Chapter 19: She Was So Annoyed by Him

As long as it was for the good of the class, Himan wouldn’t refuse.

Lenny knew this well.
Himan was determined to become a true knight, and for her, the collective interest always came before personal gain.

The sense of noble honor left over from the battles against the Demon God’s subordinates a thousand years ago had mostly faded in Saint Louis, but it was still vividly displayed in Himan.

As long as Himan voted yes.

Hall would bid farewell to this Theology Day.

In fact, he also knew that Hall might not have come because he had teased Christine, but three years ago, when Hall’s reputation collapsed, that guy did indeed often skip classes.

But now Himan was a little hesitant.

After hearing Lenny’s words, she, who was angry at Hall’s tardiness, had wanted to agree directly.

After all, this was a public resource.
If Hall didn’t come, it should be given to others who needed it.

But when she was about to say “yes.”

Himan hesitated again.

She was thinking, why was Hall late today?

She remembered when they parted yesterday.

Hall said he was leaving Saint Louis.

His expression was serious.
If her cousin really wanted to leave Saint Louis, why?

Was it because his reputation in Saint Louis had been bad these past few years and he felt he couldn’t make it?
So he just decided to leave and not go to school anymore?

Although he had brought it on himself, Himan felt that as his older cousin, if he could realize that it was not easy to get by in Saint Louis, then he still had some self-awareness.

It also meant that there was still a chance for him to turn back.

If he could truly recognize this, Himan would be very relieved.

So, should she give Hall’s spot to someone else now?

Subconsciously, she wanted to wait a little longer.

The weather was gloomy today.
It started raining heavily on her way to school this morning.

With Hall’s personality of always arriving at the last minute, if it rained and he went home to get an umbrella, he would indeed be late for a while, but not skip class.

There were still fifteen minutes before Theology Day began and the instructor led them in.

The voting in the class of thirty could be done in five minutes.

So, should she wait another five minutes?

Himan looked at the wall clock.

She thought to herself that it would be fine to wait another ten minutes for Hall.
It wouldn’t hurt.

Lenny was a little surprised that Himan didn’t agree immediately.

She shouldn’t have any feelings for Hall in her heart.
Judging from the way she found opportunities to argue with Hall on a daily basis, Himan should have immediately voted to give Hall a new lesson this time.

But…

If Himan didn’t answer, he would be the one who was embarrassed.

As the son of an earl, Lenny didn’t dare to force her.
He could only laugh awkwardly and look at the others in the class, saying, “Class president Himan’s vote is more important, so let her cast the last vote.”

At this point, the people in the class began to vote.

The result of the vote was of course one-sided.

They all thought that if Hall didn’t come, they would randomly draw someone to take his place.

But before Himan could vote, the crowd started arguing about how to draw lots randomly.

Even if Hall didn’t come, there would only be one extra seat.

In a class of thirty, only about ten could go to Theology Day for sure.

There were still twenty people left, and the seats were still few.

And Himan had no mind to care about their arguments, just staring at the time on the wall clock.

Eight minutes left.

Seven minutes left.

Five minutes left…

Hall still hadn’t come.
Himan looked at the classroom door.

She knew she had to make a decision.

But why hadn’t Hall come yet?

Did he really intend to skip class completely and leave Saint Louis as soon as possible?

As the second son of the Faxtius family, he actually fled Saint Louis.

Himan remembered ten years ago, when Hall’s mother was seriously ill and about to pass away.
She had talked with the beautiful woman in Hall’s mother’s room and then walked out of the room.

She found Hall, who was wearing a small suit, standing at the corner of the corridor.

His gaze was fixed on the door of this room.

But he had no intention of coming in.

The boy’s dark eyes were clear, but there was also an emotion that Himan couldn’t understand at the time.

She thought Hall was sensible, and she thought Hall was in great pain.

So at that time she went to hug Hall, but it was Hall who patted her, who was crying because her aunt was seriously ill and about to die.

She heard him say.

“There’s nothing to be done, Sister Himan. Don’t be sad. This is all a predetermined fate.”

Fate…

It was the first time Himan had heard this word from Hall’s mouth.

Although she had learned this word from the Bible at home before she even started school, and had also heard it from her private tutor.

But she had never felt that this word could be so heavy.

As heavy as when Hall said it back then.

When did it start…

He changed.

“Forget it, I shouldn’t think too much. Maybe he just used that tone to act cool back then. He’s always been good at deceiving innocent little girls. It’s just a pity that the older he gets, the more he regresses. What he was like back then, he’s still like now.”

The oppressive feeling in her chest made Himan deny Hall.

Fine, she would vote yes.

Until three minutes before they were about to enter.

Hall still hadn’t come.
Under Lenny’s operation, this spot would be randomly assigned to someone through a lottery.

Originally, after voting yes, Himan was still a little dazed.

But looking at the clock’s hand, and hearing the instructor say “Prepare to enter.”

She thought.

Forget it, Hall was going to leave Saint Louis anyway.

If he wanted to go to school, he could go to school.
If he didn’t want to come, he didn’t have to.

She still had to continue in Saint Louis.
She wanted to graduate from the Order of White Knights as a trainee knight and join the Judgment Bureau.
After a few years of experience, she would find a way to apply to her father’s jurisdiction.

The Von family only had her, one daughter.

She should inherit the family business.
Although there had never been a female general in the Papal State so far, she could not be like Hall, doing nothing all day.

She still had unfinished missions and responsibilities.

Wasn’t it also good that Hall had left Saint Louis?

After he left, she, his older cousin, wouldn’t have to worry about his affairs anymore.
Out of sight, out of mind.

What her aunt said when she died, she had not done it, but Himan felt that she had tried her best.
If Hall himself did not act, even if countless people pushed him to do it, it would be useless.

Mmm, that’s right…

Himan stood up from her desk and followed the classmates who had been selected to attend Theology Day today to the main auditorium.

During this time, Lenny intentionally tried to strike up a conversation with her, but she ignored him as if he were air.

This made Lenny quite angry.

But Lenny was not in a hurry either.
There was no rush.

Hall didn’t come today, so something must have happened.

As long as Hall disappeared, he would be very happy.

Then he would slowly deal with Himan and take this woman into his arms.
He had plenty of time.

However, Lenny’s good mood ended a few minutes later.

Because when they arrived at the main auditorium, they clearly saw that familiar black-haired young man.

Whether it was him, Himan, or their classmates, or even their class instructor.

They all looked at the black-haired young man in disbelief.

After all, Hall seemed to be laughing and talking with a holy young girl wearing a white and gold long dress and a flower crown in the center of the curtain behind the stage of the main auditorium.
