickly rushed over to support him. Leaning on him, Ju-an looked around at the party. Everyone was smiling.
They had done it again.
Grabbing Se-yoon’s hand, he raised it high.
“We won!”
Meeting each of their gazes, he added firmly,
“You were all amazing! But… how did you wake me up back there?”
At that, Mo Jun-young’s smile faded, replaced with awkwardness. Baek Eun-hoo chuckled.
“A sleeping beauty wakes with a prince’s kiss.”
Se-yoon pouted.
“Since when are there four princes?”
Ji-chan shrugged.
“Well, you’re alive, aren’t you?”
Only then did Ju-an realize what had happened. They must have taken turns kissing him to break the vampire’s charm.
His face flushed red.
Seriously… who names a skill “kiss”…?
As he grumbled inwardly, Eun-hoo smirked.
“Want to know who came up with that idea?”
Ju-an glanced at Mo Jun-young, barely holding back a smile.
“Why… why are you looking at me like that?”
“Mr. Invincible body!”
“…What?”
“So it was you, huh?”
Watching Jun-young fluster like that made him laugh. Such a strange person, warm-hearted and diligent, yet always looking annoyed.
Ju-an stepped forward and hugged him tightly.
“Thanks to you, I lived. I’m really glad.”
Jun-young cleared his throat and stepped back.
Catching his breath, Ju-an looked at everyone again.
“When I was unconscious… I called your names. Loudly. But no one answered. I thought that was it…”
His voice trembled slightly before he continued,
“Thank you… for saving me.”
As he bowed, Se-yoon clung to his arm with a shy smile, Ji-chan laughed heartily, and Eun-hoo ruffled his hair. Meanwhile, Jun-young just stared off into the distance, face red.
Which made Ju-an want to tease him again.
“Mr. Mo, looks like I’ll be spending the night with you.”
Jun-young turned sharply.
“Watch how you phrase that. It’s protection duty, not ‘spending the night’.”
Even when saying the same thing, he made it sound so dry.
As they talked, Se-yoon waved his arm impatiently.
“Hyung, I’m next, in two days. I get two whole nights.”
Seeing his bright smile, something clicked.
“Se-yoon! Your depression status is gone!”
“Huh? You’re right! I was just so happy we saved you!”
With everything resolved and no one injured, it was time to check the rewards.
Ju-an opened the status window.
<STAGE 5 Dungeon Result – CLEAR>
<Reward Card – OPEN>
– Buffer Seong Ju-an’s active skill awakens.
“An active skill…?”
He swallowed and read on.
<Healing Touch (S) – Heals allies’ wounds>
“Wow…”
A healing skill, exactly what they needed as dungeons grew harder.
“Everyone, check your party window.”
They all did, eyes widening.
“A healing skill? That’s huge,” Eun-hoo said.
“As expected, hyung is the best,” Se-yoon added.
“That’s kind of broken…” Ji-chan muttered.
Jun-young grew serious.
“It would be best to keep this new skill a secret. There are already rumors of groups trying to kidnap you…”
Se-yoon turned pale.
“Kidnap?! That can’t happen! If I can’t protect him, then I’ll-”
Before he could finish, Jun-young stepped forward.
“Don’t worry. I’ll stay by his side 24/7 and guard him.”
His clenched fist looked like solid steel, reliable, yet somehow sorrowful.
Ju-an knew why. The burdens Jun-young carried, the hardships he had endured… they were written on his face.
He wanted to say, It’s not your fault.
But he couldn’t, not yet.
So instead, he said,
“I trust you, Mo Jun-young.”
Jun-young’s dark eyes deepened like ink.
