Ye Xingchen’s mind was in utter turmoil at that moment.
He certainly hadn’t wished to make his grand entrance sporting a plastic Ultraman mask. Were any other transmigrators to witness this, they would undoubtedly nail him to the pillar of chuunibyou shame and flay him.
To make matters worse, he was currently cradling Su Liyue in a princess carry, looking precisely like a mishap on the set of some tokusatsu show.
Yet, the problem was, he had no other recourse!
As an alchemist, the only experimental masks he had crafted on a whim were from the Ultraman series.
It had been born purely from a mischievous impulse, a desire to test whether Mu Wanqing, when Su Liyue recounted Earth’s tales, could distinguish between the faces of Ultraman, Zoffy, and Jack.
After all, those three Ultramen resembled triplets; only a true fan could tell them apart.
Who could have predicted such a peculiar use for them today?!
[Master, the ears on your mask are still reflecting light…], Qizai transmitted, barely suppressing a giggle.
When Su Liyue had dramatically summoned the *Ultraman* theme as background music with a swing of her staff, Ye Xingchen’s lips, hidden beneath his mask, had still twitched with embarrassment.
He had to admit, however, that this move was one he’d learned from Chief Qiao.
For how could a powerful individual make an entrance without their own exclusive background music?
Since the mask was already donned, he might as well maximize the dramatic flair. After all, the natives of this world wouldn’t understand the lyrics, merely finding the melody inexplicably stirring…
As it turned out, this maneuver was as steady as an old hound.
With a mere flick of Ye Xingchen’s finger, the combined, all-out assault of the three figures opposite him dissipated like smoke.
It was, quite literally, ‘annihilation with a flick of a finger.’
The skull on the hilt of the black-clad figure’s sword was so terrified it had begun chanting a reincarnation mantra on its own.
‘It seems I haven’t lost my touch,’ Ye Xingchen mused, nodding to himself.
Though the outfit’s embarrassment factor was off the charts, his overwhelming power was enough to transform any flamboyant display into legendary gravitas!
The first to recover their wits was the leader, who wielded a scimitar.
From that recent strike, he clearly sensed that the person before him was no ordinary individual.
While their initial combined attack might have been thwarted because they hadn’t exerted their full strength, the subsequent display was undeniably effortless.
Regardless of whether this person possessed a unique magical artifact to withstand their assaults, proceeding without understanding the situation was exceedingly perilous.
Moreover, the bizarre mask they wore and their ability to traverse the air inexplicably instilled a profound fear in him, suggesting that this person was truly formidable.
“Since you possess such formidable power, yet do not resemble any of the mighty figures we know, may I inquire if you are aware of our identities?” The leader proposed, realizing that facing such overwhelming strength, it would be prudent to employ a softer tactic to buy time.
“Boss, this…” The black-clad figure with the skull sword began, but was silenced by a single look from the scimitar-wielding leader, preventing him from speaking further.
Ye Xingchen’s brow involuntarily twitched.
‘Those who were just speaking so insolently are now acting remarkably courteous,’ he mused inwardly. ‘They are undoubtedly either stalling for time or plotting something.
However, I happen to have some interest in this cave, and judging by their demeanor, it’s clear they aren’t here for the first time, making them perfect guides.’
“What concern is it of mine who you are?” Ye Xingchen retorted.
“What’s this? Were you not rather arrogant just moments ago? You dared even to bully my woman!?”
Though Ye Xingchen had not intentionally infused his words with spiritual energy, the invisible aura of transcendent, saint-level spiritual power and authority that emanated from him instantly weighed down on the three black-clad figures present, causing them to collapse onto their knees as if burdened by mountains.
The excruciating pain of sharp gravel digging into their knees jolted the black-clad figures into full awareness.
The gulf between them and the man before them was truly immense!
A mere display of his imposing aura was enough to render them utterly defenseless in an instant.
Such formidable power, they realized, could only belong to a peak expert of the continent.
“Senior, I believe there must be some misunderstanding!” The leader of the black-clad figures, despite harboring some suspicions, felt compelled to step forward as the head of the trio.
After all, they were no longer the arrogant and overbearing trio they had been moments ago.
As their leader, every word he uttered now potentially held the power of life or death for all three of them!
To be frank, Ye Xingchen, drawing upon his memories from his previous life, already harbored no particular fondness for these tattooed individuals.
Especially since they had, without a word of warning, dared to lay hands on his confidante, Mu Wanqing.
By his nature, he should have simply obliterated them with a single slap, teaching such ignorant fools why the flowers bloomed so red!
However, at this moment, he clearly harbored other questions about this location, and these three were undoubtedly the best means to resolve those queries.
To let them go so easily would be to squander the prime opportunity to understand this place.
For the two skeletal remains of cultivators found here might very well conceal the secrets pertaining to his return to Earth and the Spirit Realm.
