Hall wasn’t bluffing.
Before he ran, he had, of course, gathered information about his pre-amnesia self.
It was roughly a standard “Long Aotian” template. He could read at one, do addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division within a hundred at three, his constitution was excellent at five, and at seven, he joined the children’s class of the Royal Kingdom’s Divine Swordsmanship Academy, excelling in both academics and swordsmanship, always ranking first in his grade in exams.
Later, he was selected for the Black Knights’ reserves and dominated in the summer camp, causing all the noble boys in Saint Louis to complain endlessly.
At that time, the multimedia in Saint Louis used ridiculous, chuunibyou terms to describe Hall, like “the Papal State’s new star,” “the young tiger of Faxtius,” “the brother who inherits Margaret’s name,” and “the little goat of the Black Knights.”
But as chuunibyou as these terms were, his strength was unquestionable.
He had always won.
Before his reputation was ruined, he had almost never tasted defeat.
And the rumors were indeed ridiculous.
In just those few months, his reputation had seemingly changed overnight.
“Hehe, Specialist William, you have quite the mouth.”
Prince Charles had never met anyone more arrogant than himself in his life.
Just a specialist from the Black Knights, how could he be so pretentious?
Frida said nothing, just observed Hall’s, Lov’s, and Christine’s reactions.
She knew very well, especially Lov’s expression, that it could determine the outcome of this match.
But Lov’s expression at this moment was a little panicked.
Christine, on the other hand, was calm, as if nothing had happened, which made Frida a little confused.
Two people who were familiar with Hall had two completely different reactions.
So would Hall win or lose?
“Whether my mouth is big or not, we’ll only know after we fight. I’m very busy, Your Highness.”
Hall thought for a moment and decided to act like a show-off.
In the plot, Christine was usually very low-key and didn’t like to be ostentatious.
If he acted like a show-off as William Russell, it would actually be quite good.
After all, if he used his real name to be a show-off, he would very likely be found out by Himan and the others far away in Saint Louis and arrested on the spot.
“Hehe, Specialist William. After the banquet, I’ll ask you for some guidance. Swords have no feelings. If you get hurt somewhere, don’t blame me.”
Charles was still very arrogant.
Facing his provocation, Hall just nodded plainly.
And said no more.
Christine also didn’t say much, occasionally exchanging a few words with Frida.
The second prince of the Bal Empire was also quite low-key.
In the plot, this person belonged to the dormant faction.
His political ability was not as good as his older sister’s, but he had an advantage in terms of gender.
The other brothers and sisters who wanted to challenge their older sister would most likely be defeated or simply eliminated, so he just stayed low.
In the late game, players would find that a war broke out between the East and West, and the power within the Bal Empire.
No matter what, he could basically be on the list of survivors in the imperial palace.
Charles was certain to die.
Frida’s probability of death was not high.
She was often the final power behind the scenes, but she could also die.
This was hard to say for sure.
Lov was bluffed by him.
Although the little girl had seen some of the world, she had at most only mixed in the circles of Saint Louis and read the newspapers of Saint Louis.
She knew that the characteristic of the Bal Empire was that it was long-standing and ancient.
And among the five orthodox countries of the Western Continent, the highest seat of the Papal State was the [Holy Light Throne], Elan was the [Magic Throne], Cateline was the [Ice Throne], the ancient Kingdom of Elan was the [Sand Throne], and Bal was the [Throne of the Sword].
This represented the different focuses of the five countries.
The royal family of the Bal Empire also had a title that had been passed down for thousands of years, the [Royal Sword].
This was the highest honor for a human swordsman in the Western Continent.
Every Hero had been awarded this title.
In addition, some soft-sell newspapers in Saint Louis would always boast about “how good the people of the Bal Empire are with swords,” saying things like “the birthday gift for a ten-year-old male in the Bal Empire is surely a knight’s sword” and so on.
But Hall knew this was an old wives’ tale.
In reality, the commoner families of Bal couldn’t afford a knight’s sword at all.
It was usually the petty bourgeoisie or the middle class who took pride in this.
Lov was very panicked.
She was afraid that Hall would lose.
Compared to the Young Master leaving Christine’s side, she was more afraid that the Young Master’s loss would be bad for his reputation, or that the sword, having no eyes, would really hurt Hall.
So she pulled at the corner of Hall’s clothes, her small face full of worry.
But Hall just patted her back.
And said, “Alright. If I hurt Prince Charles, I also hope the royal family of the Bal Empire will not blame me.”
At this time, there was a use for Frida.
He looked at this eldest princess who had been observing him for a long time and said.
“I’ll have to trouble the eldest princess to be a witness.”
Considering that Charles was a troublemaker who could threaten the heroines, if Hall didn’t act, he would be a nuisance every day.
Once he acted, he would of course have to achieve some results and gradually get rid of Charles.
Besides, he knew that this eldest princess also didn’t like her third brother very much.
From this aspect, their interests were consistent.
“I’ll have to trouble my big sister to be a witness.”
Charles was sure of his victory.
As long as he tied Frida to his side, it wouldn’t matter how he treated Hall.
If the sky fell, his big sister would hold it up.
What’s more, this guy was just a specialist from the Black Knights.
What great status could he have?
They were all cannon fodder who sold their lives for the Black Knights.
“Alright then. In the name of Frida Bal, I will witness the duel tonight between Specialist William and Charles Bal.”
Frida didn’t say much.
She planned to see how much skill Hall had now.
“Miss Frida, do we look a bit familiar?”
After dinner, the group came to the arena of the imperial capital of Bal.
This was an ancient building, and in terms of area, volume, and craftsmanship, even the royal city within the imperial capital of Bal from a thousand years ago could not compare.
The reason was that this thing was not built by the human race.
The one who had ordered its construction was a certain Demon Lord who had once ruled the human race of the Western Continent.
Under the Demon Lord’s orders, human slaves or warriors could fight with monsters here to obtain various rewards.
In the game, this was represented by the player being able to have the heroine participate in duels of various levels in the arena.
They could obtain different rewards and honorific titles from the Bal royal family.
At this moment, Christine, Frida, and the others were sitting in the VIP seats.
Hall and Charles were standing on the left and right sides respectively.
The dueling platform of the entire arena was one kilometer long and wide.
It was quite exaggerated to look at.
“Ah, perhaps, Miss Christine. Speaking of which, as a Bal person, you seem to have not been back for a long time.”
Frida looked at Christine.
The two women’s gazes were both very deep.
They were sizing each other up and probing.
Frida felt she had the upper hand.
She had some understanding of what had happened three years ago.
Although she didn’t know why the Holy Son and the Angel of the Salvation Church had died.
But as a former partner, Frida felt that the Holy Son and the Angel would not both die.
At most, only one would.
Unless the Holy Son had died and the Angel had committed suicide for him, but the Angel’s absolute rationality would only choose to live on and avenge the Holy Son.
Or the Angel had died and the Holy Son had committed suicide for her, but that was also impossible.
The Holy Son would also only choose to avenge the Angel.
He would not commit suicide for the Angel.
That was because he didn’t only have the Angel by his side.
Mandosha Flower was still alive.
The Holy Son would not give her up to follow the Angel in death.
So when Mandosha Flower had sent her, the Holy Son’s partner in the Bal Empire, a message three years ago, Frida hadn’t taken it too seriously.
But the Holy Son and the Angel had indeed not continued to be active in the Salvation Church.
Until one day, when her subordinate had gone to Christine’s blessing ceremony, she had received a photo sent by her subordinate.
Seeing Christine’s appearance, she knew that the Angel was not dead, but had transformed into a Saintess Candidate.
Actually, it should be like this.
If the Angel and Mandosha Flower had not been taken away by the Holy Son in that big fire, they should have been adopted by the Church’s aftercare agency.
With the Angel’s ability, the Angel would surely become a nun, and then develop into a Saintess Candidate.
As for Mandosha Flower, that woman’s swordsmanship was excellent.
She would be selected as a member of the Black Knights and become a core member.
“Ah, I should have lived in the Bal Empire as a child, but after that big fire, I was adopted by the Papal State’s aftercare agency into a certain church in the Papal State as a novice nun.”
“Is that so? Does Miss Christine still remember which church it was?”
Hall and Charles were making preparations.
Frida’s question, on the other hand, made Christine frown.
Right, her memory of her childhood was only clearer before that big fire.
And it seemed someone had also escaped from that big fire with her.
Later, it seemed she was adopted by the Church and became a novice nun.
Then she was recommended by a nun to become a formal nun, and then three years ago, she was selected by Cardinal Roan to become a Saintess Candidate.
After the orphanage fire, she should have been living in the Papal State.
But she couldn’t quite remember where she had lived in the Papal State.
It seemed…
A place name with no relatives came to mind.
Christine was sure that she had lived in the church there after the fire.
But she seemed to have never gone back these past few years.
“You don’t quite remember, do you?”
Frida looked at Christine.
With the other party’s intelligence, if she was hiding something, she would have casually said a place name where she had lived.
But Christine didn’t say it.
She knew Christine was thinking.
That’s right, Christine was probably not an Angel who had infiltrated the Church, but she had lost her memory.
Understanding the situation, Frida immediately stopped talking.
The blonde girl in the Saintess robe drank a few sips of tea and then said faintly, “Princess Frida, you seem to be paying too much attention to me, this Saintess Candidate.”
“Oh my, I heard that Miss Christine healed Ilora in Saint Olan. I don’t know if it’s true or not. If it is, then there’s nothing strange about me paying attention to you. I also hope you can become the next Saintess, so that I can build a good relationship with you and let the Lord’s grace descend upon Bal again.”
Frida found it interesting.
Because before, the Holy Son had been more biased towards the Angel.
When they had cooperated, the two of them working together, she was five or six years older than these two little ones, but she would often be at a disadvantage.
Every time she negotiated terms, she had to give them concessions.
Now that she had a chance to get a handle on this little sister Christine, she of course couldn’t let it go.
“I haven’t become the Saintess yet. The eldest princess Frida is a bit hasty.”
Christine said不動聲色, “We are not familiar with each other. How much do you know about me?”
“I know a lot about Saintess Candidate Christine. I believe you have the ability to become the Saintess.”
Before Frida’s voice had finished.
Below, a seven-colored rainbow light had already flashed.
Charles couldn’t understand.
His swordsmanship was clearly not something that could lose to a passerby.
But this light had blocked his five senses.
He only felt his abdomen being hit first, and then his calf being pierced by a sharp blade.
These two attacks made him unable to stand.
Charles swung his sword wildly.
He had never been in such a mess in his life, and he had never expected Hall to be so unsportsmanlike, activating the special effect of his blade right at the beginning.
And he had never expected even more.
That Hall, as a small specialist from the Black Knights, would have such a formidable weapon.
The strength of a weapon’s active effect was usually related to the sword-forging technique, but more importantly, the weapon’s material.
If the weapon’s material was not good, even if the sword-forger was world-class, it would still be like that.
Charles was now level seventy-six.
The active effect of a weapon below Master-grade against an enemy was basically ineffective on him.
And with Charles’s own amulet and the blessing of a royal specialist, the effect of a Master-grade weapon would also be weakened on him.
The fact that Hall’s weapon could completely suppress his five senses meant that Hall’s weapon was of legendary grade.
But a legendary-grade weapon, even he, a prince, had never owned one.
He had already underestimated his enemy, and had not expected this situation at all.
And Charles, who had never been in a mess and had always had a smooth sailing life, was thus fiercely suppressed by Hall.
When the rainbow light disappeared, Hall had already left countless wounds on him.
Charles was beaten to the point of being unable to stand and knelt on the ground in front of Hall.
He was humiliated, but he couldn’t change this posture.
Once he did, the pain from his knee to his thigh, to his abdomen, would almost tear him apart.
“Then the winner is decided, Princess Frida.”
Hall calmly turned his head to look at Frida.
Frida stood up and clapped her hands.
“Well done, Specialist William. It seems you can protect Saintess Candidate Christine.”
Frida showed no face to Charles at all.
Because Charles’s mother and her mother were not the same person.
Only that Charles’s mother’s family, the Lauren family, was indeed very powerful in the Bal Empire.
But many of the ministers’ daughters in the palace had also been harassed by this prince, so he was very unpopular among the ministers and nobles.
Although moving against Charles without reason on a normal day would win the support of the ministers and nobles who had suffered from him, it was a mediocre strategy for Frida.
Hall used to use her a lot before, so now she would use this Holy Son in return.
“Big sister… he cheated!”
Charles was very unwilling.
“A loss is a loss. As a scion of the Bal royal family, are you going to deny the fact that you lost to Specialist William today?”
Frida stood up from the VIP seats of the arena.
Because this place was usually closed, and now that they had opened it, the big lights at the four corners of the platform were also on.
The princess in the VIP seats stood under the yellow light.
Her mature woman’s face showed a moment of majesty, which was very oppressive.
Charles was usually very afraid of his older sister, but they were not from the same mother after all.
Frida had made him lose so much face, and had even made him submit to a running dog of the Papal State.
That was not okay.
“I… I don’t admit it! If you have the guts, let’s fight again another day.”
“Second brother, why are you doing this? If you fight again, it will take at least ten days to a half month for your injuries to recover.”
The second prince, who had been silent all this time and had also chosen to observe the match, suddenly spoke.
“Of course I will recover as soon as possible. Second brother, you don’t need to say anything more. It is impossible for me to submit to this William.”
Charles was still being stubborn.
Of course, his thoughts were also stubborn.
He felt this was an accident.
“Oh, whatever. But next time, I won’t hold back.”
Hall thought for a moment.
He still had to stay in the Bal Empire for half a month and might have some scruples.
But if Charles challenged him again in half a month, then he would not hold back any means.
And Frida was helping him now, which meant that this princess also intended to suppress Charles’s mother’s Lauren family to a certain extent.
In the plot, it was also so.
The Lauren family was a huge stumbling block to Frida’s secret power as empress.
After Hall had said his harsh words, Charles also said his harsh words, and then he was taken away by the second prince.
This second prince was the type who did not offend either side.
When Frida and the Lauren family were about to decide the winner, he would then take a side.
But Hall didn’t care either because Lov had already hugged him excitedly.
The young master was super amazing!
He could even easily defeat the prince of a country like Bal, which was famous for its swords.
Needless to say, he was strong, invincible, and super amazing!
Besides that, Lov couldn’t think of any other words to describe Hall’s performance tonight.
Christine, on the other hand, smiled on the side and said, “My William knight, congratulations on defeating the third prince of the Bal Empire. It seems that when you return to Saint Louis this time, your promotion is in sight~”
Hearing Christine’s words, Hall knew she was teasing him again.
Promotion?
If he were to be promoted, the only positions above would be the deputy commander-in-chief of Saint Louis, the commander-in-chief, the vice-captain, and the captain.
But in reality, all four of these positions were very important.
The commander-in-chief of Saint Louis was in charge of the Black Knights of the Papal State.
The vice-captain and the captain could mobilize the Black Knights’ subordinates in any country where the Church was secretly present.
The operation where Hela had led the elites to attack the ice and snow elves was not carried out by people from Saint Louis.
Not all of them were from Saint Louis.
There were many members from the Elan Kingdom and the Cateline branch.
Hall felt that if he were promoted, he would definitely be tied to the Church’s pirate ship.
“Promotion? I wonder what Specialist William’s current position in the Black Knights is?”
Frida was also very interested.
The former Holy Son had run off to the Black Knights.
In a sense, once the Black Knights were merged, they would surely become the most serious threat to the Salvation Church, just like the Judgment Bureau.
Interesting.
She found it very interesting.
However, if Frida knew that Hall had become a reserve of the Black Knights before he was the Holy Son, she would not be so interested.
Unfortunately, Hall had not told her these things back then.
Frida’s impression of Hall was that the Holy Son of the Salvation Church was accompanied by two little beauties, Mandosha Flower and the Angel.
The Angel was responsible for literature and politics, while Mandosha Flower was like a fighter.
But the Holy Son himself was also skilled in both literature and martial arts, not at all inferior to the two little beauties by his side.
“Specialist William is already the captain of the Black Knights and is appreciated by the cardinals.”
“Oh, I see. Specialist William has a promising future. Saintess Candidate Christine, no wonder you chose him as your guard. Speaking of which, I don’t have a guard either.”
Frida looked at Hall with her foxy eyes.
Hall sensed the danger.
Although Frida could not be chosen as a heroine, in the plot of the Bal Empire, her status was very important.
If the player wanted to deal with the Bal Empire, whether it was to be her enemy or her ally, it was a necessary route.
And because Frida’s political talent was almost the highest in the game, in terms of playing with power, she was not inferior to the vampire empress, the Demon Lords, and some of the old monsters.
It was also very difficult to recruit her as a supporting character.
And in the game’s plot, it would sometimes trigger Frida to run off with Hall, which made the player very frustrated.
The cheat was gone just like that.
In the process of tracking Frida, Hall might be replenished to death.
Then the player would find that Frida, who originally had A-rank swordsmanship and magic talent, would suddenly become a tricky opponent with dual S-rank swordsmanship and magic talent.
At this time, it was very deadly.
It was hard to get rid of this evil feeling without killing Frida.
But killing Frida and fighting the dungeon would consume a lot of resources.
So in theory, this very scheming woman, if she discovered that he could replenish magic, would also definitely replenish him to death.
“Doesn’t the eldest princess Frida have a guard? There are plenty of young and outstanding scions in the Bal Empire. As a great country of swordsmanship, my swordsmanship is just a drop in the bucket in front of those outstanding youths.”
“Specialist William is being modest. Sigh, if it weren’t for Miss Christine booking you in advance, would you be interested in being my guard? I can offer a very high salary and conditions.”
Frida winked her foxy eyes, and her fingers fidgeted.
How to put it?
This eldest princess, in terms of age, was a mature woman, but in terms of experience in those aspects, she had never done it once.
She exuded a certain fragrance like an unpicked flower that attracted insects.
And that cleavage that was revealed in front of her because her dress was tight.
How to put it?
This cleavage could almost instantly kill Lov and Christine, who were relatively flat-chested.
“My cousin has to return to the Papal State to report after his work is done. The eldest princess should find someone else.”
Lov was so angry, her teeth were itching.
First it was that big-breasted woman on the train, and now this eldest princess.
She basically never went out.
Why did she run into this kind of very busty woman as soon as she went out?
Damn it!
This was supposed to be a three-person world for her and the Young Master.
But it wasn’t at all.
From the day they left until now, it hadn’t been at all.
There was no three-person world.
After being angry, she felt a little like crying again.
So unlucky.
Why was she so unlucky?
Perhaps as a maid, she shouldn’t have those unrealistic fantasies.
Just staying by the Young Master’s side was the best way.
“Oh, is he really your cousin, this young lady?”
Frida’s sudden sentence stumped Lov.
It directly left the little maid with nothing to say.
But at this moment, Christine said.
“Why not? Your Highness, the eldest princess, you don’t know Specialist William, so how can you know his family affairs?”
She began to probe.
She had already felt that Frida was suspicious.
“I’m just guessing, Saintess Candidate Christine. You are a Saintess Candidate, and in the future, you will be the Saintess, the eyes of God. As the eyes of God, can’t Saintess Candidate Christine tell if Specialist William and Miss Lov are cousins?”
Frida was extremely pleased.
Very good, the amnesiac Christine was not as difficult to deal with as before.
Now she definitely had the upper hand.
“How about it, Saintess Candidate Christine? Do you dare to swear in the name of God that Specialist William and Miss Lov are definitely cousins?”
But Christine just said softly under the dim light of dusk.
“Is it that I don’t dare?”

I’m suddenly curious, when the Bal empire nearly crushed regilion what is their legitimacy? What’s stopping people from asking why are they being ruled by the Royal family? Especially since they would be excommunicated barring everyone within from going to heaven.
