“I thought you enjoyed performing for an audience, so I let you be. Was I mistaken?”
“Of course not!”
“Then what are *those*?”
Lee Cheongshin’s voice shifted in an instant. It wasn’t just his voice; the entire atmosphere surrounding him transformed.
Even Doyoo, who had been struggling against the unfamiliar pressure, froze completely.
Yet, Seong Heeyu merely smiled, composed.
“Greetings, Mr. Lee Cheongshin. I am Seong Heeyu, Team Leader of Kadan’s Special Unit 1.”
As if to prove his identity, Kadan’s magical emblem shimmered into existence before Seong Heeyu, then vanished. This unique magic was exclusive to team leaders, a clear testament to his rank.
Lee Cheongshin glared at Seong Heeyu with an annoyed expression. It was a stark contrast to the way he looked at Doyoo, a hostile gaze that gleamed with a murderous intent.
Doyoo noticed the team members behind Seong Heeyu stiffen under that glare, but Seong Heeyu himself remained unperturbed.
“There has been a misunderstanding on our part. We mistakenly identified Mr. Lee Cheongshin as a lawbreaker involved in several incidents and attempted to apprehend him.”
“However, we just received word from the Association President confirming that Mr. Lee Cheongshin is not the culprit.”
“Kadan is truly incompetent, isn’t it? How can you be so certain I’m not the culprit now?”
“If suspicions arise again later, will you simply raid my home, break down doors, tamper with barriers, and interrupt my private time, just as you did today?”
Sarcasm dripped from Lee Cheongshin’s lips. At his words, Seong Heeyu’s gaze briefly flickered to Doyoo, pinned beneath Lee Cheongshin. More precisely, his eyes landed on Lee Cheongshin’s hand, which was still touching Doyoo.
Even as he spoke, Lee Cheongshin’s hand diligently continued to caress Doyoo’s body.
His words might have held more credibility had his hands paused, but despite openly enjoying himself, his speech flowed smoothly.
However, Seong Heeyu was a team leader. Instead of pointing out the oddity of Lee Cheongshin’s words, he spoke in a clear tone, ensuring that poor Doyoo, who hadn’t yet grasped the situation, could fully understand.
“I will take full responsibility for all damages incurred due to this incident and ensure proper compensation.”
“Mr. Lee Cheongshin’s information, as the son of the Kadan Association President, was thoroughly protected, which led to this unfortunate situation. This will not happen again. I offer my sincerest apologies.”
Upon hearing “Lee Cheongshin, the Association President’s son” from Seong Heeyu, Doyoo gasped. In that instant, a vivid image flashed before his eyes: the face of the woman in the photograph he had seen a week prior, hidden away in Lee Cheongshin’s study.
‘Why didn’t I realize it sooner?’
‘You poor thing. You only wanted to be loved.’
The woman in the photograph, whom Lee Cheongshin had called his mother, was unmistakably the face of Kadan’s Association President—a face Doyoo had seen only once, the day he was freed from death row at age twelve and taken to Kadan Headquarters by Seong Heeyu.
Doyoo felt a serious urge to bite his tongue.
Doyoo had previously wondered how the information the intelligence department provided about Lee Cheongshin could have been so ‘clean.’
Now, hearing that Lee Cheongshin was the Association President’s son, that question crumbled instantly. ‘Of course, it would be clean,’ Doyoo muttered to himself.
Protecting the Kadan Association President’s son, even manipulating information, was only natural!
Doyoo screamed internally, looking up at Lee Cheongshin, who still showed no intention of getting off him.
Lee Cheongshin, his face clearly etched with displeasure, continued to glare at Seong Heeyu.
Yet, seeing Lee Cheongshin’s hand diligently caressing his body, Doyoo wondered if the man was truly displeased.
He decided not to voice his doubts.
“We will withdraw once restoration is complete. We apologize for disturbing Mr. Lee Cheongshin’s sleep.”
Seong Heeyu spoke courteously. Doyoo harbored a flicker of hope.
He might have to write a letter of apology or face punishment if summoned to the Association, but it was certainly better than being found pinned beneath the Association President’s son in front of his team.
However, Lee Cheongshin merely clicked his tongue and remained utterly unmoving.
“You ‘disturbed my sleep’?”
Doyoo wanted to confront Lee Cheongshin. ‘Why are you suddenly looking at me?’
Following Lee Cheongshin’s gaze, Seong Heeyu’s eyes also turned to Doyoo.
Doyoo’s face flushed crimson. He was intensely, terribly embarrassed. ‘What a mess I am, half-undone like this.’
And of all people, it had to be Seong Heeyu. Realizing Seong Heeyu was witnessing his pathetic state, Doyoo felt like crying.
“Allow me to correct myself. I apologize for interrupting your ‘romantic endeavors.’ ”
“We will wait outside your house, so please inform us when you are finished.”
“Team Leader—!”
Feeling betrayed by Seong Heeyu, whom he had expected to rescue him, Doyoo desperately called out to him. Seong Heeyu, after sending his team members who had been idly watching the situation downstairs, turned back to Doyoo.
“Doyoo, you don’t have to mind us. Take your time and enjoy yourself.”
A good-natured smile spread across the man’s face. Seeing it, Doyoo immediately understood that Seong Heeyu knew the truth and was deliberately acting this way.
He wanted to shout ‘Traitor!’ but couldn’t.
All this chaos stemmed from his own misunderstanding; Seong Heeyu and his team had simply trusted him and gotten caught up in it.
As the cause and instigator, he knew that if he went back to headquarters without somewhat appeasing Lee Cheongshin, an even bigger problem would arise. He couldn’t resent Seong Heeyu.
‘Still, couldn’t he have at least *pretended* to save me, just for appearances?’ Doyoo whimpered inwardly.
At that moment, Lee Cheongshin whispered intimately into Doyoo’s ear.
“Finally, the intruders are gone, Senior. Now it’s just the two of us.”
At his chilling words, Doyoo swallowed hard. He quickly collected himself and spoke in a rapid tone.
“Mr. Lee Cheongshin, as the Team Leader just stated, I am a member of Kadan’s Special Unit 1 and I raided you to fulfill a mission.”
“Given that my misunderstanding has caused you harm, *Mmph!*”
“Why are you speaking so stiffly, Senior? You wound me. Call me ‘Cheongshin-ah’ affectionately, like always. Hm?”
It would have been less irritating if he’d just remove the hand covering Doyoo’s mouth before blathering on.
Meanwhile, Doyoo was aghast as Lee Cheongshin pressed his lips to his chest once more.
In the room bathed only by moonlight, the beautiful face, with its lips pressed against Doyoo’s exposed chest, appeared incredibly sensual and alluring.
Even in this compromising situation, it was captivating.
“As expected, Senior Doyoo’s scent is the best. I want to swallow it.”
“……!”
Doyoo’s body trembled violently at Lee Cheongshin’s breath against his chest. The hand that had covered his mouth was gone, yet he couldn’t speak.
“W-wait a moment, Mr. Lee Cheongshin—”
“If you call me ‘Mr. Lee Cheongshin’ one more time, I’ll just ram you.”
Though he didn’t specify what or where, Doyoo could only part his lips, unable to utter a single word.
Then, abruptly, Lee Cheongshin looked at Doyoo’s face and smiled enchantingly. Just as Doyoo sensed an ominous feeling from that smile, Lee Cheongshin lifted his upper body.
For some unknown reason, Lee Cheongshin’s lips, which had been descending lower and lower, were now removed—a welcome relief.
He let his guard down.
“Senior, is your natural hair color light brown? It’s so beautiful. Black hair suits you well too, but light brown suits you even better.”
With those words, Lee Cheongshin began to kiss various spots on Doyoo’s face.
The hand that had been touching Doyoo’s body now gently caressed and stroked his softly curling light brown hair.
If affection could be conveyed through touch alone, Lee Cheongshin’s current touch was certainly doing so.
As Lee Cheongshin watched his every reaction, smiling with evident pleasure, his melodious voice made Doyoo fear his rapidly pounding heart might be audible.
Soon, realizing Lee Cheongshin’s intention to press his lips against his own, Doyoo instinctively raised his hands to block his face.
It was then that he realized his hands, which had felt glued to the bed, could now move.
Recognizing his newfound freedom, Doyoo immediately sprang into action.
He grabbed Lee Cheongshin’s hand, intending to overpower him, taking advantage of Lee Cheongshin’s complacency at having him as a captured prey.
However, Lee Cheongshin reacted as if he had anticipated Doyoo’s move.
He seized Doyoo’s knee, which had been about to kick him, pinning it down with one hand and shifting his weight onto it. Then, he took Doyoo’s hand, which had been attempting to twist his wrist, intertwined their fingers, and pressed him back onto the bed.
“Do you enjoy this kind of rough play? What a shame. It’s not my preference.”
“Let go of me! I truly have no intention of sleeping with you!”
Lee Cheongshin still showed no sign of letting go. Doyoo suppressed the urge to curse vehemently and continued.
“Listen closely. I was playing along because I saw you as a suspect involved in several incidents.”
“Let me reiterate clearly: I, Mr. Lee Cheongshin… no, Sir Lee Cheongshin, have absolutely no intention of engaging in such a private relationship with you.”
Remembering the threat of being ‘rammed’ if he said “Mr. Lee Cheongshin,” Doyoo hastily corrected his address. He hardened his expression as much as possible, looking up at Lee Cheongshin, who was still straddling him.
Knowing he was the Association President’s son, Doyoo couldn’t bring himself to curse aloud, so he cursed with his eyes instead.
Lee Cheongshin, his face devoid of mirth, silently gazed down at Doyoo. Their eyes met for a long moment.
Slowly, the strength drained from Lee Cheongshin’s hand that had pinned Doyoo.
Eventually, Lee Cheongshin moved off Doyoo and knelt on the bed.
