Chapter 17: The Princess’s Friend

Dawn broke, the sky a pale glimmer.

A little sunlight fell on Violet’s face, making her cheeks itch.

She subconsciously raised her hand, but found that no matter what she did, her body wouldn’t obey, as if it were being held tightly by something.

This feeling was even gradually intensifying.

Violet felt as if she had become someone’s bolster pillow, being hugged and ravaged.

So Violet opened her mouth and bit down on the arm.

There, Nastasia’s tentacles were firmly binding her arm.

The Lord Evil God was like a real tentacle monster, focusing on the captured prey.

Unfortunately, the prey would fight back.

“Ow! My hand!”

Nastasia was startled awake from her sleep, her painful scream sounding as if it would rip the ceiling off.

The tentacles that had been tightly wrapped around Violet instantly retracted, Her single eye half-closed in grievance, looking as if she were about to cry.

Unfortunately, Violet wasn’t buying it.

She coldly lifted Nastasia up and brought Her small body close to her face.

“M-My kin…”

Stared at by Violet, Nastasia’s voice was as soft as a thief’s, her gaze wandering, not daring to meet hers.

Violet didn’t speak, still staring at Her intently.

“Oh, don’t look at me like that.”

Nastasia covered her eye with a tentacle, directly avoiding eye contact.

But Violet didn’t give Her the chance to get her way, forcefully prying open the tentacle and placing Her back in the small nest on the bedside table.

“Tell me, what happened last night.”

Hearing this, Nastasia felt even more guilty.

Her tentacles wriggled towards her, hooking the girl’s finger in a fawning manner.

“Ehehe… it’s just that you were too tired, my kin, and passed out. I was the one who carried you to bed!”

This explanation was obviously not credible.

Violet crossed her arms and snorted.

“Since the Lord Evil God has something to hide from me, does that mean you don’t trust me?”

Saying this, she got out of bed and turned to leave, not forgetting to say as she walked:

“Anyway, you have quite a few followers now. Let someone else take on the responsibility of being the divine apostle. I think Tia is a good choice. I’ll go call her over.”

With that, Violet had already reached the door, but no matter what she did, she couldn’t take another step forward.

Nastasia had appeared at her feet as if by teleportation, clinging to her legs like an octopus, making it impossible for her to move.

“Wuwuwu! My kin, don’t abandon me! I know I was wrong!”

Her voice was shrill, like a puppy abandoned by its master.

Violet took a step back with a cold face, bent down to scoop up Nastasia, and met Her gaze.

“Tell me, what exactly happened? And where is that underwater world?”

She didn’t want to experience that near-death feeling again.

If Nastasia hadn’t regained her senses, she would have almost died in that deep sea.

She was willing to trust Her, but if the other party was full of uncertainty, she wouldn’t keep such a ticking time bomb by her side.

Although the early game was difficult, with the experience of her past life, Violet might not be unable to clear it in one life.

“I-I’m sorry…”

As if she had never seen her like this, Nastasia was completely different from her usual self.

She was like a child who had done something wrong, her words filled with unconcealable caution.

Faced with Her apology, Violet remained unmoved, still staring at Her quietly, waiting for her to continue.

“I really didn’t mean to hurt you. I had just regained my authority, so I didn’t react in time and treated you as an enemy.”

Saying this, Nastasia even slapped her own head hard with a tentacle.

The sound was crisp, clearly not a light blow.

Violet looked at the Evil God who was in so much pain she couldn’t even open her eye, and temporarily skipped this topic.

“Where is that place? Why did I go there?”

For some reason, as soon as the underwater world was mentioned, Nastasia seemed very dejected, but She still explained:

“…That is my divine kingdom.”

“Divine kingdom?”

Violet was shocked.

You see, a divine kingdom was a god’s main base, and only the most devout believers could enter.

Of course, if the god didn’t allow it, even the number one believer couldn’t set foot in the divine kingdom.

But for her, entering the divine kingdom was like going home.

She could enter just by reciting the venerable name, more effective than “open sesame.”

The softness from her fingertips brought back her pensive consciousness.

Violet looked up and saw Nastasia carefully coiling her tentacles around her fingertips, afraid of angering her again.

“My kin, I really didn’t mean it. Please believe me, okay? I promise it won’t happen again!”

“…”

Violet’s expression was complicated.

She didn’t know whether to trust Nastasia or not.

After all, it was a fact that she had almost died at Her hands last night.

But it was also a fact that she was still standing here, confronting Her.

The struggle in her heart turned into a sigh.

Violet looked at Nastasia’s guilty appearance and finally chose to trust her.

It had been half a month since she had transmigrated into the game.

She didn’t dare to say that she was a good judge of character, but their companionship over these days was not fake.

She would cling to her and act cute, and would also sweetly say “My kin is the best♡.”

Their relationship was more like friends than a god and a believer.

Even at the beginning, if it weren’t for Nastasia, she wouldn’t have been able to escape Syks’s control, let alone change her destiny.

As the first “friend” she had met in this strange world, Violet felt that she should trust Her more.

Although this was an Evil God, wasn’t she also the final villain?

A villain and an Evil God, a rather fitting combination.

Nastasia looked at the struggling girl and asked tentatively: “My kin, are you still angry?”

Saying this, She pulled her finger with a tentacle and brought her head to her hand.

“If hitting me will make you happy… sniff, then go ahead.”

Violet didn’t answer.

She pulled her finger from the tentacle and instead gently patted Her head, just like before.

Feeling the warmth from the top of her head, Nastasia’s eyes widened in astonishment.

Her tentacles waved helplessly, not knowing where to put them for a moment.

“I believe you.”

Violet said so, placing Her back on her head as usual, and even soothingly stroked her fur.

Feeling this trust from the bottom of her heart, Nastasia was speechless for a moment, and only after a long while did she call out in a small voice:

“M-My kin!”

“Mm, I’m here.”

Violet responded, reaching out to push open the large door in front of her.

The sunlight caressed her face, carrying the gentleness of the early morning.

The girl with the Evil God on her head stood at the door, looking at the sky with Her.

A tentacle drooped down, swayed in front of Violet, and on its way back, it helped her tidy up her messy hair.

“My kin, you’re the best!”

It was as if starlight flickered in Nastasia’s single eye.

She gently rubbed against Violet’s head, like a stray cat that had finally found its home after a night of wandering.

“My kin, can I…”

Feeling the Evil God who was showing signs of going crazy, Violet’s face darkened.

She knew she shouldn’t have been so gentle with Her!

Then, with a dull “thud,” there were two figures on the ground, clutching their heads, their eyes filled with tears.
