Chapter 65: It’s Been So Long Since I Felt This Comfortable 😍😍

“No—! You can’t do this!”

Bane could no longer maintain his composure.

His skeletal frame rattled chaotically with fear.

“I am the head of the Undead!

If you sever my limbs and seize my origin, you will be shaking the very foundation of the Undead race!

This act… is no different from declaring war!”

He howled hoarsely, yet it was all in vain.

The Demon King’s expression did not change in the slightest, as if she were merely listening to the cries of an ant.

Suddenly, the space behind her tore open like black silk being ripped apart, and a deep, shadowy rift burst open.

From the void stepped a pitch-black hound with blood-red eyes.

It moved without sound, yet exuded an aura of deathly stillness that made souls tremble.

Its form resembled a giant wolf, yet it was more like a beast of punishment from the underworld.

Before Bane could react, the black hound vanished like a phantom and appeared behind him.

“Crack!”

Its pale, massive jaws clamped down on the bone joints of his right arm and yanked hard.

“Aaaaah—!!!”

Though he possessed a skeletal body, Bane could clearly feel the tearing agony from deep within his soul.

That was the wail of his origin being forcibly stripped away.

His arm snapped off and flew spinning through the air, blue flames erupting wildly from the severed end.

Before he could even recover, the black hound bit down on his left leg and exerted sudden force.

“No—stop! Stop it!”

Bane struggled madly, his skeleton twisting, yet under the Demon King’s pressure he could not move at all.

“Boom!”

His left leg was torn off alive and smashed onto the ground.

Immediately after, the black hound raised its head and let out a low growl.

A pitch-black energy was forcibly drawn from Bane’s shattered body and coiled into the beast’s mouth.

That was the core origin sustaining his undead existence.

The entire process lasted only a few breaths.

Once the punishment was complete, the black hound vanished into the spatial rift as silently as it had appeared.

The rift closed, leaving nothing behind.

In the council hall, only severed limbs and a deathly silence remained.

Bane slumped in the collapsed stone chair, now supported by only one arm and one leg.

Faint ghostly light flickered at the fractures of his skeleton, the blue flames as weak as candles in the wind.

He had not only lost parts of his body, but also been stripped of thirty percent of his origin.

His strength was gravely damaged, and all dignity lost.

“Pfft…”

Vera finally couldn’t hold it in and laughed until she doubled over.

“Oh dear, oh dear… Lord Bane, just look at yourself now!

This really is a proper rest for you!”

Tears of laughter welled up at the corners of her eyes as she mocked him mercilessly.

“Mr. Skeleton, you’ll have to be careful walking from now on.

After all… you’ve only got one leg left!

Hahahaha!”

The Demon King gave Bane a faint glance, then turned her gaze toward the corner where the lich Eben stood in silence.

Her lips curved slightly upward.

“Eben, Bane is seriously injured.

Trouble yourself to escort him back to the Undead territory and ensure he recuperates properly.”

Before her words had even finished, her figure blurred and vanished from the hall.

Seeing the Demon King leave, Vera immediately sprang to her feet, eager to escape the oppressive atmosphere.

Irina followed quietly behind her.

At the doorway, Vera suddenly turned back and made a face at the slumped Bane.

“Have a good rest, Lord Commander with missing arms and legs.

I hope you… live long enough to finish your reflection period!”

“Hahahahaha—!”

Her rampant laughter echoed through the corridor.

In the hallway, Irina finally couldn’t help herself and lightly tapped Vera on the head.

“Vera, what you said just now went too far.

Even if he is at fault, he is still a high-ranking member of the demon race.

Such humiliation is not conducive to internal unity.”

“Unity?”

Vera rubbed the spot that had been tapped and pouted unhappily.

“Why talk about unity with someone so obsessed with power?

I’ve disliked him for a long time already.

Sister Morgana was still too merciful.

If it were me, I’d have crushed him into bone dust ages ago!”

“You,” Irina sighed.

“The Demon King’s handling of this was a light punishment with a strong warning.

Though Bane harbored ulterior motives, there was no solid proof of outright rebellion.

Severing his limbs and weakening his origin both serve as a warning without provoking drastic upheaval.

That is the optimal course.”

“Bad! Bad!”

Vera angrily slapped her hand away.

“Irina is the real big bad!”

At that moment—

A gentle yet powerful presence enveloped her entire body from behind.

A pair of arms wrapped around her softly, and a familiar fragrance filled the air.

“Sister Morgana?!”

Vera shuddered all over, instantly narrowing her eyes like a cat being stroked.

She murmured dreamily.

“You’re… the best…”

The Demon King rested her chin lightly atop Vera’s head and laughed softly.

“Vera, you really are an interesting child.”

“I…”

Vera’s cheeks flushed red, her voice melting into softness.

“Isn’t it just that I haven’t been able to accompany you for so long… to do that kind of… intimate activity…”

The Demon King gently stroked her silver hair, her voice low and alluring.

“Since it’s been so long…”

She leaned close to her ear, her breath warm and fragrant.

“Then let me help you feel comfortable… very comfortable.”

Hearing the Demon King say “help you feel comfortable,” Vera’s eyes instantly lit up.

Her cheeks glowed with excited color as she tugged at the Demon King’s hand eagerly.

“Okay, okay!

Sister Morgana, let’s hurry back to the room!

Don’t waste time!”

Seeing her impatience, the Demon King couldn’t help but laugh softly.

She raised a hand and gently rubbed Vera’s silver hair, coaxing her like a spoiled child.

“Vera, you really are an impatient little one.”

Her tone was gentle, yet she suddenly turned her head and looked toward Irina, who had been quietly following.

She smiled lightly and spoke.

“Irina, would you like to join us?”

“Eh?!”

Vera stiffened instantly and turned her head to stare at the dragon woman, pupils shrinking.

Almost instinctively, she snuggled closer into the Demon King’s arms, her arms quietly winding around her.

Irina remained calm and lowered her head respectfully.

“Thank you for the Demon King’s favor.

However… I still have internal reports to organize and cannot accompany you.”

“Oh?”

The Demon King let out a soft sound of surprise.

In the next instant, she vanished.

When she reappeared, she was already pressed close behind Irina.

Her warm breath brushed Irina’s ear, her voice tinged with teasing temptation.

“Irina… don’t be so serious.”

Her arm slipped around the dragon woman’s waist, her smile deepening.

“Sometimes… you need to learn to relax too.

Keeping your body too tense can cause problems.”

Irina stiffened slightly, yet still stood straight.

Her voice remained steady and firm.

“Thank you for your concern, Lady Demon King.

However, I believe that only by maintaining peak condition and a clear mind can one respond to crises at any time.”

“Heh…”

The Demon King chuckled softly, released her, and stepped back.

She tilted her head and shook it lightly.

“Irina, you really are… boring.”

Irina kept her head lowered, yet her tone carried sincere warmth.

“To serve the Demon King and handle the matters you entrust to me is, to me, the most interesting thing of all.”

Seeing her stubborn yet loyal demeanor, the Demon King finally conceded.

She waved her hand lightly.

“Alright, alright.

Go handle your interesting affairs.”

Only then did Vera quietly let out a sigh of relief, her tense shoulders finally relaxing.

The Demon King suddenly turned, her eyes smiling as she looked at her.

“Vera, what’s wrong?

You looked so alert just now, like a little bat guarding its food.”

Vera jumped in fright and quickly lowered her head, not daring to meet the Demon King’s gaze.

The Demon King laughed softly and reached out to lift Vera’s chin, forcing her to look up.

Those brown eyes stared straight into her flushed pupils as she teased.

“What, my little bat?

Are you afraid someone might come and share the affection you enjoy alone?

Are you… that greedy?”

“I…”

Vera felt heat rush through her entire body.

Even the tips of her ears burned red, steam practically rising from her head.

Her mind went completely blank, unable to think of how to answer.

Under the Demon King’s intense gaze, she finally spoke in a trembling voice, as soft as a mosquito’s buzz.

“S-Sister Morgana…

I… I just…

when I think about being alone with you later…

I feel…

really, really happy…”
