Chapter 27: The Weight of Sin and a Chilling Encounter

Night descended quietly, casting its pale, luminous glow upon them both. Mo Ya carried Akuma into an unoccupied house he had found earlier.

He had discovered the place earlier that afternoon while investigating the village. The owner was likely long dead, as a thin layer of dust coated everything within the room.

Mo Ya stripped off his outer clothing and gently draped it over Akuma. Catching a cold would be inconvenient, regardless of the circumstances.

Having attended to these minor details, he quietly closed the door behind him and stepped back into the moonlit night.

Memories of his past flickered through his mind, like images on a rapidly spinning carousel lantern.

Then, his memory froze on a single, agonizing second—the moment he had personally taken the life of his comrade.

He was already burdened by countless sins, yet he saw no other path to tread. The more he dwelled on it, the more his heart ached for the small girl, who, much like himself, carried the weight of profound guilt.

“Next time, I’ll ask her name.”

Mo Ya murmured to himself as the wind swept across his face.

The wind had risen, carrying with it the scent of damp earth.

Behind him, at some unknown moment, Blood Princess had appeared, her blood-red hair billowing in the breeze.

A captivating smile played on her lips, yet she clutched the lifeless body of a human woman. The skin was a pallid white, indicating she had been dead for some time.

“Have you finished your investigation?”

“Of course. This was the King’s command, after all. I would fulfill it even if it cost me my life.”

With these words, she casually tossed the woman’s corpse aside and embraced Mo Ya from behind.

But that was not enough. She subtly bent her slender, pale legs, positioning them within Mo Ya’s line of sight.

Blood Princess provocatively writhed her body, unbuttoning her top.

“Hey…”

Mo Ya felt a surge of heat. Despite himself, he was a normal man, and a certain sensation stirred within him.

She pressed her head against Mo Ya’s from behind, causing her ample bosom to perfectly mold against his back. Mo Ya felt the softness against him.

The distance between them vanished, and Mo Ya could even feel the warm breath emanating from her nostrils. The heat intensified noticeably.

Yet, Blood Princess continued to utter suggestive words, teasing Mo Ya’s nerves.

Her crimson lips parted slightly, revealing a row of white teeth, as she gently bit his earlobe and whispered seductively:

“You belong only to me, always. Just as Blood Princess belongs only to you, my King.”

Her soft, boneless hand slowly slid downwards, nearing the most vital part of Mo Ya’s manhood.

Though Mo Ya’s body burned, his rationality remained intact. He promptly pulled away from Blood Princess, regaining his composure.

Due to his sudden departure, the twin mounds that had been pressed against Mo Ya were suddenly liberated, jiggling freely in the air, completely exposed.

Blood Princess seemed slightly displeased, but she didn’t lash out as she had before. Instead, she silently tidied her disheveled clothes and hair, then turned her gaze to the female corpse nearby.

She knew this was the King’s true command, and now was the time to complete it.

The corpse lay at an awkward angle, positioned on its side. Although her skin was ghastly pale, her voluptuous figure remained undeniable. The posture, in fact, seemed almost alluring.

Mo Ya unconsciously averted his gaze.

This did not escape Blood Princess’s notice. She strode to the corpse, raised her high-heeled foot, and kicked the body onto its back, then smiled at Mo Ya.

“The King is truly omnipotent! Just as you said, I sensed the same corrosive power in all these humans who died from the plague. It was undoubtedly forcefully injected.

Its purpose, as the King surmised, must be to provoke a series of negative emotions like fear and dread in the villagers, and then use these to enhance the power of some Corrosive at work.”

Mo Ya nodded, his suspicions confirmed. Yet, he felt an intense surge of displeasure.

Displeasure, profound displeasure. Mo Ya clenched his fists, the grinding of bone against bone echoing in the silence.

To enhance oneself through the negative emotions of others—that was the act of a coward, utterly devoid of value.

This creature’s methods undoubtedly negated the path of evolution Mo Ya had chosen. But his anger went far beyond that.

He could feel the villagers’ profound grief at losing loved ones, their terror at being unable to escape the plague. More importantly, that girl, she was constantly enduring torment.

This creature had forced her to bear a burden of sin she should never have carried.

It was precisely because he understood the horror of sin that Mo Ya sympathized even more with the girl. Now, that sympathy had transformed into fury.

To achieve its own evolution, it had dragged so many innocent people into its machinations, pulling them into a fate it had orchestrated, leading them to their deaths.

Such an act undoubtedly crossed Mo Ya’s bottom line. He decided he would kill it, and return the right to write her own destiny to that small girl.

He had made up his mind.

But just as Mo Ya was thinking this, the woman, who should have been a corpse, moved uncannily, rising from the ground with impossible speed and posture.

At the same moment, Mo Ya seized her outstretched arm.

Her cloudy eyes held no focus, and the arm he gripped was cold to the bone, utterly devoid of warmth.

She was clearly dead, yet now she stood before him.

Mo Ya felt a flicker of interest.

“Interesting. I didn’t expect you to take it on. And…”

A frivolous smile touched the woman’s lips, yet her eyes remained vacant, giving her a chilling appearance. She turned her head, looking at the quietly standing Blood Princess.

“I didn’t expect such a noble Corrosive as you to pledge allegiance to a human as your King.”

Despite having her arm caught by Mo Ya, she casually jested with Blood Princess, which greatly displeased the latter.

‘What a joke. The King is human?’

Without a word, Blood Princess raised her fingertips, from which a beam of blood energy shot forth, piercing the woman’s abdomen.

No blood flowed, and her expression remained stiff.

“It’s no use, you know. This is just an ordinary corpse. I won’t feel any pain.”

The woman allowed Mo Ya to hold her arm, once again turning her gaze back to him.

“You’re very impressive. To discern my purpose so quickly, you’re much stronger than those useless magic troops!” She blinked her eyes, placing her free arm across her chest.

*Rip!* It was the sound of fabric tearing. She ripped the corpse’s clothes into shreds.

Without the clothes to conceal them, her breasts were naturally exposed to the air.

“This is your reward, you see.”
