Join the ServerLooking at Yukina, whose face was completely flushed with embarrassment, Ephnel’s eyes were filled with amusement as she took off the apron and sat on the bed.
“What’s there to be embarrassed about? I saw everything I should have long before you woke up.”
“Eh?”
This person was peeking at her while she was asleep?
Yukina froze.
Ephnel let out a light laugh and slowly wrapped her arms around Yukina from the side, blowing softly into her ear.
“The things I shouldn’t have seen, I saw those too.”
Yukina felt like her face was about to cook through.
“Not only did I see, I also touched, and tasted. I know exactly what shape, what temperature, and what flavor they are.”
‘Please stop talking…’
Yukina completely understood now; Naoko could be a tease sometimes.
“Mas-ter-~”
She enunciated these two words with extra emphasis.
Ephnel’s fingers slid across Yukina’s chin, down her neck and shoulder, and with practiced ease, stripped Yukina bare, covering the softness on her chest.
The familiar touch made Yukina unconsciously shrink her shoulders slightly.
Yukina instinctively closed her eyes, tilting her neck slightly to lean back against Ephnel’s body, letting Ephnel have her way.
She had to admit, Ephnel’s fingers were long, flexible, and strong.
Truly fitting for someone who wielded a spear.
It was these very hands—that had made Yukina fall countless times, her flower bud easily plucked.
The trembling sensation brought by Naoko’s body heat, the numbness that snapped her sanity, still lingered in Yukina’s body even now.
The feeling Ephnel left behind had not yet faded.
Her body still hadn’t seemed to recover.
Just a couple of teases from Naoko and she was already growing hot.
That intoxicating pleasure was about to be reawakened by Naoko’s touch.
Yukina tilted her chin up, her pink lips swaying towards the person behind her, like a flower waiting to be picked in a gentle breeze.
Ephnel naturally lowered her head as well.
The pressure from her knuckles intensified with her breathing.
Yukina’s hands couldn’t embrace the person behind her.
With nowhere to go, her hands unconsciously rested on her own heating body, letting herself go limp step by step, sinking into Ephnel’s arms.
By the time the two sisters finished breakfast and arrived at the hospital, it was nearly noon.
The hospital wasn’t as busy today as it had been the past few days.
The nurse who had been in charge of Ephnel’s care wasn’t there.
Ephnel found the doctor on her own, quickly got her medicine changed, and completed her check-up.
“From the looks of it, your recovery is going very well, Miss Ephnel. At this rate, you might be fully recovered in less than a week. Starting today, we’ll adjust your medication slightly. Here is the detailed medication list…”
“See? I told you it was nothing.”
Ephnel shot Yukina a look, sticking out her tongue in a mischievous smile.
The meaning was clear: “You’re not allowed to find any excuses to cancel our date today.”
Yukina gave Ephnel’s thigh a small, vexed pinch.
“Even if you’re recovering well, you still need to be careful. Don’t get carried away!”
“Indeed. Miss Ephnel, it would be best for you to pay close attention to your physical condition to avoid any unexpected situations.”
The doctor nodded in deep agreement and continued:
“In any case, there are no problems with your current physical state. We will send the detailed check-up report to your phone later. Please be sure to check it.”
The doctor tapped a few things on the computer.
Since there were no issues with her body, Ephnel had no other worries.
She thought for a moment and suddenly asked, “Speaking of which, the hospital seems much quieter today. Have those soldiers been discharged?”
“You’re asking about those soldiers… It’s not wrong to say they’ve been discharged, but their treatment isn’t over. They’ve just been moved to a different place.”
“Eh? How are they doing now?”
Part of the reason Ephnel was concerned about those soldiers was that they had all been injured in the battle against the Erosion Organisms and the Angel.
Most had suffered varying degrees of Erosion infection, and those who had been hit by the Angel’s beam showed particularly noteworthy signs of mutation.
Like Ephnel, they had all been immediately sent to the operating table for tissue removal surgery to stop the spread of Erosion energy within their bodies.
It could be said that if they hadn’t been sent here in time, their final fate would have been all but sealed—once the Erosion energy spread from their wounds, the rise in infection rate would become a certainty.
They would quickly turn into “Remnants” in endless pain, eventually attacking their former teammates and the other humans in this city.
The doctor saw the worry and concern in Ephnel’s eyes, sighed softly, and said, “This isn’t a dedicated quarantine point, after all. Many of them were transferred after their conditions stabilized. The ones who remained were gradually sent to other hospitals for follow-up treatment. They are warriors who protect the city; they will surely receive the best arrangements. Miss Ephnel, you don’t need to worry too much.”
“Mm… thank you for telling me.”
Ephnel nodded, then asked, “In that case, has Nishizaki Yuki been discharged too? I noticed her room seemed to be empty when I passed by earlier.”
“Miss Nishizaki… she was discharged this morning.”
“Is she alright?”
“She… her recovery is going well, but that’s not the reason she left the hospital.”
The doctor’s expression turned a little strange, as if remembering something hard to explain.
“She said lying in a hospital bed all the time didn’t make her look like a doctor, so she left this morning right after getting her medicine changed…”
“That… sounds just like her…”
Ephnel gave a wry smile.
It seemed she would have to call and chat with this spontaneous friend of hers.
She had been thinking that she hadn’t brought any gifts since she had come to the hospital in a hurry, but it turned out the person she was going to visit had already left.
She wasn’t sure if you could call that a coincidence.
Before long, a nurse brought over a few boxes of medicine.
The doctor handed them to Ephnel and said, “While you’re recuperating, be careful not to drink alcohol, or eat overly spicy or other irritating foods…”
After the doctor went over some precautions for taking the medication and for her recovery period, Ephnel left with Yukina.
Ephnel didn’t leave the hospital directly, but instead took Yukina to the Special Care Unit.
Compared to the other areas, the wards here seemed especially quiet, and there were even soldiers on guard.
This was a ward area specifically for special cases and quarantine patients, open only to Agents.
Shiina Rin and Fuurin Shion’s rooms were here.
Visiting Fuurin Shion and Shiina Rin was something Ephnel did every time she came to the hospital.
