The call with Sejun ended just as Eunwoo arrived at Jae-eon’s apartment. Eunwoo wiped the phone screen, which had grown warm against his ear. The battery was at 2 percent.
Oh, heavens. Dear God.
Modern people were like that, weren’t they? No one was likely to call, but without a phone they got anxious. Eunwoo was no different.
“Ah, I think I packed it this morning…”
Eunwoo muttered as he dug through his bag. He was sure he’d brought a portable charger, but no matter how much he searched, it wasn’t there.
“I’m screwed.”
He lowered the brightness to the minimum and switched on battery saver, but he couldn’t bring the 2 percent back. In the end, the phone died with a final flicker, leaving only a black screen. Eunwoo could only despair.
“Eh, he’ll come soon.”
Besides, Jae-eon had said today’s shoot would end early. It was 9:10. With his phone dead, he couldn’t go inside somewhere in case he missed Jae-eon.
Eunwoo decided to wait in front of the apartment for Jae-eon, who might come at any moment. He’d said he’d be quick, so Eunwoo kept repeating that to himself.
But waiting outside on a cold night for someone with no promised time wasn’t easy. The forecast had warned of a sudden cold snap, and the temperature swing made it a pretty cold night for November.
His body temperature kept dropping. No matter how deep he shoved his hands into his pockets, they stayed cold. Eunwoo blew on his hands now and then. His nose and cheeks had turned red.
Under his arm, Jae-eon’s ridiculously expensive coat was tucked neatly in a shopping bag. He glanced at it now and then, but Eunwoo didn’t think he could just wear something that expensive.
‘He said it would end soon… Why isn’t he coming, this guy.’
Tears even welled in Eunwoo’s eyes. Sometimes when it was cold, tears streamed down his face. Today seemed to be one of those days. Even his eyeballs felt frozen.
If he counted to twenty and Jae-eon still didn’t come, he’d leave. It was already the thirteenth time he’d thought that. If he left, Jae-eon would probably show up right after, so Eunwoo couldn’t bring himself to move.
It was past 9:50.
“Ugh, cold… Ah, Jae-eon!”
Eunwoo had never been so glad to see Jae-eon’s face. Eunwoo, crouched down, shot to his feet the moment he spotted Jae-eon and waved.
Jae-eon, getting out of the van with a tired face, saw Eunwoo standing in front of the apartment, and his expression hardened. He must have come straight without changing, since his school uniform pants showed under his padding.
“What are you doing? Why are you waiting here.”
Eunwoo didn’t know why, but Jae-eon was angry after finally meeting him. The pheromones of an angry Jae-eon washed over him, and Eunwoo froze in fear.
Maybe his mouth had frozen from the cold, because he couldn’t get angry, argue, or even make an excuse.
Jae-eon took off the thin padding he was wearing and draped it over Eunwoo’s shoulders. A familiar warmth wrapped around Eunwoo’s body.
“First, come here.”
Jae-eon entered the apartment door password, wrapped an arm around Eunwoo’s shoulders under the awkwardly draped padding, and led him inside. Eunwoo still had no idea why Jae-eon was angry. Jae-eon didn’t speak until they got on the elevator.
“Jae-eon…”
“Why were you waiting there? Aren’t you cold?”
“Hey, it’s not like I wanted to…!”
“I texted you the apartment password. So why did you wait like an idiot, huh.”
Ah. Jae-eon stared at Eunwoo as if he could pierce right through him. The closed elevator was filled with Jae-eon’s pheromones. Eunwoo pressed his trembling hand with the other and tried to steady himself.
“I couldn’t… see it. My battery died.”
“The coat.”
“…”
“What do you think a coat is for?”
“I…”
“If you’re cold, f*cking cover yourself with it!”
The coat was still neatly folded in the shopping bag in Eunwoo’s hand. Jae-eon held his forehead with one hand like someone with a headache.
He looked so distressed, and with Jae-eon’s pheromones clouding his head, Eunwoo found himself thinking he should apologize.
The elevator reached Jae-eon’s floor. Jae-eon got off first, tugging one sleeve of the padding. Eunwoo, defenseless, was pulled along by Jae-eon’s hand and soon stood in front of Jae-eon’s door.
“Sorry. I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for now…”
“…”
“I’m really going crazy because of you. If I don’t come, leave, or go wait somewhere inside!”
“I got it, so stop. I said I’m sorry.”
“Ha, seriously.”
“I’m going now.”
Now Eunwoo felt wronged too. He’d gone through all that trouble to wait, and Jae-eon was the one yelling at him. He had every right to feel upset.
His big eyes brimmed with tears, but Eunwoo opened them wide and fought not to let them fall. Without another word, Eunwoo held out the large shopping bag with the coat.
“Where are you going?”
Jae-eon opened the door, but instead of taking the bag, he grabbed Eunwoo’s wrist. Eunwoo’s eyes, meeting Jae-eon’s, were full of hurt. Jae-eon’s anger, which had flared up, cooled on its own at the sight.
Jae-eon’s eyes were mixed with many emotions. He looked like he wanted to scold, to comfort, to apologize, and…
“Come in before you go.”
His voice had softened a little. Jae-eon pulled Eunwoo’s wrist and brought him inside. The door closed behind them.
Thud.
The shopping bag with the coat dropped to the floor. The moment the door closed, Jae-eon’s lips covered Eunwoo’s.
Startled, Eunwoo couldn’t even close his eyes, and his eyelashes trembled. Jae-eon’s lips were cold too.
Eunwoo raised his arms and pushed Jae-eon’s shoulder, but Jae-eon pressed closer. With Jae-eon’s pheromones rushing in like a tide and his tongue swimming inside Eunwoo’s mouth, Eunwoo couldn’t think straight.
“…Nn, haah…”
“Open your mouth more.”
Just as their lips parted, Jae-eon’s thumb pressed down lightly on Eunwoo’s chin to open him wider. Before Eunwoo could say anything, his breath was swallowed by Jae-eon’s lips. Jae-eon’s tongue invaded the soft flesh of Eunwoo’s mouth again.
Eunwoo pushed at Jae-eon’s shoulder, but it didn’t budge, like a solid wall. It was a little frightening and exciting at the same time. Eunwoo didn’t recognize his own body.
Jae-eon’s pheromones poured out and consumed Eunwoo’s body. His sensitive skin felt like one giant erogenous zone. Even a slight brush made his body tremble.
“Ah…”
Jae-eon wrapped an arm firmly around Eunwoo’s waist, which seemed ready to collapse, and held him up. Eunwoo’s ears burned bright red.
A firm thigh pushed between his trembling legs and rubbed against him, and it was unbearably embarrassing.
Eunwoo’s mind was hazy like he was drunk, and he was swept up in excitement as if he were in heat. He didn’t know why, couldn’t explain it, but he wanted to cry.
Jae-eon tightened his arm around Eunwoo’s waist, and the padding barely hanging on Eunwoo’s shoulders fell to the floor.
Eunwoo barely opened his wet eyes and met Jae-eon’s gaze. As Eunwoo looked away, not knowing what to do, the lips that had touched again parted.
He hadn’t even noticed when, but Eunwoo’s arms, which had been pushing Jae-eon’s shoulder, were still trembling.
“Is this… also a greeting?”
At the unexpected response, Jae-eon laughed in disbelief.
“What are you talking about? Who said that?”
“…The manager…”
“You need to stop hanging around with that manager.”
Jae-eon kissed him briefly again, then hugged him and stroked his back and shoulders. The unexpected excitement had raised his body temperature, but the cold still clung to Eunwoo’s jumper.
“Why is your body still so cold?”
“You’re cold too…”
“Stay still.”
Jae-eon hugged him tighter.
“I’m so upset I could die, seriously.”
Jae-eon’s tight hug made it hard to breathe, but Eunwoo decided not to say anything right now. Eunwoo leaned his head on Jae-eon’s shoulder and quietly closed his eyes.
Sunlight poured over his eyelids, and Eunwoo half-opened his eyes. An unfamiliar ceiling, bedding that smelled unfamiliar. As soon as that thought registered, Eunwoo bolted upright.
He put his right hand near his heart and thought it was a relief nothing serious had happened last night. Both he and Jae-eon had been too worked up last night, emotionally and physically. Looking back, it seemed insane.
Eunwoo’s thoughts naturally went back further, to when he’d kissed Jae-eon. Good God. Eunwoo grabbed his hair alone in the empty room.
It was already his second kiss with Jae-eon. The first one happened during script practice, so he could let that slide, but this time he had no idea how to explain it to himself or compromise.
Even Jae-eon’s sexy face as he lunged at him came to mind, and Eunwoo let out a small groan. ‘Why am I so weak to Park Jae-eon’s face, seriously.’
Whether it was pheromones or something else, he hadn’t really intended to push Jae-eon away, and even if he had, he doubted Jae-eon would have been pushed by his strength.
What had Jae-eon been thinking? Was this just another greeting like before? Eunwoo once again recalled the colorful history with women he’d heard about.
After last night’s intense body heat sharing(!), Eunwoo’s face had burned red and he’d tried to run, but Jae-eon caught him.
‘Sleep over.’
His heart had pounded so hard at those words. He’d been so scared and terrified, but,
‘I won’t eat you, so sleep in the guest room.’
Why had he felt disappointed when Jae-eon said he wouldn’t eat him?
“Aaaaaah…”
When his thoughts got that far, Eunwoo felt like he might be the one hoping something would happen. No way, calm down. What kind of person is Park Jae-eon, anyway!
He was a shameless guy who kissed anyone, a vicious employer, and a wolf who gobbled up coordinators.
In that moment, though he had no religion, Eunwoo wanted to believe in God. He remembered the Catholic church or Protestant church he’d followed a friend to in elementary school. Eunwoo sought God in his heart.
Please, deliver me from evil.
Eunwoo, who had been yanking at his hair, stopped and looked at his wristwatch. Then his face went pale and he got out of bed.
“Ack!”
The clothes he’d borrowed from Jae-eon last night were too big and long, and the bed was higher than normal, so Eunwoo almost tripped and fell as he got out. Luckily he caught his balance, let out a sigh of relief, and threw open the door.
When Eunwoo opened the door of the room where he’d slept, the kitchen came into view not far away. The house was ridiculously large, so the kitchen was spacious and clean.
And at the kitchen table was Jae-eon, a piece of toast in his mouth as he spread jam on another. With Jae-eon sitting there with a calm face, it was a truly beautiful and peaceful morning scene.
“You’re awake.”
Jae-eon set the toast from his mouth on the plate and spoke.
“Yeah, thanks to you…”
Jae-eon’s eyes blatantly swept up and down Eunwoo’s body. Eunwoo frowned and plopped down in the chair across the table.
“What? What’s with that look?”
“Nothing. I gave you something on the small side, but it’s still big on you. Want some?”
Eunwoo, who had been glaring, snatched the toast from Jae-eon’s hand and shoved it into his mouth. He must have been hungry.
“I’ve said this over and over, but it’s not that I’m small, it’s that you’re abnormally big… Ah, right! Our shoot!”
He’d forgotten the reason he’d rushed out of the room, but the shoot suddenly came back to him, and Eunwoo dropped the toast from his mouth. Thanks to that, sticky strawberry jam smeared on his red lips.
Jae-eon calmly reached out and wiped the strawberry jam from Eunwoo’s lips with his thumb.
