Join the ServerThe first to yield results was the soap-eating group, which generally grew two sizes larger.
Perhaps because the substances stuffed into their bodies were essentially a mixture of fats, which were much easier to “digest” than weird materials like metals, their progress was the fastest, though the developmental results of the two slimes were completely different.
One of the slimes discarded its previous light-blue, translucent gel-like sphere appearance, becoming somewhat like… an extra-large goblin soap?
Regardless, in terms of appearance, its color was no longer different from that of goblin soap.
The other slime remained light blue on the outside, but at the core of its gel-like body was a small, dark gel mass resembling a miniature version of the goblin soap.
She wasn’t as reckless as before this time; she used a wooden stick to poke the slime that resembled a large bar of soap.
Upon first contact, Su Na felt that the texture was quite different from that of an organic slime, as its consistency was much harder.
Before Su Na could take any further action, the slime, which had eaten its fill and was lying down, squeaked twice.
It gently rubbed against the wooden stick as if scratching an itch, and then, under Su Na’s slightly brightened gaze, white foam began to appear at the point of contact.
To confirm her hypothesis, Su Na scooped it up and rubbed it vigorously against the wooden stick, and it indeed felt quite similar to soap.
However, after rubbing it for a while, she noticed that the slime’s color had become slightly lighter.
Shaking her head, she tossed it back, thinking she would check tomorrow to see if it recovered.
If it couldn’t recover, or if it required magic or soap raw materials to do so, then it was actually quite useless.
After all, if she had to spend her leisure time feeding it to wait for such changes, she might as well just grab a bar of soap and rub it a few times instead.
Next, she poked the other one with the wooden stick.
Whether it was an illusion or not, when the wooden stick in her hand made contact, the texture felt like poking a water balloon, giving off a trembling sensation of sloshing water inside a balloon.
This time, Su Na thought for a moment, snapped the wooden stick, and took a small piece.
After meeting a bit of resistance, the stick went inside smoothly.
Then, under her gaze, the dark core inside the translucent slime glowed faintly.
The piece of wood began to rotate inside its body as if entering a vortex.
Faint white foam flickered inside, and the scene looked just like…
“Washing machine!!!”
Su Na scooped it up; this fellow was already the size of a basketball.
Perhaps because Su Na had been feeding it constantly during this period, it appeared exceptionally obedient.
It was unlike when she had first captured it, when it would constantly alter its shape to escape through the gaps in her arms, or wrap around her arm in an attempt to suffocate it.
According to Su Na’s estimations, if she continued to feed this little fellow, it would likely grow even larger.
When that time came, it wouldn’t be impossible for it to turn into a slime-type automatic washing machine.
Perhaps this wave had completely exhausted Su Na’s good luck for today.
The slimes stuffed with other items showed no special changes, merely the metallization process that Lucy had mentioned and Su Na had researched in her files.
Depending on the properties of the swallowed metal, the defensive power of the slime’s outer layer shifted toward the corresponding metallic material.
It behaved like a hollow metal ball, incapable of turning into an ore-producing machine, and seemed to lack any cost-effectiveness.
For the time being, Su Na couldn’t see any practical use for them, and the one stuffed with a gemstone showed no differences other than growing larger.
In comparison, organic materials seemed far more suitable for slimes to consume.
However, there was an unexpected surprise.
The slime that had previously attempted to corrode Su Na’s glove had become significantly more corrosive.
The ball of wool yarn she had placed inside beforehand had already been completely dissolved.
In the area where it resided, Su Na fished out a hard, solidified lump of an unknown material.
She tucked it away, stuffed a piece of raw meat into its belly, and tossed it back.
Then she began taking notes.
First of all, there was still quite a lot of operational potential for slime appliances.
Magic was something that even ordinary people possessed, so replenishing it was actually not as difficult as imagined.
The generation of magic seemed to be linked to the replenishment of energy from a person’s daily intake of food.
Of course, this also depended on how high its consumption actually was, whether it could exceed the magic output of an ordinary person, or how many people were needed to supply energy to sustain its work and survival.
This area clearly required more specialized experimentation; relying on her alone could only get things to this point, and any follow-up adjustments would have to be handled by professionals.
Closing her notebook, Su Na rubbed her temples and muttered softly: “It seems I need to start scouting for some subordinates.”
Building a loyal team was definitely something she had to do, but Su Na was never in a rush regarding this matter; at the very least, she had to get a general sense of the true character of the people around her.
