The hero slowly opened her eyes, her pupils unfocused, her breathing faint.
She awoke upon the cross, speaking weakly, “…Did I fall asleep again? The fusion… has deepened again…”
She muttered to herself, her tone filled with sorrow and despair.
“How much longer can I hold on? How much… of ‘me’ do I still have left?”
At that moment—
“Bang!”
The prison door was shoved open, and a shrill, mocking laugh poured in, as if ridiculing some young beast that could never escape its cage.
“Hahahahahaha! Little hero, I’ve come to see you again today~ How have you been? Feeling good? Have you missed me?”
The hero struggled to lift her head, her vision blurred as she looked toward the tall figure at the doorway.
The Demon King stood there, black hair cascading like a waterfall, eyes curved in a smile.
Using all her remaining strength, she forced out an extremely weak plea.
“Kill me… please… kill me… let it end…”
The Demon King chuckled softly and walked closer, replying to the defeated one’s request.
“Kill you? Why would I kill you?”
She lifted the hero’s chin with her fingertip, her tone frivolous and teasing.
“Aren’t you more beautiful and more interesting than before? Isn’t living like this… better?”
“Demon King… you bastard!”
The hero suddenly burst out with her last shred of anger, her voice hoarse yet brimming with hatred, as if she wanted to tear the Demon King apart with her gaze.
“You ruined me! You turned me into a woman, into a monster! You filthy woman! I curse you!”
The smile on the Demon King’s face froze instantly, her gaze darkening at once.
Few dared to provoke her like this.
She snapped her fingers lightly and revealed a cruel smile.
“Heh… how disobedient.”
Disobedient ones must be punished.
Only then will they learn their lesson.
In an instant, the hero’s body went rigid.
Countless invisible electric currents slithered through her like venomous snakes, precisely piercing her mental defenses.
It was not simple pain, but an extreme stimulation that ignited every nerve ending, blasting straight into the deepest part of her brain.
“Ahhh—!!!”
She threw her head back and screamed, her back arching like a bow about to snap, her legs kicking uncontrollably.
“See? Such an honest body.”
The Demon King looked down at her twisted expression and murmured with satisfaction.
“Even your flesh is betraying you.”
After an unknown length of time, the torment of the electric current finally stopped.
The hero lay limp on the restraint frame, eyes unfocused, pupils scattered, like a doll whose soul had been drained.
Her chest heaved violently, a thin string of drool hanging from her lips.
The Demon King gazed down at her, gently lifting her powerless chin with her fingers.
A cruel yet almost tender smile appeared on her face.
“Look, how merciful I am.”
Her voice was gentle, as if coaxing a child.
“Unlike you humans, who resort to slaughter, destruction, and burning everything at the slightest provocation… how crude, how boring.”
“And me? Even my punishments are so… pleasurable.”
She paused, her eyes suddenly turning cold, carrying a hint of disappointment.
“How dull. This was just a little stimulation, and you’re already falling apart?”
“Seems my education still isn’t thorough enough.”
After all, no one finds a toy without spirit interesting.
Before the words had even faded, she snapped her fingers again.
A gentle light enveloped the hero’s body, her wounds healing at a visible pace.
Strength slowly returned, her consciousness gathering again like a tide.
When the hero could finally see everything clearly, she met the Demon King’s smiling eyes.
Those eyes looked as though they were admiring a freshly bathed kitten, curled up in the palm and trembling.
She parted her cracked lips, her voice hoarse yet stubborn to the last.
“Demon King… what about them… Sylvia and the others… how are they?”
The Demon King laughed softly, as if hearing something amusing.
“Oh? Little hero, are you worried about your companions?”
She deliberately dragged out her words, teasing the hero’s small and fragile heart.
Her eyes fixed on her playfully.
“Or is it that… the one you truly care about is only your childhood sweetheart—Sylvia?”
The hero abruptly turned her head away.
She was unwilling to let the other see the wavering and pain that flashed through her eyes.
She was even more unwilling to have her true thoughts exposed.
She didn’t know how to answer.
Yes.
Why was it Sylvia’s name that slipped out first?
She should hate all demons.
She should want to save everyone.
The Demon King suddenly wrapped an arm around the back of her neck, forcefully turning her face back to meet her gaze.
“Hero…”
She chuckled softly.
“You’re not as selfless as you pretend to be.”
“This is the real you, isn’t it?”
She leaned in and whispered by her ear.
“Don’t worry. They’re all living very happily—much happier than when they were human.”
“No worries about battle, no constraints of rules, doing things they’re truly interested in.”
“Really…?”
The hero whispered.
A trace of hope slipped into her voice without her even realizing it.
Perhaps… Sylvia was really just pretending.
Perhaps she was waiting for rescue too.
At least they weren’t suffering physical pain right now.
“Of course it’s true.”
The Demon King’s smile was bright and cruel.
“Sylvia has already agreed to become my wife.”
“She’s very obedient now.”
“She even hugs me on her own.”
“And when she calls me ‘Demon King,’ her voice is so sweet it makes me want to take her right then and there~”
“You’re lying!”
The hero exploded in rage, fury blazing in her eyes as if real flames were about to burst forth.
“Impossible! Sylvia isn’t that kind of person!”
“She would never betray me!”
“Never submit to a monster like you!”
“Impossible—!!”
The Demon King unleashed a nerve-direct magic shock.
It was precise and vicious.
It plunged her completely out of control amid extreme pleasure.
“Ahhh—!!!”
She screamed as her body convulsed violently.
Her fingernails dug into her flesh.
She tried to use pain to cling to the last shred of clarity.
“It seems you didn’t remember a single thing from these days of education.”
The Demon King’s voice grew cold as she looked down at the hero struggling within pleasure.
“To dare be so insolent before me?”
“It seems you learned nothing at all.”
“I… I’ll kill you!!”
The hero roared with all her might.
Tears and sweat mixed together.
“I will kill you for sure!!”
“Even if I turn to ashes, I will—ahhhhh—!!!”
The Demon King gazed at the hero.
Her whole body trembled.
Yet she still glared at her with her remaining will.
The smile on the Demon King’s face grew even wider.
“What an unyielding will…”
She praised her, as if admiring a treasure on the verge of shattering yet still shining.
“I thought you were already close to giving up resistance.”
“It seems I underestimated you.”
The hero clenched her lower lip until blood seeped out.
Using her final strength, she lifted her eyes and stared straight at the Demon King.
“Demon King… one day, I will take my revenge!”
“I will make you suffer pain a thousand, ten thousand times greater than what I endured today!”
