Chapter 23: A Deal With a Husky

“No?”

“Well, I wouldn’t mind if you paid with your body.”

Actually, Seon Woo-min had prepared a framed photo of the two of them together and a handwritten letter.

But after receiving Do-kyung’s gift, he felt reluctant to present them.

Not because they seemed shabby, but because he felt sorry.

It felt like he was always just clinging to Lee Do-kyung and taking.

Of course, Do-kyung would welcome any gift without hesitation, and that was his genuine, unadorned truth.

But seeing that was even harder.

After leaving the café, they had a small party just the two of them at Do-kyung’s place.

They’d ordered meat like steak and ribs in advance, and Woo-min made burgers and lasagna from a recipe he’d developed.

Do-kyung focused exclusively on those, saying they were better than store-bought, praising the juiciness, the sauce.

Do-kyung had an exceptional physique and ate a lot, but he was actually a picky eater.

Once he felt reasonably full, he’d immediately put down his spoon.

Knowing this, Woo-min understood that he wasn’t just being polite; he genuinely enjoyed it.

Woo-min liked that Do-kyung happily ate food he’d made himself.

He too had the ability to give something back.

A balanced exchange.

Like a triangle with a wide base, it was stable and unlikely to tip.

“…Woo-min.”

“Huh?”

“Your scarf smells like a fool.”

“You see what you want to see.”

“It’s not seeing, it’s smelling.”

“Give it here.”

“No?… Ack.”

“I said stop that, really.”

Woo-min’s hand chopped Do-kyung’s throat.

Do-kyung clutched his neck and coughed dramatically, pretending to be in critical condition.

It was well past two in the morning.

They’d gone out to get some fresh air and buy ice cream.

Actually, Woo-min was sore from walking, but he thought if he wasn’t careful, he’d spend Christmas in bed, so he quickly got dressed.

In the meantime, he’d even prepped bean sprouts to make hangover soup for Do-kyung in the morning.

He’d given a knuckle sandwich to Do-kyung’s head when he offered to carry him.

Do-kyung had teased him about how his poor Woo-min was struggling, looking all flustered like a newborn calf, while he himself had only thrown a parka over his usual short-sleeved shirt worn at home.

Woo-min noticed him huddling against the cold.

Naturally, he took off his scarf to give to him.

“Lee Do-kyung.”

“Yeah.”

“Do you really want ice cream when it’s this cold?”

Woo-min’s slender fingers picked at the lint on the scarf tickling Do-kyung’s jawline.

Holding his lover’s hand, Do-kyung had been looking ahead, carefully navigating the icy path.

His eyes turned toward Woo-min.

“Ice cream tastes best when it’s cold out.

Seon Woo-min tastes best anytime— Ack!”

Not only had he barked his shin, but Do-kyung’s earlobe was also caught.

He twisted his head this way and that, trying to shake off Woo-min’s grip, but Woo-min didn’t let go easily.

“Hey, it hurts!

I’m serious, it hurts!”

“So what?”

Woo-min’s glare was practically murderous.

“I warned you when we left the house.

No cheesy lines.”

He’d repeatedly warned him: lines about being horny, being pretty, whatever—fine when they were alone, but when they were outside, he wasn’t to even hint at them.

But Do-kyung had even kissed him.

He’d let it slide once, but he wouldn’t tolerate it anymore.

It would become a bad habit.

Do-kyung felt wronged.

He was dying to show off Seon Woo-min, but there was nowhere to do it.

He’d held back and held back, and the closest he got was a bit of suggestive talk—and now even that was forbidden.

“I’ll keep my mouth shut from now on.

I swear on my name.”

“…Why do you keep swearing on your name?”

“Woo-min.

People are staring.

You’ve gotta keep up my image, okay?”

“Can you do a silent vow until we get to the convenience store?”

“Easily.”

Woo-min couldn’t help but laugh at Do-kyung, who was rubbing his hands together like a wily servant.

The moment he laughed, the discipline was already a failure.

Do-kyung rubbed his red earlobe, grumbling that Woo-min had no sense of mood, that he thought he was some kind of military drill instructor.

“Anyway, my cake… ugh.”

The whipped cream cake he’d specially ordered for today—Lee Do-kyung had left it on the subway.

The fatal mistake was not taking the car because of the road conditions.

Consequently, they’d only realized after finishing their meal that there was no dessert.

“What a shame.

Dipping it in Seon Woo-min’s thighs would have been f*cking delicio—…”

His words trailing off, Do-kyung suddenly felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up and clamped his mouth shut.

Seon Woo-min’s profile was icy.

“Forget it.

It’s in the past.

And next time, don’t bother buying one.

I hate spending money on cake or desserts.”

“The person who eats it like it’s the best thing ever if it’s there?”

“If it’s there, I eat it.”

“That’s funny.

You skip meals and just eat that.”

“Shut up and come here.”

Seon Woo-min grabbed Do-kyung’s arm and pulled him into the convenience store.

Moments like this made it hard for Do-kyung to hold back a smile.

When his small, precious, infinitely protectable lover took the lead and guided him, when he looked down at that little head, something tickled the bottom of his chest.

“Fool, what did you pick for me?”

Do-kyung, who had filled a basket with snacks, rested his chin on Woo-min’s shoulder and scanned the different ice creams, following his lover’s gaze as he deliberated in front of the freezer.

“Still deciding.”

Finally, Seon Woo-min took ice creams from the freezer and placed them one by one into the basket Do-kyung was holding.

For Do-kyung, he chose a mango ice bar and a citrus ice bar.

For himself, he picked a safe chocolate cone.

Leaving the convenience store, Lee Do-kyung held Seon Woo-min’s hand, fingers intertwined, crunching on his ice bar with one hand.

Woo-min told him to eat it at home because it was cold, but thanks to the scarf, it was fine.

“Who wants bean sprout soup for breakfast?”

“Me.”

Lee Do-kyung raised their joined hands high.

Even if he hadn’t raised his hand and answered like that, Woo-min would have made the bean sprout soup anyway.

Thinking he was cute, Woo-min smiled to himself.

“Lee Do-kyung.

You’re like a dog sometimes.”

Walking along, Seon Woo-min stopped and looked up at him with a bright smile.

His eyes were like firewood warming a fireplace.

A warm reddish-brown, clear and pure.

“What… a dog?”

Do-kyung, gazing dazedly into Woo-min’s eyes as if being drawn in, reacted a beat late.

“Did you just call me a dog?”

“Yeah.

What’s wrong with being a dog?”

Seon Woo-min took out a cigarette.

As he stopped, Do-kyung also pulled out his.

He thought there was a pack left, but it was empty.

Woo-min offered him one of his, but he refused, not liking the taste of Cloud Nine.

“Hey, even so.”

“Even your lens color.”

Woo-min, who used to dislike the blue-grey contacts, now thought they suited Do-kyung, inseparable from him.

He looked like a wolf, or a Siberian Husky—cute, and it matched Do-kyung’s free-spirited style, which strayed slightly outside the norm.

“You look like a husky.

One that never listens.”

“Oho.

If it’s that kind of dog, okay.”

“The point is it doesn’t listen— you’re dead.”

Seon Woo-min, cupping his own cheek, glared fiercely at Do-kyung.

It was because of a surprise kiss.

It’s your fault for showing off such soft, smooth cheeks, Do-kyung shrugged shamelessly.

“Hey, Woo-min.

Look at that.”

“…….”

“Wow, my eyes are popping out.”

“…….”

“I’m serious?

I’m not joking.

I’m telling you, our fool’s dream is coming true.

It’s snowing.”

Lee Do-kyung grabbed Woo-min’s head and turned his attention.

Snow that had started somewhere in the vast sky was fluttering down like coarse salt.

Seeing Woo-min’s relaxed face as he tilted his head to welcome the snow, Do-kyung laughed silently.

As his lover, who looked like a Siberian Husky, gently wiped away the snowflakes with a tender hand, a faint smile bloomed on Seon Woo-min’s lips.

‘It’s Christmas Eve.

Let’s try setting a mood with something other than s*x, just for today.’

Since they usually jumped each other the moment their eyes met, Woo-min had made the suggestion after much deliberation.

He’d planned to casually play the Invincible Power Kitty Corps anime and also come out to him.

As he was swallowing Lee Do-kyung’s tongue that tasted of wine, he came to his senses and found himself in the bedroom, the night sky visible through the window.

It was true that he’d left the house half out of defeat.
