It is well-known that in novels by Feng Ao Tian, a few repulsive antagonist male characters often appear to serve as punching bags, fiercely drawing hate.
But someone as abstract as the original protagonist, Yalin has never seen before.
As the sole heir of the fallen noble family, the Ravenster family, he had no desire to restore his family’s glory. His greatest ambition in life was to remain by the side of his childhood sweetheart, Celeste.
For this humble wish, he exhausted all his family’s wealth, left his homeland, and, with great effort, managed to get into Arcadia Academy, despite having no magical talent. He resolutely entered the Magic Division where Celeste was, thus becoming a perpetual underachiever, known to all as the ‘good-for-nothing young master.’
Yet, even so, he never abandoned his pursuit of Celeste, clinging to her daily like a devoted dog, never letting go. For the original protagonist, having Celeste in his world was enough, everything else could wait.
So, even when ridiculed and spat upon, he didn’t care. But Celeste was different.
Rising from a commoner to become a brilliant girl admired by all, her world was expanding rapidly, dazzling to the point of being unapproachable. Surrounded and adored by countless people, Celeste naturally couldn’t focus all her attention on Yalin as she once did.
To the original protagonist, this seemed like a sign that his childhood sweetheart was being taken away by others. In short, he felt betrayed!
After realizing this, the original protagonist, who was already possessive, couldn’t bear it any longer. His pursuit of Celeste became an obsessive, pathological fixation. Initially, he was merely bothersome, annoying, but as Celeste’s attitude grew colder, Yalin’s actions became increasingly extreme.
He would insist to everyone that he was Celeste’s childhood sweetheart, claiming ownership. If he saw any man trying to approach Celeste, even if it was just a casual word, he would rush over and huff at him aggressively. In the most extreme case, he even carved a flower and a knife on his arm in front of the entire school, questioning Celeste why she had abandoned him.
Family, who understands this kind of guy? He’s like a walking disaster!
This character, despised by both story and readers, finally reached his moment of glory after a series of ridiculous antics and had nothing left to do. He finally had an epiphany!
He believed that the reason Celeste left him was that he wasn’t strong enough! So, in order to become a powerful man worthy of Celeste, he borrowed the power of an evil god, transforming himself into an ultimate being that was neither human nor ghost.
‘The power of humans is ultimately limited… So, Celeste, I won’t be human anymore!’
Although the line was cool, the outcome was, of course, being mercilessly blown to bits by Celeste and her allies of justice and camaraderie.
In this way, the original protagonist successfully broke through his inner demons, gaining growth and ending his tumultuous life, leaving people in awe.
To be honest, Yalin initially looked down on the original protagonist, thinking he was a pathetic loser. But after reading this, he couldn’t help but feel a deep respect.
Bro, is this necessary? Did Celeste drug you, or feed you ice, to make you lick her to this extent?
Objectively speaking, his appearance was quite good, even though he came from a fallen noble family, his family still had some wealth left. Just this starting point was something an ordinary commoner couldn’t achieve.
Moreover, he managed to get into Arcadia Academy in just one year, proving his intelligence wasn’t low. Additionally, the novel clearly mentioned that he had exceptional talent in alchemy.
Perhaps it was because he was always mixed up in the Magic Division, never showcasing his abilities, or maybe the author abandoned this plot point, but in general, the original protagonist was perceived as a clown with negative intelligence.
Until the end, he relied on his fragmentary knowledge of alchemy, using body alchemy to become an avatar of the evil god, barely managing to fulfill this plot point.
Man, what can I say?
It can only be said that it’s fortunate Yalin’s time of arrival was a bit earlier, as the original protagonist hadn’t reached that extreme level of madness yet. If he had arrived a year or so later, he would have instantly restarted without a moment’s hesitation.
But since the situation hasn’t reached an irredeemable point, Yalin decided to accept reality and continue living with this new identity.
The original protagonist’s death was mostly his own doing. Naturally, Yalin, who knew the plot, wouldn’t repeat the same mistake. And to avoid the novel’s tragic ending, it was simple: just stay away from Celeste and don’t be a loser.
What? You say she’s his childhood sweetheart and the protagonist of Feng Ao Tian’s novel?
So what? Sigma males won’t fall into such a boring trap. After all, no matter how awesome the protagonist is, he’s just a minor character to me.
Just live your life, get a high-level education at the academy, find a job after graduation, make some money, and happily play with the elf, cat, dragon, dwarf, and goblin girls. Isn’t that the dream?
From the moment Yalin realized he had crossed over, he had already accepted reality and even planned his future.
However, things didn’t go as smoothly as he expected. Because soon, Yalin discovered with horror that even after crossing over, he couldn’t escape his fate as a loser!
That’s right, he inherited everything from the original protagonist: identity, memories, family, knowledge… and of course, his loser traits!
This is what they call ‘a leopard can’t change its spots,’ right? Even if the inside person has changed, this body still retains its most primitive physiological urges!
Every morning at six, Yalin would get up on time, and before he was even fully awake, his body would automatically head to the kitchen to prepare a loving breakfast for Celeste.
Whether it was attending classes or doing homework, as soon as he took a brief break, his hand would start writing on its own, creating a sappy love letter to express his feelings to Celeste.
If he encountered Celeste in person, it was even worse. As soon as Celeste appeared in his line of sight, his heart would race, and his eyes would uncontrollably follow her. Every joint in his body would become restless, ready to dash to her side at any moment.
This feeling… it’s like Wa Xue Di facing the person who gave him a gun, completely unable to suppress the urge to shout ‘Mom!’
And if Yalin tried to use his left and right brain to fight, forcing his big head to suppress his little head, his body would experience severe withdrawal symptoms.
At best, his brain would overheat, and his breathing would become rapid. At worst, his hands and feet would tremble, and his heart would feel like it was being pierced by countless needles, causing unbearable pain.
This hellish experience could drive anyone mad. Yalin was furious.
If he could, he would have loved to drag the original protagonist out and give him a few hard slaps. Damn it! How repressed were you to continue being a loser even after your soul had perished?
Yalin, you terrifying person…
