Chapter 16: The Princess’s Authority

The familiar feeling of weightlessness struck again, and the icy seawater brought a suffocating, bone-chilling cold.

Violet stared blankly at the familiar world before her, a chill crawling up her spine.

The magnificent black shadow, which she had only caught a glimpse of before, was now floating not far from her, its single eye glowing red, staring at her without blinking.

Anyone stared at by an eye the size of a skyscraper would involuntarily feel fear, not to mention the countless thick tentacles beside that single eye.

The first time she entered, she could still vaguely perceive the outside world, as if playing an immersive 4D VR game.

Although what she saw was detailed, there was still a hazy sense of dislocation.

But this time, it was as if she had truly fallen into this underwater world.

Violet could clearly feel the contact between her body and the icy seawater, and even her limbs were gradually becoming numb in this low temperature.

There was no sunlight in the entire world.

The single eye of the black shadow was the only source of light.

With that eerie red light, Violet looked around the world and saw that in the vast underwater world, there were only two living beings: her and the black shadow.

Whether it was an illusion or not, Violet felt that the red light of the single eye was slightly brighter than before, as if this evil god, who had been sleeping for who knows how long, was awakening.

“I have to get out of here first!”

A sense of crisis arose in her heart for no reason.

She slowly swam backwards, wanting to get away from this magnificent black shadow.

However, the moment she turned around, a tentacle shot out, tightly wrapping around her ankle and pulling her backwards.

Violet was startled.

Her unrestrained leg instinctively kicked at the tentacle.

When they made contact, she felt as if she had kicked a steel bar, and her injured leg went numb with pain.

The tentacle seemed to be enraged.

It held onto Violet’s ankle tightly, the force so great that it felt as if it would crush her bones.

The intense pain caused physiological tears to well up in the girl’s eyes.

She struggled desperately, trying to break free from the tentacle’s control.

Unfortunately, her resistance was like a joke in the face of the tentacle’s power.

In the blink of an eye, she was dragged by the tentacle to the front of the black shadow.

At this distance, her vision was filled with the red light emitted by the single eye.

Like being hypnotized by an app, Violet felt her consciousness gradually dissipate, as if her soul was being cut into pieces.

More and more tentacles shot out from the shadows of the seawater.

They wrapped around Violet’s body, the force so great that it seemed they would crush her into a pulp.

Her limbs, waist, abdomen, and even her neck—the bones all over her body were groaning under the unbearable pressure.

Pain stimulated her reason.

Violet whimpered in pain, but her strangled throat could only squeeze out broken sounds.

Blood flowed from her slightly parted lips, dyeing the seawater red.

A faint smell of blood diffused through the world, spreading in all directions.

Just as Violet was about to take a trip to heaven, the tentacles suddenly stopped and then retracted as if electrocuted.

Violet, who had regained her freedom, felt as if her whole body was about to fall apart from the pain.

She weakly covered her mouth, but couldn’t stop the blood from flowing through her fingers.

She had already recognized the identity of the black shadow from its iconic single eye and tentacles.

But she didn’t understand why Nastasia would attack her so uncharacteristically, and even want to eat her.

Countless tentacles still swayed in the shadows, like snakes watching their prey, reaching out to her.

But without exception, they all retracted upon contact with Violet’s blood.

Some tentacles even started fighting with their companions, and the scene was chaotic for a moment.

Seeing this, a spark of an idea ignited in Violet’s pain-numbed mind.

Ignoring her body, which was already suffering from excessive blood loss, she swam forward.

She would use her own blood to awaken Nastasia’s consciousness.

As the distance closed, Violet could feel the power tearing at her soul gradually strengthening.

But she didn’t hesitate.

While her hands and feet were still not numb, she desperately swam forward.

Time blurred into an abstract concept at this moment.

Countless tentacles formed a wall like a school of fish, moving with her, but without exception, they scattered after touching her blood, clearing a path for Violet to reach Nastasia.

After who knows how long, her consciousness was blurry, and only her obsession remained.

She finally arrived in front of that single eye.

Violet placed her hand on the single eye with a tremble, her voice as soft as a mosquito’s buzz:

“Nastasia, wake up…”

She couldn’t even finish a complete sentence before the exhaustion from her body and soul made her vision go black, and she completely passed out.

Perhaps the evil god heard her kin’s call.

The originally quiet world began to tremble.

Countless bubbles rose to the surface, and the previously chaotic tentacles became still as if time had stopped.

The thickest main tentacle parted the seawater and gently caught the sinking Violet, as gentle as if protecting a fragile treasure.

The tentacles that had previously attacked Violet were uprooted by Nastasia.

Purple-black blood spurted out, and the pain made Her half-close her eye.

These tentacles were a part of Her body, or rather, they were a part of Her authority.

But Nastasia didn’t hesitate at all.

She grabbed these tentacles and instantly refined them!

She was even worried that it wasn’t enough, so she pulled out a few more handfuls, completely dyeing the clear seawater purple-black.

As the number of followers broke the one hundred mark, Nastasia had now awakened her authority.

Although she was still some distance from the first stage, it was enough to use.

But Nastasia showed no attachment at this moment, directly pressing the ball of light, which represented half of her authority, into Violet’s body.

At first, the ball of light still wanted to break free from her body and return to Nastasia, but after being beaten violently by Her tentacles, it could only obediently shrink into Violet’s body and merge with her.

Feeling the dying girl’s aura gradually recovering and strengthening, Nastasia finally let out a long sigh of relief, and her dancing tentacles also relaxed.

Only then did She realize that She had just bled a lot.

The recently calmed world rippled again.

Nastasia dragged her huge body and rolled in the seawater, churning the water with a splash.

Even though it hurt like hell, Nastasia didn’t cry out in pain.

The tentacles that wrapped around Violet didn’t even tremble, just to give the tired her a quiet place to rest.

The magnificent divine body gradually returned to silence, but a faint black light emanated from the chest of Violet, who was protected by the tentacles.

Unlike the ink-black light released by Nastasia, the black light on her chest seemed to be a corner of the night sky, with countless stars hidden within.

Clearly, even the same authority would have different effects on different people.

The faint black light flashed and disappeared, not arousing anyone’s notice.

The chaotic underwater world, with the passage of time, once again returned to its original state.

The difference from the beginning was that there was now forever a patch of missing tentacles, and an additional small figure protected in the arms of the evil god.
